Hi everyone!!! It has been soooo cold here and windy. Yesterday I got wind burned and sunburned. But it's Disney, so I can deal with it.

Someone had asked if they had lite lemonade in Mara for cup refills. Yes they do! We checked for you and one of the boys even took a picture (they are so used to Disboard stuff! hahaha)

Sorry if this has been asked and answered before but does anybody know if there is a place at AKL where you can buy things like:

8 -10 packs of juice boxes?
Large bags of chips?
cases of pop (or big bottles)?
boxes of cereal?
boxes of donuts?
Larger than single size milk? juice?

You know, bigger stuff that we can keep in our room and eat, or should I plan to order from GardenGrocer?? We won't have a car.

Ever since they had the new AKV villas at Jambo House, the AKL shop (Zawadi Marketplace) has been selling things like that. I think I have seen all the things you mention with the exception of the juice boxes. I can't remember having seen those, but that does not mean they aren't there.

Still, GardenGrocer or Wegoshop might be a good idea. At least you will be able to order exactly what you want and don't have to rely on a rather limited selection at AKL.

We have booked a standard room for May. I have read that there are some standard rooms that are better then others. Can anyone tell me which ones these are so I can request them. Thanks.

regarding standard view rooms: most look out over the front of the resort, but some are very bad savanna views or pool views. So these "better" standard views are scattered around the resort, so you can't just ask for a certain location. I think the best would be to request a non-parking-lot-view. However, chances are not too great as most standard view rooms really are parking lot view.

Finally it has warmed up! Tonight is our last night.

Everyone is talking about our next trip. I can't wait to see Kidani. I did see the changes in the marketplace with some items that could be used in the villas. Nice changes.

You can place a garden grocer order. Or, check out amazon.com...depending what you want, you may be able to order from them with free shipping.

Also, as said, Zawadi Marketplace has a fair bit of selection.

As the other posters have mentioned, you can find most of these items at the gift shop. Just like the other posters, I don't think that I have seen juice boxes. However the price at the gift shop can be rather high. I think that the 2 liter soda bottles were approx $3 each.

What shampoo/conditioner products are supplied in the rooms at the AKL? I have sensitive skin but when we stayed at the Grand Californian at Disneyland last summer we had H2o products which I was OK with. Do they have these products at the AKL or the Mickey shaped bottle ones (which we have had previously at the BCV, although that was years ago?) I am trying to cut down on luggage this trip! If it is the H2o products I will be OK, if not I will have to pack my own shampoo/conditioner!

Hi, we are staying in early May and I decided to upgrade to Savanna View which is a first for us! We're super excited. I was wondering if anyone has ever been upgraded to Concierge from Savanna View when checking in and also what is Concierge? This trip is for our 3rd anniversary. I've only stayed at a deluxe (AKL) once. I just wanted to put that out there in case ya'll think I'm crazy for not knowing what concierge is. LOL

Concierge level allows you access to the concierge lounge on the 6th floor and access to the IPO staff who can make your dining and tour reservations for you. If you are staying Concierge level, then you can also book the sunrise safari for an additional cost. However, if you are being upgraded to concierge at check-in, then I doubt that there will be any slots left for the Sunrise Safari. The concierge lounge has a continental breakfast in the morning, snacks through out the day, hors d'ouerves with beer and wine in the evening and dessert later in the evening.
