****The April 2015 thread**** come check in and chat!

I was looking at the monthly forecast and it looks like they are predicting a bit of rain right now the last week of April. Has anyone been to Disney when it's been cloudy or rainy? Do they close a lot of rides? If the weather is in low 70's high 60's is it too cold to swim?

I wouldn't take it too seriously yet - it's still a few weeks out. I don't trust the forecast til 7 or so days out, even then i'm skeptical. Yes, I HAVE done Disney in the rain and it really depends on how bad it is in regards to closures. If it's a total downpour and windy you are more likely to run into closures, a little sprinkle doesn't stop much :) Poor weather is more likely to cancel evening entertainment though for safety purposes.

I found the forecast on www.accuweather.com for that far out. It's definitely thrown a twist in my packing plans. Sounds like we need some raincoats and umbrellas now.

Thanks! with it still being 3 weeks out i would expect that forecast to change between now and then. Maybe for the better and if we are unlucky for the worst lol. I would just check closer to the time and hopefully it says warm and sunny!

Not sure where Tyler found it, but after seeing that I looked it up. I found it on acuweather. Looks like the 27th-29th. According to there it's a 50-60% chance of rain and storms as of yesterday. Hopefully it won't mean a lot of closures! I know they need the rain though.

Where do you see that? I can see 10 days out and nothing but gorgeous weather. Even rain averages for the last week of April are about 0.02 a daY

***well that sucks. The 3 days we happen to be there are the only days that show thunderstorms? Rain wonder if I should push it back a week***

He found it on here www.accuweather.com but i wouldnt worry to much until closer to that week. 3 Weeks out is hard to predict and they changes that forcast almost daily so I would just check when its closer to 5-7 days before you trip and then plan based on that

Yea I saw that. Hopefully it changes as those are the only days showing rain I the entire man month. I booked through Costco so not so sure it's that easy to change

I agree with the previous posters. Weather can be tricky to predict this far out. Plus it's only 50% so our chances are pretty good that it won't rain at all! We were planning on packing ponchos anyways. My daughter got excited about the possibility of rain, she wants to use her princess umbrella.

Thanks for the info about closures! I do have to admit I'm a little bummed to hear about the possibility of rain on top of the park hour changes. Like others has suggested we're not gonna stress about it until we're a little closer. It'll still be magical for us either way. It's my first trip to Disneyland (I've been to WDW) and my DH & DD's first trip anywhere.

Nine days to go! :tigger:While the kids were at school yesterday, I hit the Disney store and loaded up on shirts and swimsuits and autograph books. We told them about the trip a couple weeks ago, so I need some kind of surprise for this trip! Kids don't get presents outside of birthdays and Christmas, so this will be fun for them. I'm thinking of ideas for a scavenger hunt once we get to the Hojo. Any suggestions?

We arrive in 9 days also, and are staying at the HOJO! Cannot wait!

We will be on our way to Vegas this time tomorrow! Trying to get the laundry done and all the other last minute stuff.

I agree with the weather people saying to wait and see. The forecast for next week has gone from the 60s to the 80s and now to the 70s and included rain a few times I checked. I'm really liking what it says now so I hope it stays that way for the next few days. :)

Have a fantastic trip! Check back in and tell us all about the fun things you did!:flower:

Wheeeeee! It's a party at the Hojo! We haven't stayed there before, but we booked early and got a kids suite. I think we will love having a separate space to put the three little people after a long day!

My boys have been SO sick the past three days with croup that I haven't even been able to think about our trip. They're on the mend this morning and I had a sudden BURST of crazy excitement for our trip! We're 11 days out and I'm FREAKING out :)
