THE AMAZING RACE 15, ~Season Premier~ 09/27/09 pg 64!

First of all ... yesterday's dinner.

Tandoori chicken
Aloo Mater (curried potatoes and peas)
Curried coconut green beans
Saffron rice
Naan
Kingfisher beer

I am more than ready for the redheads to leave. I am SO tired of them being SO rude to the natives and taxi drivers. At one point last night when no one spoke english at one of the challenges (feeding the camels maybe? don't remember...), one of them actually implied that no one knew English simply to frustrate and inconvenience them!! A little self-centered, perhaps?? :sad2:

I was really hoping the little people would come in last b/c they really are not very good racers. If the blondes had jumped into a taxi that didn't have to refuel, they could have beat them.

I did think their Speed Bump task was pretty neat - how cool is it to say you painted an elephant!
::yes:: Yea, that speed bump was awesome. My 11yo dd was saying she'd rather do that and get eliminated than not do it, that's how cool she thought it was!

Yea, the brothers always seem to be messing something up. I like them, but they have been pretty lucky not to have been eliminated yet.

Tammy and Victor were still annoying. It was probably mostly editing, but it sure made them look shallow when they were showing other teams getting emotional at the poverty on the taxi ride, then the two of them laughing it up. They deserved to be first last night though, with so many other teams so stupidly missing the telephones and the baskets.

I noticed that too...the one redhead just complains complains complains about the natives not speaking English. Puh-lease!

I think we are just going to do Thai take-out next week

Question...why do you think there was no penalty for the tems who did not use the baskets? They all had at least half the feed delivered before they realized the baskets were there, and I think one team used the water bucket the whole time.
Not sure that I understand your question but I think it was Mel, or was it Victor? that said that the clue read that they had to use traditional? utensils to water and feed the camels. Since all the teams that did that challenge finally ended up using the bucket and the basket, we'll never know if they would have been penalized for not using the basket. In fact, I believe at least one of them said "oh, that's what that is for" or "gee, we can use those?" when they finally noticed the baskets and realized they could use them. It goes to show once again it pays to read the clues carefully and thoroughly. That is what I meant when I said that the pit stop would have been interesting had there been a penalty for not using the basket and if those teams had not used them.

Well I think the little guys are just as good racers as the other teams?:confused3
They seem to get where they need to go, yes sometimes a little slower, but they don't really bicker, or put each other down like some of the other teams.

You're right they don't bicker but I think they could get lost in a phone booth. I do question their judgement on picking tasks. Last night they seemed to lose a lot of ground when you consider that all those teams (except the blonds) were together when they hit that last task.

I agree with you - they seem to constantly be lost or trying to figure out where they should go or running the opposite direction of everybody else.

Everyone makes it to the pit stop. They wee on the mat when she fainted, but how do we know what place they finished?

Not necessarily. There have been a few cases where Phil met the racers in the middle of the leg to let them know they were eliminated. If Marge had fainted in a place that required medical attention, it may have held them up enough that they could have finished last and not made it to the mat. Of course, just because we see them at the mat, doesn't mean that they still didn't come in last. We'll find out next week.

I would guess it was because using the buckets was a disadvantage, so no need to penalize anyone.

To me, bickering is kind of irrelevant to whether or not they are good racers. They are slow and have make some bad choices regarding the tasks. To me, that makes a bad racer. If you can bicker and hustle and get stuff done, then I don't see you as a bad racer. Sorry if I wasn't clear on what I meant by "bad racer." :)

Every season there is always one couple I just cannot stand. Actually, there is ONE of the couple I cannot stand.....:headache:

I will go back say two seasons....

Ronald and Christina.....hated RON. :headache:

Last season.......

Terrence and Sarah.....hated TERRENCE. :headache:

This season.......

Victor and Tammy.....hate VICTOR. :headache:

Ok vent over....carry on. :lmao:

This is so true. Some relationships are just "bickery". :lmao:

I don't know why they thought finding a small elephant in a haystack was a good idea.

I wondered if the clue mentioned it would be a small elephant. I know the viewers were shown that, but I don't think the racers knew what size it would be.

Good point, I don't think the clue indicated how small the item was they were looking for.

I don't know about you guys, but IMHO, when faced with the TAR proverbial random/needle in the haystack vs physically challenging detour, I would take the physical challenge almost every time. And I'm usually a gambler, but it always seems like the detours that involve chance can really come back to bit you in the butt. I'd rather take the sure thing and not finish in last so I can stay in the race, as opposed to coming in last place and getting eliminated just for a fleeting shot at placing first in a particular leg of the race.

I thought about that and concluded that there was no penalty because using the water buckets instead of the baskets (to collect the camel feed) did not give you an advantage; indeed, it was a disadvantage (as it would have been a disadvantage to use the wicker basket to collect the water). No advantage gained, no penalty.

Whats the NCAA schedule on Sunday?!?!?
Heres hoping it won't interfer with TAR again
