Just wanted to say.....4 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't done any packing yet..LOL :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi guys! I had a funny story to share with you :) I have been courting the idea of possibly doing Disneyland next year instead of WDW...but today I saw two interesting license plates: O-HANA and ILVPOLY. Do you think the tiki gods are trying to sway my decision? :lmao: Hope everyone is well!

:rotfl: I think that the decision has just been made for you!

Hi Johnsonet! I love this picture of the Tiki Gods! Brought a big smile to my face, thanks! I'd like to do DL someday, but I truly think things happen for a reason and I just can't imagine not being with Mickey Mouse by day, and not jumping on the monorail to go home to those white sand beaches and torches and flowers, and music and....oh, who am I kidding? I could go on all night! lissiesmum will indeed be coming home (after a short stint at POFQ, unless of course there is a 4/3 deal or magic pin offered!). Have a great evening everyone I'll be sitting here watching the rain fall...again...for the fourth week in a row. I feel like in live in Seattle lately :(

Yay! Glad you're heading back to the Poly :cool1: And I've heard great things about POFQ. That should be a fun split!
4 weeks of rain? Ouch!

Thanks! :thumbsup2 I was hoping they would be every night just to give us some flexibility in our schedule.

Good point. You never know what will come up at WDW and I hate when we miss something and then realize it was our only chance to do it that trip :headache:

How exciting  Better get packing!

I've been without a home computer for about 2 weeks and just got it back - total new hard drive - (note to self: kids need their own computer). anyway, just want to see my countdown. I can hardly wait to sit on the white sand beach, have an adult beverage, listen to the sounds, watch fireworks, see the torches... Happy 4th of July Poly Lovers!

We are returning for our third visit to the Polynesian in just 18 days! Our last stay there was in '06, so I have enjoyed reading this thread, which I considered to be my "refresher course" in all things Polynesian!

Anyway, when we were last there, Capt Cook's was being refurbished and was in a temporary location and generally annoying to deal with so we didn't eat there except once. Thinking it will be back to normal this trip, I was checking out the menu for it over on allears.net and I saw something called "Polynesian chips" listed. What exactly are those? I think I remember reading in the 160+ pages here that someone liked them, but I am still wondering what they are lol!!

lissiesmum - I agree the Tiki gods have spoken... Remember what happened to the Brady's when they disobeyed...

Polynesian chips = like potato chips. Not sure if they were potato, or something else - I thought they were kind of "eh". They come with the sandwiches.

Hi everyone! We're getting REALLY excited now - we're almost at the one month mark! Still can't believe we're going to be staying at the Poly :cool1:

Two questions:
1. I've heard conflicting info - can you get to other resorts (via bus) from the TTC? (Trying to figure out the best way from the Poly to the Beach Club...)
2. Do people go to the Kona Cafe just for dessert? Friends have told us about the Kona Kone and now I'm obsessed with trying to have as many as possible :rotfl2:

Thank you all for this wonderful thread - it's made me even more excited about our trip than I usually am - and I'm usually pretty excited :yay:

Ok, too funny about the Brady Bunch on their Hawaiian Vacation...I remember being so excited as a kid when that episode came on. It was my absolute favorite :) I will obey the tiki gods...I mean, how random is it that in one day, I see two license plates relating to the Polynesian, especially up here in little ole NH! I wonder if those people are on the dis (if you are, :wave2:). Now I'm going to have to do a search for that Brady episode :)

i don't think so - the beach club bus doesn't go to the ttc, it goes straight to the magic kingdom. So you could monorail or boat to mk, then take the bus from there.

you need an adr for kona (or you can try walking up, but i wouldn't reliably count on that) if you want to eat there. So if you want dessert there every night, i'd make a bunch of adrs!

Hi Poly Peeps!

Summer has been keeping me busy. I am enjoying the recent reviews! How I wish we had a live feed for 4th of July Fireworks like we did for NYE! That was so incredible.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and happy travels to all those getting ready to go

I am still keeping an eye out for next years rates...of course we are getting PIN codes galore that we can't use for the fall.

I hope the weather is shaping up where you all live...we have our ups and downs litterally. 98 last week 68 this week.:confused3 Oh well!

Everyone have a wonderful Independance Day Weekend! pixiedust:

Hi TTC? (Trying to figure out the best way from the Poly to the Beach Club...)
Well, regardless of the info you've read in the past, here is 100% dead solid fact. There are only 2 Disney Transport buses available to/from TTC. One is to/from Disney's Hollywood Studios, and one is to/from Animal Kingdom.

Period.

That's all.

No other Disney Transport buses.

There is no such thing as a Disney Transport bus that goes between a Disney owned-and-operated resort and the TTC.

Thank you! I knew I could get the facts straight from you guys :goodvibes

Hi everybody

I was trying to order water from Costco to have it shipped to us for this weekend's arrival, could somebody let me know if the following address is the correct address for having things shipped to you at the Poly:

Disney's Polynesian Resort
1600 Seven Seas Drive
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Thanks.

We are staying at the Poly MK view in December (so excited!), I have mobility issues and use a scooter to get around. Do the buildings have elevators? Is there a particular building that is better to request than another or should I just leave it to chance? If the buildings don't have elevatiors, I will need to request a ground floor. I know requests are just that but any advice wil be greatly appreciated.

All the Longhouses have elevators, although I am not the best expert on the Polynesian to say which one you should request.

Why not tell them what you need and let them assign based on that? I imagine you want easy access from the GCH, and probably a ground floor? Possibly also relatively close to____ ( the TTC? The volcano pool? You fill in the blank.)

Let them give you what's best based on the criteria you provide.

Close, but not exactly. Niue has no elevator, one has to use the Raratonga elevator and travel across to the 2nd floor of Niue if stairs are not an option.
