The Amazing Race 7...official Thread

I think Rob & Amber did really well. They worked well together, kept their cool and treated each other with respect. I don't understand why everyone hates them. Not the other players, I can see why they hate them, they see them as a huge threat. :teeth:

I also like the brothers, they seemed to really be having fun.

I hate that the two twits came in first place. Man, I hope they get eliminated soon.

I found the girls who came in first very annoying and didn't care much for the mom and son team. I also questioned that they are suppose to be friends but they sure act like lovers. I agree that the other teams need to worry about themselves and not Rob and Amber. I thought Rob and Amber did well after getting the trunk of the car open. Rob was so smart asking that guy to help them, it really moved them forward in the game. You could tell that Rob was disappointed they didn't finish first. The POW/beauty queen team really struggled.

I did enjoy the show and am looking forward to the rest of the race.

Are the "lifelong friends" really lovers? DH and I couldn't figure it out, and you could tell that the brother team was also wondering about it at the airport. I don't call any of my girlfriends "babe" or smooch them quite so much, LOL! Either way, who cares...be who you are though, KWIM?! Why hide it?!

I really like Rob and Amber! I do NOT like the mother/son team so far. The son was nice to Rob's face in the transport truck, but then said that he and his mother wanted to be responsible for their demise...that ticked me off. I was sorry to see the "hillbillies" go. They were very nice to each other, and they would have been entertaining at least. The POW and his girlfriend need to step it up if they're going to stay on.

Also, why weren't the boyfriends penalized for taking the motorized cart instead of the rickshaw to the beach? Will they be penalized when they leave on the next leg? Shouldn't they have gotten a 30-minute penalty for not following the clue?

I watched this for the first time last night because I kept hearing how good it was. I really liked it! :teeth:

I think my favorite team is Ron/Kelly (POW/beauty queen), mainly for the fact that he's from around here and when he was in Iraq it was such a huge story. I feel like he went through a lot over there (in Iraq-- how scary to be a POW), so it would be sad to see him eliminated, especially in the first eppy like almost happened last night! Plus, he just seems like such a nice guy!

I was sad to see the good ole' boys go, especially when they were both crying about it. They seemed nice, too.

The old couple kind of annoys me, and the girls who are in first place right now annoy me even more.

The boyfriends are funny. :teeth:

I agree - the boyfriends are just too funny! How do they find these people?
Those two whiners that won should go next show - when the one was whining at the Llama's and "was so upset" - I would have smacked her!!

I love the Amazing Race and now Tuesday's are great again.

I started out not rooting for Romber and by the end of the show I found myself hoping they stick around for awhile. They have a great attitude towards this and they are funny. I was disappointed at the two that got eliminated, I think they would have had some good comic moments. They seemed like they had a great sense of humor. I hope the POW does better.

My favorites so far are Rob & Amber and the boyfriends. Those 2 couples are going to bring a lot of entertainment to the show.
The 'good ol' boys' were funny, but they got annoying. Im not sure if I was glad to see them go or not.
Im not too sure what I think of the rest of them, but it looks like this is going to be a good season.

To Storym65 and ChesirelVal,

Glad to hear that you're two are now watching for the first time. TRUST ME, this show is so good and addicting. I'm ALWAYS BITING MY NAILS AT THE END!!!!!!!!!! I'm surprised that this is not the #1 rated reality show.

I'm routing for the boyfriends.....love the SPLASH MOUNTAIN comment!!! They so funny.

I'm also routing for the POW...I remember him a couple of years ago.

And the brothers and Rob and Amber. They should bring good entertainment for us to watch and hopefully they'll last a long time.

Have a good day.

I'm new to this thread. :)

I love Rob!!!!, and Amber. I have loved Rob since his first run on "Survivor"! I love his funny little cocky attitude! Didn't like Amber at first, but since she's been with Rob this long I guess I'll go ahead and accept her. (She's way too naturally pretty, it's just not normal! ;) )

Not crazy about the mom and her son, they seem to be quite bitter toward Rob and Amber? What'd they ever do to them?

Can't keep the blonde girls teams straight!

I wish the good ol' boys would've gotten to stay on longer! I think they were fun to watch. :guilty:

I like the two brothers that finished 4th. :)

That's about it for now I guess.

Oh! I also love Puggymom's siggie picture! They are tooooo cute! What are their names?

WOW.. whats up with the lack of Romber love? ;)

I like them. I think they make an awesome couple. They are funny, easy going and don't take life so seriously. They were one of only a few couples that didn't bite each other's heads off already in the first leg of the race! Show me one other romatically involved couple that wouldn't have gone into nuclear meltdown if one of them couldn't open the trunk on a domestic car in Los Angeles (not like one of those funky local cars oversees) and then wanted to pop into someplace to get something to eat on the way racing to the airport.. :rotfl:

So they had someone help them.. there were teams doing that on the last season of AR.

So Amber won a million dollars on Survivor? Why shouldn't they be able to compete in another game if the producers picked them to play? Sure they were probably picked because of who they are but I bet the POW was picked because of who he was also. Not to mention I'm sure his girlfriend as a beauty pagent winner has won her share of $ from the pagent circuit.. not a million I'm sure but still..

Like said earlier - the rest of these teams need to start worrying about themselves and not what Rob and Amber are doing. They are giving them power and - Rob and Amber aren't taking it. Once they are nice and deep into the foreign countries, nobody will recognize them from Survivor like the guy that recognized them from the flight coming from the USA to Peru.

Glad this show is back on again so soon, however I keep looking for the people from the last race and realize they are done (I really enjoyed the last race). I have watched every race since the beginning, and last night was one of the best first episodes. They have some good, standout teams this time. My observations:

The POW: Why was he telling that other guy about being a POW in the airport? It looked like he just up and said, "Hey my name is ?? and I was shot down in Iraq and held hostage for 23 days....". It just seemed so odd and strange to me, but then again it could have been the editing.

Digging for the Airplane Times: Did these people never watch the Amazing Race? Any team that just went and started digging in the 7:40 pile without checking the other piles doesn't deserve to stay in the race. Talk about a SUTUPID mistake, how dumb can they get. Not one team that ended up with a 7:40 ticket had too because it was the only pile left, they choose it. I know the POW and the older couple did this, but I can't remember who the other teams were... does anyone remember?

Rob and Amber: I like them. They had to know that all the other teams would want them off right away, plus they have their reputations at stake, which is a lot of pressure. They seemed to really get into it by the end. I hope they stick around for awhile, plus it is nice to have someone to root for in the first few episodes until the other teams define themselves. Plus, they apparently did what the producers hope they would do, which is attract new viewers to the show. Hopefully these people will get hooked too and keep the ratings up so that the show stays on the air.

The brothers: I thought they seemed a little arrogant and full of themselves, especially when they were commenting about the female teams. But, it is also pretty early to tell.

Someone I work with thinks he did that a strategy, get some sympathy. I hate to think that, after what he went through. I really hope he is sincere. It never dawned on me that he wasn't being sincere.

ETA pug on the left is Namath and pug on the right is Rocky, thanks

The guy from the 'on again, off again' couple reminded me of a cross between Jonathon and Bolo.
Kinda clueless (Bolo) and pretty mean (Jonathon) to his partner.

Saw Amazing Race for the first time last night and loved it!:teeth:

Unfortunately, my favorite team lost...I'll miss the hillbillies :(

I started out liking the mother/son team too but the mom started to annoy me. And about the "Romber" team, I've always thought Amber had it too easy and didn't deserve the million from Survivor but I do think Rob is hilarious and hope he sticks around for the entertainment value. The gay guys are pretty funny...can't help but think they're hamming it up a bit for the cameras though. Don't like either of the "blonde Barbee" teams...and I definitely think Ray is a complete jerk to Deanna..can you imagine having to be on a team with that guy....whatever was keeping those two together is fading fast!

BTW, I love this thread and love hearing everyone's opinions!::yes::

Maybe the guy asked him (Ron) what he does for a living? I'm pretty sure he's just doing speaking engagements now.... I guess he would have to explain how he got that job??

I'm loving that Rob and Amber are on the show. I think they bring a lot of humor. Personally, I can't understand why people are so hateful towards them -- I sincerely doubt anyone has actually met them in order to be able to develop such a dislike. Any way, I'm hoping they hang around for a while.

I think the other teams need to start worrying about themselves and not Rob and Amber. It's a race people, a game!

Is it just me or does one of the boyfriends sound just like Nathan Lane???

I didn't think I'd say this, but I really liked Rob and Amber. They are keeping their cool, they're having fun, and they are stopping to appreciate the culture of the places that they are visiting.

I don't like the lifelong friends - and the exact nature of their relationship is quite confusing..... it will be interesting to see how that one plays out.

Mom and son team need to focus on themselves.

DH & I were sad to see the "rednecks" go last night. I think they would have been great comic relief for the show. I loved the comment about "Fat Boy is gonna load test the zip line now..."

Oh well as long as neither of the blonde girl teams ends up winning I'll be happy... Didn't like the redhead and the two "roommates" sure look like more than just "roommates" to me...I don't know why they don't just say they are partners or girlfriends. The two boyfriends were really funny to watch.

Rob and Amber kept me entertained on Survivor All Stars, so I think it's cool that they're on the Amazing Race. I did think it was funny that Rob said something to the effect of "We already won a million dollars." Um, Rob, Amber won the million dollars, not you! :p

The mother and son team are locals in my area...I'm not liking them at all! In yesterday's paper, her husband admitted he refused to be on the show with his wife, because he knew they would argue. Also, the son is quoted in the new TV Guide, slamming Rob and Amber.

I also don't understand why anyone would trust anyone and why some people already seemed lazy (the digging at the beach...the one couple just started digging at the first spot without even checking the others). Some teams just didn't seem like they were "hustling." It's a race people!!!

Amy :)

Count me in as another Amazing Race newbie! I have caught bits and pieces of shows from previous seasons, but never an entire episode. Being a big Survivor fan family, we had to catch AR last night. Despite not liking Rob and Amber on Survivor, I really enjoyed them on AR. I was surprised to find myself rooting for them! I liked that they could take a moment to enjoy the beauty of their surroundings. WTG, Romber!!

Count me as another one that doesn't like the winners of this episode. Bleck. The one was just losing it over the llamas. Mother and Son - nope, not feeling any love for them either. I thought POW/Beauty Queen would have done much better.

We will definitely be watching next week!
