Did anyone else think that Uchenna and Joyce were having problems getting money at the airport because they are African American?
It's been 27 years since I went to Jamaica, but I remember an impoverished county whose main economy is the tourist trade. Everyone had their hand out for money. People routinely begged at the big tourist spots and you don't dare leave your change on the bar for more than a second or the bartender would scoop it up for a tip. It was a beautiful country, but the people seemed so needy!
When Uchenna and Joyce were first turned down by the Australian (?) tourists I said to my friend who was watching the show with me: "I bet the other teams would get money with no problem." as all the people in line denied their request. It's not clear to me that the foreign visitors made the distinction between 2 black Americans begging and 2 black Jamaicans begging.
I'm glad that they were finally able to collect enough money to win. The deck as really stacked against them (unlike when the other teams were stripped of money) because every clue said "Take a cab to ..." which meant they had to have money for cab fare. As for the Miami cab driver, they were very lucky he spoke Spanish because he asked for the place in Spanish and the name is really in Spanish. They found the place right away.
The ending was nerve wracking! I was shouting "Leave the &*^%$ cab driver and go in!!!" I wonder if they could have given him an IOU at the end. Were they paying him to be nice? Because it was the right thing to do? Or, were they required to pay him exactly what he asked for? I think it ended up to be very close, didn't Rob say "There's Uchenna and Joyce!" as they pulled around the corner? I wonder what TTWSNBN would have done in the same situation

. Schmoozed the cab driver would be my guess.
Anyway ... good race. Good finish. I can't wait until next season.
