Deanna's lip was from the stick in the corn smashing. She said "Oww Ray, watch what your doing" or something like that and then the next shot was her lip bleeding. I think her stick came up and smacked her in the face. Everyone had taller sticks but her's was much shorter.

I was just amazed that Amber needed help shopping in the market! I thought that was the easiest task ever. Rob is pretty much running the race alone (and with the help of those who recognize them). Amber can't even add a thought to his strategy.

What I saw was - Rob and Amber passed when the accident was still fairly new. The next few couples slowed down and asked if everything was okay. By the time the last few went past, help had arrived and the brother was standing there waving them past - so there was no need to ask, it was clear everything was okay.

I still think the smarmiest thing about not helping was the laughing about it later.

I agree 100%. I really had not formed an opinion at first about Rob and Amber in the race but now Rob is wearing thin. This is a contest but it was wrong not to stop and offer aid. Again, the fact that Phil called him on it means that he crossed a line with Phil. Phil never does anything like this unless it is really needed.

Rob and Amber knew that the other teams were helping the older couple. They made a point of not joining in for strategic reasons. What comes around goes around. I would love to see Rob and Amber stripped of their possessions in a non-elimination leg and see if anyone helps them.

yep, I saw it too. The brothers motioned Unchenne & Joyce on but they DID slow down

I just finished watching last nights show WOW! Having to give up everything except the passports yikes! For how much they went through Gretchen and Merridith certainly did well. I am a Rob and Amber fan and I thought the least they could have done was rolled down the window like other teams and ask if everything was ok. I'm glad Ray and Denna are gone he was so mean to her all the time. Lynn and Alex are starting to get even more annoying for me as well.
My top 3 would include:

Rob and Amber
Uchenna and Joyce
Ron and Kelly

No No NO!!!! If they come in last their butts better get eliminated. I remember when J/V from last time were eliminated. We knew they were last coming in, but I just had a sinking feeling that it was a non-elim.

Well, I'm home now, so I can finally watch last night's episode tonight! I can't wait! I have a list of things I need to watch for.

Amazing Race is a game - but is it really a "do whatever you have to to win" game? I'd be interested to hear what would have to happen to make any of us stop playing for a time. Football is a game too - and we're talking more money there but they still stop if someone gets hurt. I wonder how badly someone would have to be injured before the producers would somehow call a "time-out" and have everyone stay where they are.

The key in football is that the players do not stop until the officials stop the game. An injured player does not get medical attention until the play is stopped. Just like in a marathon or any other foot race, if one of the racers goes down and is injured, the other racers do not stop and ask if they need assistance.

I don't agree with what Rob and Amber did. I used to like the way they played the game but not anymore. Their lack of compassion makes me sick.

I also think the boyfriends are not getting as much trash as they should for the way they talked about South Africa. The "Tupac" and "Compton" comments were offensive. As a gay couple who I am sure receive grief for being stereotyped, I would hope they would have more respect for people and not insult them because of their race.

Editing is wonderful--unless you are there to experience it--it is just all a biased representation of events by the producers to drive our emotions in one direction or the other. And it seems to be working as planned!

My thoughts exactly!! We see what they want us to see and this is how they keep us hooked. If we got to see everything we'd be bored!

It took me awhile to read through all these new posts, but there is one thing that I don't think anyone has mentioned. The brothers have been one of my favorite teams all along, but more so now. When they received their second vehicle and were on the way to the next stop, one of them prayed for the injured cameraman. And when they reached the pit stop ahead of Ray and Deana, one said "Thank you, God." Some may flame me but it's good to see that some people are not afraid to say these things on camera.

Don't like what Romber did by not stopping, but still enjoy watching them as a team.

Can't wait for the BF's to go. My favorite three teams would still have to be:

The brothers
Rob & Amber
Uchenna & Joyce

This is my first post to this thread, but I've been watching all season. I never watched any past seasons and only started watching this one because of Rob & Amber.

With that said, I guess it's obvious that I'm a Rob & Amber fan. I agree that they could have at the very least rolled down a window to ask if everyone was okay, but I can't fault them for not stopping. They were correct in assuming that the situation was under control, but they didn't show any compassion for the poor injured cameraman.

You can't tell me that Lynn & Alex would have stopped if it was Rob & Amber's vehicle in the accident. The way they kept harping about Rob & Amber not stopping was ridiculous. Yes, Lynn & Alex stopped, we know they are morally superior to Boston Rob, a man whose entire claim to fame is being conniving (not much of an accomplishment for Lynn & Alex if you ask me), but they paid more attention to R & A not stopping than to the accident itself. I don't recall Lynn & Alex asking Phil if the cameraman was okay.

Let's not forget that the woman at the Roadblock OFFERED to help Amber. I'd take the help too. I'm sure she would have been able to finish without the help. I don't think, time-wise, that the next team was that close to them. I don't think her getting help would have changed the outcome of that leg.

A lot of what Rob says is supposed to be taken tongue in cheek, but again, even though I'm a fan, I don't like his comment about Meredith pushing Gretchen. That was just a little too smarmy for my taste.

1)Who/What is Tupac??? Am I the only clueless one here?

2)Did anybody else hear Rob saying something very compassionate in his vehicle as the passed the accident? He said something along the lines of "oh how terrible, they're our competition and all but I don't want to see anybody get hurt, that's no fun for anybody". This may not be an exact quote but its the gist of what he said. I wouldn't have stopped either...what would they have done? Lynn/Alex were already there and the camera man was receiving assistance already. There was no reason to stop.....I just don't think it was anywhere near the big deal everyone is making it out to be

I despise Meredith/Gretchen....they are wearing on me big, big time and I haven't liked them since the beginning. Usually I like the token old couple and really root for them but not this time.

Uchena/Joyce or Pow/Beauty Queen & the brothers all seem kind of dumb to me and I'm surprised they're all still here.

I really like Rob/Amber the best and I've never, ever watched an episode of survivor in my life so I have no predjudices....I just like how they're playing the game.

I'm not sure you're the only clueless one but maybe the only clueless one willing to speak up and ask I knew who Tupac was - he was a rapper who was killed in Las Vegas as a result of gang rivalaries.

Tupac Shakur was a rapper who was shot and killed in 1996. It's been rumored to have been a "gangsta" type killing because of a feud between east and west coast rappers.

I am not a fan of what Rob & Amber did - they could have at least slowed down and opened their window to make sure everything was ok, just as everyone else did but no. And them laughing about it was even worse. I want them gone soon, I would liek POW/Beauty queen and the brothers at least to be in the top, as well as Uchenna/Joyce. I would also like Meredith/Gretchen to get up there too. Not Rob/Amber. They can't do anything on their own....sorry if you do not agree, this is just how I feel.

Wow! A lot of posts about last night's show. It took me a while to read all of them.

Anyway, I agree with others about Rob and Amber not stopping. It was definitely uncalled for. It would have taken them a minute just to stop and ask if everything was all right. I'm glad Phil called them on it too. I'm sure a lot of these camera men have been with the show since its inception and are probably like family. I'm sure Phil was not amused, nor did he look it, that Rob and Amber passed right by. As for Uchenna and Joyce, they did stop. They stopped right behind Ray and Deana I believe and they kept going once they saw the one brother waving the car in front of them on.

I don't know how I feel about the new penalty of taking EVERYTHING away. How can they possibly compete when they get to the colder regions? It will pretty much be impossible. I understand they want to give them some sort of penalty, but making it impossible for them to win isn't right either. I agree with the other poster about giving them a time penalty. I think that may be more fair.

I don't think the racers carry the cold weather clothing with them. I believe it is held for them and given out when they need it. Look at the backpacks past racers have carried....no way a big hooded down jacket, gloves, mittens would even fit in the backpacks and then they arrive somewhere cold and they're all beautifully fully outfitted.....I think that stuff is either given to them for free or every single team, ever, has gone out and bought matching winter wear and somehow magically fit it in their backpacks....Nope, I don't think they carry that stuff, just their day to day stuff.

Interesting comment--I wonder if someone on this board has ever laughed at someone's misfortune privately--only to find out later that someone was injured or something else bad happened as a result of that misfortune.

Ever get that moment where someone does a goofy fall and you start laughing b/c it looks kind of comical and they hurt themselves doing it and you feel like a heel for it!

I know I've been laughed at before until it was realized the situation wasn't a joke b/c I was hurt.

Sure they didn't stop--but not stopping they don't know the details entirely. I guess when Phil gave them their talking to--I'm sure they got enlightened real quick about it. I'm sure Rob will have something smart to say--but he isn't the devil incarnate wishing people to get injured to better his shot at winning.

Sure Gretchen's wound looked bad to us--but she pressed on and they said it would require one stitch. Had any other team including Rob & Amber actually witnessed it--no jokes would have been made about it.

It's pretty hard to edit the fact that they laughed about it when Phil asked them why they hadn't stopped - not a spur of the moment reaction IMO since it was quite a while later. In my opinion every team out there would have stopped for any team - including Rob and Amber - if they thought they were hurt (with the possible exception of the team that got eliminated last night if the man was driving). It's pretty hard to misinterpret an overturned vehicle and someone lying on the road.

I am a Rob and Amber fan. I think having them on the show is great, but I thought they were very badly behaved last night.

Wow ! Some of you people REALLY need to get a grip. The hatred towards two people you don't even know, save through two heavily edited psuedo-"reality" shows is pretty pathetic, in my opinion. That said:

Rob and Amber - If you're playing a game of Monopoly with someone, do you cut them a break if they can't pay the rent on Park Place ? Repeat these three words, people: IT'S A GAME !!!!! There is a penalty for coming in last, and to think someone should help their opponent avoid that penalty is just ludicrous. As for "not stopping" at the accident, maybe they DID slow down and see what was going on. Watching the show, with all the cuts, how would you know ? I'm sure NO reality show would ever make cuts like that to make a competitor look like more of a "villain", right ?


Lynn and Alex - Was I the only one that thought their comments were just a teensy bit racist ? These two strike me as completely fake, and frankly, they're my least favorite of the remaining teams because of that. I used to think they were funny, like a lot of other people do. I got over it.


Brothers - Was REALLY glad they didn't get eliminated. Probably my favorite of the teams other than Rob and Ambuh. Cracked up when the one brother was talking about claustrophobia and the other said something about stuffing him into the bottom of a sleeping bag when they were kids.


Joyce and Uwchenna - What was the big deal with the orphanage ? They made a big deal out of it, but it didn't appear that they were there longer than a minute or two. No interaction with the kids, just in, grab the clue, and out. Just came off as a bit disingenuous, but again, it may just have been the editing.


Gretchen and Meredith - I don't care much for them, but you gotta admire Granny's guts for continuing on with the injury.


Ron and Kelly - Sorry, but they lost me on the "redneck trash" comment from next week's preview. Wouldn't mind seeing him win it, but I'd love to see him tell the "beauty queen" just where to stuff her tiara after that comment.

Seriously, people...accusing Amber of not having a thought in her head and repeatedly calling Rob a jerk (and worse) when he's done NOTHING but play the game is ridiculous.

He may have meant it as a joke but it sure didn't come across that way besides who but the most conniving would even think such a thing - Hurt your wife so the others will feel sorry for you....really it gave such insight into how Rob's mind works, Amber better watch her back

It came across as a joke to me, and at least a few others on this board. Some folks are taking this waaaay to seriously.
