You can check in at any time, however your room may not be ready. You can however leave your luggage with us, and it'll be automatically delivered to your room within an hour of it becoming available, while you're off in the parks.

You can check in whenever you get there -- 24 hours a day.

Your room may not be ready, but you can stow your luggage and get your park tickets and start your day. They should give you a number to call to see if your room is ready.

Check in can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 30+ minutes, depending on the cast member that you get, if the ticket/key machines are being temperamental, etc.

Your estimate on bus time is good, just don't forget the time it takes to walk from the bus once it gets to MK, get thru security, and then walk down Main St to the castle.

Enjoy!

By any chance, is there a basketball hoop at PC? Two of our girls will be in the middle of their traveling team season when we are in WDW and I'm sure their coach would like them to get some practice time in. Where would be the closest place? Do we bring our own basketball? Thanks.

No hoops @ Pop Century but there 's an awesome one on the Disney Wonder!:yo-yo:

I don't recall any WDW Resort having any basketball hoops, but Disney's Wide World of Sports will.

There are a couple that are 30' tall at the "Hoops" buildings at All-Star Sports... :teeth:

You would think that All Star Sports especially in the Basketball Building would have basketball hoops....strange:confused:

Value resorts only get pools (no slides) and an arcade. Cheapskates apparently don't deserve things like basketball courts, waterslides, etc.

I did see some college students playing on the giant half-court in the courtyard between the hoops building. It was quite amusing to watch. 30' is a long way up for a hoop. Even one that big.

They had hoops at the campground when we stayed there in 2000, of course that is probably too far out of your way.

does anyone know the size of the in room safe? it was mentioned that you could fit a laptop in it - actual measurements?

TIA:hyper:

WOW!! I just booked my POP Century! I have 5 days off during Easter, BUT the air cost is going to be expensive!! I dont know if it's going to be worth it to go. I am paying $145 a night including tax and it's prefered building. I want to be in the 60s building where Mowgli and Baloo is at and we want to be near the kiddie pool.

OUCH...that's a lot of money! And I have $94 booked at POFQ this May! My air is only $162 rt pp! I can get $94 at ASSports w/ AAA in April, but I want to try the new resort. It looks AWESOME!

Tyler. Great info.

I'm going in early December for my first time at WDW in 12 years!!!

I do have one question though, on the FAQ on page one, under transportation you wrote: Pop Century will be a “Magic On Demand” resort.

What does that mean?

I have a question for those of you who have stayed here with kids and were NOT in the preferred buildings, Do you wish you would of paid the extra money to be in a preferred building? I would pay it in a second for us, we are going in mid May for 9 days, but my mom and 2 brothers will be in a conecting room with us and my Uncle, wife and their 2 kids will be going also for the first 4 days - both on a vary tight budget! I was thinking of just paying the extra for the prefered room for all of us, if it is $10, it should come to about $160. Would it be worth it for me to spend this extra money? I know Tyler said the walk from some of the other buildings was only 3 min., but I just wonder with kids how long does 3 min turn into?LOL!! Also, if not a preferred building what building did you like? TIA!

We were in the 70's and I was very glad that I hadn't paid the extra $10/night for preferred (would have been an extra $70). We were only a couple of minutes from the main building and not too far from the parking. If there was an inside passageway or at least a covered walkway between the preferred building and the main building it might be worth it, but you still have to go outside. I have heard that some people really like the location of the preferred, though.

T&B

I keep calling (once a week or so) to see if preferred view opens up with the AP rate. (they have the rooms available, just not the AP rate) I'm hoping they'll offer it when we get there but if not, I'm sure we'll do fine no matter what building we're in.

Follow this slightly old, but still relevant link :)

Do they provide towels at the pool,,or do you need to bring your own? I forget what they do at POP. Can't wait til we're there!! 2 more days. wahoo!

No towels at the pool - bring room towels down. Housekeeping was really good about stocking the room with the towels we needed. ENJOY - POP CENTURY IS AWESOME!! :)

Sounds simple and confusing at the same time.

I've got another question. This is part Pop Century / part transportation:

What is the transportation time from PC to the Contemporary or WL (including transfers) during the first couple of weeks in December? I've read some where to allow 90 minutes to get to or from each (I assume that's at peak time). I'm planning on going to Chef Mickey's and/or the buffet at WL.

Doesn't matter whether its peak season or slow season... it'll take you the same amount of time. During peak season, more buses are running, so it might even take a shorter amount of time.

Always allow for an hour... chances are it won't take nearly that amount of time, but it's best to be early and prepared.

Worst case, 15 minute wait time for the bus, 15 minute drive time. 15 minute wait time for the boat, 15 minute travel time. But I doubt it would take anywhere near that.
