Just booked Kidani dedicated 2 bedroom savanna view for early December with my wonderful 40% off PIN. So excited!

Can anyone confirm that there is a high chair in the room? I saw one in a photo from a tour, but want to be sure.

Also, is the 3rd bathroom (the one not in either bedroom) a full bathroom with a tub/shower or just a toilet and sink?

TIA!

There should be a high chair in the entry closet.

The third bath is a full bath with a tub/shower combo.

We stayed there in Sept and loved it! We are going back in early Dec and I asked my DH to pick his favorite resort to stay at and he chose AKV-Kidani. Hope you love it as much as we did.!

It should be there. But, if for some reason it isn't, call and ask for one. (I've never seen a missing high chair, but, our friends once found that the pack'n'play was missing.)

Our family will be heading to AKV (Jambo) for our first time in May. I have read that the resort offers numerous activities throughout the day (arts & crafts etc...). I am wondering if there is any way to find out beforehand what the weekly schedule is. Is there a link to a web site that has this info or is it only available upon check in?
Thanks!

Nothing concrete BUT here is a sample of one day's activities last August:

When you check in, you'll receive a list of "May Activities" for both Jambo House and Kidani Village. They include things such as (at Jambo)
Flamingo Activity @ Uzima Flamingo Pond at 9:30am daily.
Ceramics activity (Tues., Fri.) Simba's Cubhouse from 10am-1pm; Make your own beaded jewelry (Wed. and Sat.) @ Simba's Cubhouse from 10am-1pm;
Cookie decorating seems to always be at 1pm daily in Boma restaurant.
One activity I really recommend is the Wildlife Games in the Sunset Lounge, usually around 6:30pm, held every evening :)

Thanks Johnsonet! I can always count on you to come through! :flower3: I'm thinking of doing a split stay next April with AKL and this really helps me a lot. :goodvibes

Has anyone ever booked a standard room (no savanna view) then upon check-in been bumped up to a savanna view room? I have read that sometimes if you are celebrating something special and you mention it to a CM at check in and they aren't completley booked up, then you may get bumped up to a savanna view room free of charge. Is this true? Has anyone heard of this or actually experienced this before?

Last year we booked a standard room and were given a savanna room when we checked in. It wasn't one of the best savanna views since it was near the end of the building with a view of the barn. In some ways that was an advantage since CMs came to feed the animals there, and many animals gathered there waiting for food. We enjoyed it enough that my DH decided he had to have AKL in the future, and we ended up buying a DVC membership there. I don't know if it had anything to do with our upgrade, but DH was celebrating a birthday, and we were celebrating our anniversary while we were there. We can't wait to go back in June to celebrate his birthday and our anniversary again...and we plan to buy more points while we are there.

Man I am so excited. Just e-mailed conc. with my dining list!! :)

I know what you mean!! We leave in 2 days
yippee:banana:

1 question. There are only 3 of us :dance3:so we booked a 'value' at AK Villas (DVC members).

I haven't a clue what to expect or where they are situated. I need something 'quietish' near the lifts/lobby as mum has knee trouble and my son has autism and doesn't sleep too well with a lot of noise.

Any ideas on best located values to stay? Are they smaller than other rooms do some have 'views' and which floors are they located on?
As long as i dont have something overlooking the bus or transport routes i should be ok!

Many Thanks

Any recommendations for our room requests at Kidani? I read through the thread but really didn't find any suggestions for there. We're booked in a dedicated 2 bedroom savanna view in early December. I'm thinking Sunset Savanna, 2nd or 3rd floor, not too far from the lobby. Any ideas or input?

For those who have slept on the sleeper sofa and sleeper chair, how comfortable were they? Large enough for an average sized adult?

No has posted a layout of the dedicated 2 bedroom, and I would LOVE to see it if anyone has one! I can only find the layout for the lock-off.

Also, does anyone have a picture of the current refillable mug, as well as the current price for them? Will there be other Christmas themed mugs in December?

Thanks in advance!

Take a look at the AKL map: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/aklmap.htm

The value DVC villas are in Ostrich trail and Giraffe trail and they can have a parking lot, savanna or pool view, all on the top floor (that's two floors up from the lobby). I think even the furthest room on those trails is still rather close to the lobby. Since your room needs are medical, I would advise to get in touch with Disney before you arrive to put in a request for a quite room close to the lobby. Since you are leaving in two days, it would be best to contact AKL directly.

There is also a specific phone number for contacting resorts if you have medical needs according to this post on the DISabilities FAQ: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=10889442&postcount=7

Here is a video of our 2 bedroom. I liked the location. It wasn't right by the lobby but close enough that we didn't feel like it was a long way. Also it was near the elevator that leads right out to the pool. Sorry I can't remember the details. It was the same Savannah that the Lobby looks over.

About the video ~ it starts out on the balcony from the living area then you see the length of it toward the 2 queen room then the other direction to the master. It thens goes into the living room and you see the kitchen. Turns into master bedroom with glance around there. Back out to living area, past kitchen to entry way. Full bath on right with front door straight ahead and laundry closet across from bathroom. Out of entry hall to right and 2nd bedroom. Shows bathroom and bedroom. Back out across living room to the master bedroom and the master bath.

Sorry about all the people. We didn't know he was filming. If the boys in the tub offends anyone I will remove the video.

Hope this helps. It's a beautiful resort!

Thank you so much! And having people in the video actually gave me a better idea of the villa's size. Very helpful and it got me looking forward to our trip even more!
