Thanks for the help regarding the launch and ferry! I could see myself ending up at the TTC instead of the Poly! I appreciate the pictures too!

Depending on what longhouse you are in the ferry might actually be closer than the launch.

Take a minute when you get there to figure out where everything is - its a rather long spread out piece of property.

I will be there in a few days myself! Well - Friday!

I am just wondering have you thought about telling Polynesian managment about these pool hoppers or is it just not worth it because chances are they won't do anything about it?

Also these new Polynesian logo shirts, is it a simple logo and etc or does it have a design with other things around it?

Yes, as I mentioned in my post, I have decided on telling management about these pool hoppers. But I do feel it will "fall on deaf ears". They obviously know the problem exists. It's far too obvious to believe otherwise. Also, I'm not going to go running to management to report people while they are there because there have been children involved and I do not believe in embarrasing them or their parents (in front of them) no matter how irritated I am at the situation. It should not be that difficult for the Poly management to come up with some preventative solution to this problem.

As far as the Poly logo stuff. There's really only a handful of new designs, at least new since our last visit last Summer. One has Mickey, Donald, and Goofy twirlling fire, another has an island motif and Poly lettering. Anyway, they are all popular enough that only the small sizes are still available. Thats the annoying part. New Poly merch is hard enough to come by (much harder than it should be imho) but to have it all displayed but only available in small and medium is just plain aggravating!:confused3

Traveliz,
We will be staying in Hawaii. But the ferry doesn't stop at the Poly, only the launch, right?

When we have traveled to nice hotels with fun pools, they have used wrist bands for the guests. When you ask for towels, you would give your room number and receive a wrist band to use the pool/slides, etc.

Yeah, something along those lines would work I'm sure. Y&BC has been doing it for years. I think it would be more difficult at the Poly because it's not enclosed like theirs is though. I'm not trying to paint a bleak picture of the Volcano pool. Obviously it's great fun and we've spent almost every afternoon there. We're having a great time, just been in some situations where it was impossible to ignore that some folks were obviously not staying at the Poly. Again, it would not be anywhere near as big a deal if the Volcano pool was not so crowded to begin with.

Funny, I mentioned doing this exact same thing a while ago when this topic was being discussed in here. Some posters actually disagreed and said that people wouldn't want to wear wristbands. :confused3 If another resort already implements this policy and it means stopping the pool hopping I don't see why it would be such an issue. It wouldn't take much for management to prevent non-paid "guests" from using the facilities that they have no right to be in.

:)Good Morning Everyone
Just a quick club level question. Does anyone know if they have yogurt out in the morning for breakfast? Thanks

When we were at the BC in DEC/JAN we had to show our room key to get towels and wear bracelets, My kids kept them on their wrists all 10 days they had quite the collection of colors. Honestly I didn't think it was a big deal, plus I paid to be at that pool, so I was ok with them not letting those who didn't not in.

Anyone there now and could post the current Concierge menu for Saturdays???? :worship:

They don't have a published "set" menu anymore like they used to. I was there 2 Saturdays ago, and as I posted above - the main entree item was Kona Sticky Wings. It will probably stay that, but no guarantee since they stopped handing out the club menus now (I'm sure they did that to give themselves more flexibility if they need it). I can't remember what the other items were that night. Another night it was some kind of chicken drumsticks with rice and peanut sauce, and they still had the make-your-own lettuce wraps one night (hate that).

So there is no longer a current menu to post - they don't give one out.

Thank you for the information!:flower3: I am really hoping for kona wings, but if they aren't serving them we can order them somewhere else in the Resort I am sure. I believe we had them in the Kona Cafe last visit. 19 more days until our trip! YAHOO!

Good morning everyone!

I am sooooo craving some Tonga Toast from the Poly right now.

But moving on...

DH and I are going to drop the kids at the Neverland Club for a couple of hours and enjoy our first dinner at the Kona in October. I have heard such great reviews.:thumbsup2

Does anyone know if I can request a specific room? We are staying club level and are wondering which room we should ask for. I read somewhere that room 3503 is a good one.

Any suggestions?

This was the Saturday menu when we were there a month ago: Kona Café` Night – Kona salad w/fruit/blue cheese/citrus vinaigrette, garlic sticky wings, curry shrimp chowder.

Dick tweaks the menus as necessary, e.g. a salad instead of soup when it is very warm, but the menu when we were there was identical to the one used last year and posted previously in this thread. I have the other items for each day of the week, if you want to know, but I think the "menu" is posted early on in this thread. I'd be happy to post it again, however, if you can't find it. :thumbsup2

I'm new to staying at the Poly! Anyone not make ressies for restaurants at the Poly and have luck with walk ins? I plan on eating at all of the restaurants at the Poly if possible.

Immediately try to get a reservation for 'Ohana. They are very popular and go quickly. People with dinner ADRs still have a bit of a wait to get in. We did not have a wait for our breakfast ADR but had to be real flexible on the date and time when we booked it a little over 2 months before going in May - a mild crowd time.

In May Kona Cafe could accommodate early walk-in dinners. But I would not try that in the summer.

Captain Cook's is CS so no one has ADRs. We were fortunate and never hit a busy time there. Had one snack, two lunches and a dinner there.

If you want to do the Luau you are probably already too late.

PS I just reread your post and realize that you will be going during free dining. Get on the phone or on-line to Disney today!

Hello everyone!

I'm wondering if there is any kind of storage room under the beds? Are the beds high enough off the floor to store a suitcase, shoes, anything like that? I looked through the first few pages of pics on the Poly pics thread and I couldn't tell by the room pics how high they actually are.

Thanks!

I will be in Hawaii as well but no the ferry stops at the TTC which is literally adjacent to the Poly - if you are staying in some of the longhouses close to the TTC its very convenient.

The boat launch is very convenient to Hawaii - just on the other side of the pool!

The beds are on platforms and there is no storage under them. Sorry. . . :sad2:
