That Indaba looks yummy!![]()
and Voila! mmmears, don't you think your DD would love it??
It's really festive! I saw it in someone's trip report last summer and emailed the photo to AKL IPOand Voila! mmmears, don't you think your DD would love it??

That's what I was thinking... but between the gifts IPO is getting for her, the things we're bringing, some other surprises I have in the works, and all the yummy treats in the CL lounge, I'm thinking that it might be too much! Does look really tempting, though... When I was asking about bday cakes and treats (with the IPO office), no-one mentioned this. I definitely would have considered this before setting up everything else. We decided against a cake since we really can't eat a whole cake and we dont need the extra sugar!![]()

Yay!! Can;t believe it. You're going to have SOOOO much fun!! I'm so happy for you!Yum on the flatbreadThanks for the info.
May I suggest the Indaba?? Here is a pic:
I ordered it for our room in late July. My good friend and her daughter joined us for a few nights at AKL and IPO arranged to have it delivered to my room the first night they had arrived... As you can see it makes quite a festive display! I have the In-Room Dining menu from that visit and it says "Indaba $40.00 Serves 2-4 Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge logo with Cookies, Brownies and Chocolate animals."
If you don't want to order a cake, I would consider this for sureGood luck!
P.S. I clicked on your Photo to try and get a better look but it was still small. What museum is that??
OK - just re-read your post and totally missed the fact that you were asking about experiences with the cocoa puff/chocolate ribbon item... Sorry! I haven't had or seen that and it's not in my in-room menu. Hope someone else can help!
I actually didn't know about this when talking to IPO and asked if there was an option to do something like chocolate animals or something, and they came with what I mentioned earlier and the zebradomes. After reading this, I surfed to the menu on Allears, quoted the Indaba and asked if it's still available and if so; GET ME IT! (well, in a nicer way
).
Lovely mall, decorated with art as you can see. It was just too great of a picture oppertunity to let it pass. If you wish I can post a bigger one.Well, based on that and on what the PP mentioned IPO suggested, maybe Indaba is no longer available?? I hope it is, though!
Yes, you have enough great stuff lined up for your trip... I was just teasing you! I just looked at you countdown... 2 more weeks!!Yay!! Can;t believe it. You're going to have SOOOO much fun!! I'm so happy for you!
They had some new selections that I wasn't really interested in (one was something with a chocolate boat, but it came with coconut which my DH hates, so that was out). Anyway, after a very long hour and a half of going back and forth (managers included...IPO staff got them involved), the head bakery chef decided to make it one last time just for me for DH. So, according to them, I got the very last one that was to be made.
No one could understand why it was being continued because it was so popular. I hope they brought it back or will bring it back soon. Good luck.Sorry to be the one to break the news to you, but the Indaba is NOT available anymore. I ordered one for our stay in Jan for my DH's birthday and while we were there, I got a phone call from IPO saying they had a big problem. Well, they told me it wasn't available anymore and I had to choose/find something else! They had some new selections that I wasn't really interested in (one was something with a chocolate boat, but it came with coconut which my DH hates, so that was out). I wondered if maybe that was going to be the case, since it had not been offered as an option to goofieslonglostsis. Maybe they can do something similar for her??
Perhaps you should ask for a festive cake in the smallest size possible?? I know I've seen pics on the Cake Thread w/ smaller cakes...
It's just so AKL-themed that I would have ordered it if it had been offered when I was asking about the cakes. IMO it's much better than a cake (but then, I dont have much of a sweet tooth).goofieslonglostsis - It may be that IPO is going to end up with the same problem? Thank you for answering my question about your photo. I'd love to see the full size if you get the chance... What a beautiful mall that must be - and what a great photo op![]()
Like all of you, it totally beats me why they would discontinue it. It is SO AKL and from what I've been reading it was popular. Who knows....... Anyhow, we're going to stick with the chocolate pot-thing with fruits and truffles. We'll just see how that comes out.
I actually did check out the cake thread. I'm just a bit worried that for the 2 of us, it'll still be on the big side. I would hate to waste it. At least fruit will always go down and truffles should hold a bit longer when using the fridge. We'll see. Why in the world would they discontinue such an amazing item. I'm sure it was ordered for lots of occasions...It's just so AKL-themed that I would have ordered it if it had been offered when I was asking about the cakes. Now I feel badly for bringing it up
But I'm glad we all got the head's-up from momatater. The chocolate pot sounds interesting. Will you take a photo to share??
No seriously; I'm very content with the option they offered. I don't need a cake to celebrate (actually never ever eat cake, except for choc. cake when in the States, so I'm used to birthdays without cake) and this sounds like a fun new way to kick of my 30st.What is the "chocolate pot thing with fruits and truffles?"
Just curious...![]()
The other is a chocolate coco pod filled with 5 off our assorted truffles and there is a chocolate logo ribbon and fresh fruit on the tray as well. This is $30.
The first is 3 of our specialty small zebra domes and a chocolate logo ribbon. That is $20

what do we need to bring to make coffee? just the grounds, or filters too?
coffee is provided. As far as I know the ground coffee is already within in a filter. So if you want to use your own coffee, you need to bring filters as well.
