Anjalee: Hope your son gets better soon. It's so nerve-wracking when your kids are sick! My son has been home all this past week with a virus/flu: fever, vomiting,etc. He got better just in time for his 5th birthday, yesterday! It's funny, he was born on Super Bowl Sunday when the Steelers won & his birthday this year is just before another Steeler SB. My neighbor is a rabid Steeler fan (suggested we name DS Steeler when he was born) & he thinks this a good sign that Pittsburgh will win again. Didn't have the heart to tell him that my family is mostly from Indiana & are Green Bay all the way!

We finally made our reservations and will be staying at POR June 11-18. It will be Me, DH, MIL, DS 7 & DS 4. We were originally supposed to be going April 16-23, but airfare was just too expensive. We decided to brave the heat once again and go in June, it will save us almost $2000. We wanted to suprise the boys w/a trip to WDW, but when we told them we couldn't go in April anymore, they were just devistated. So instead, we told them we were going in June. We were able to keep one great suprise for them. We will be down there for the last weekend of Star Wars Weekends. My boys eat, breathe, and sleep Star Wars. We went to SWW during our first trip to WDW and the boys loved it. We keep telling them that we are going to miss SWW this trip. DH and I are taking bets now to see how long it will take them to realize it. Our plan is to show up to HS and see if see the sign or if they don't realize until the Stormtroopers come out. I'm going to have to have the video camera ready! We are hoping to get a good deal on airfare, since driving really isn't an option. Also hoping we don't miss anymore school due to snow, ds is already missing the last 2 days.

Glad to hear that we aren't the only crazies that will be driving. We are coming from the Chicago area, so I think about 20 hours. DH and I take turns driving when do road trips, so that is what we are planning again. We shall see how it goes, we have driven to Mexico twice straight through and were able to make that.(Even with a 3 month old!) I can't wait until June! It can't seem to come fast enough this year. Oh and it is snowing here again. Like we need more snow!

We are driving from the Charlotte, NC area with a 3 year old and a 1 year old who will not sleep in the car. I'm bringing noise canceling headphones for dh since he can take the crying lol.

Hi Anjalee so sorry your son is sick. But as with most children hopefully his recovery is quick. I think we all have had enough cold and/or wet weather. All I can say is "Come on June!"

I'm in PA, so right there in the "too much snow" club. We've had 8 snow days, and only have 2 written into the schedule! I keep laughing that now that we booked our trip (June 11-20) that now my kids may be taken out early only to have to go back to school AFTER we come home!

I went back to college this year, and the first semester was nothing by smooth sailing. Now I am 2 weeks into the second semester and it's turning into a nightmare. I spent the whole last week second-guessing my decision to go back to school, and did a whole bunch of crying over the things that have me frustrated.

Thank goodness we booked this trip - it really has been the only "fun" thing for me lately. my poor DH is going to go crazy listening to me plan, but it's better to have me talk about Disney than cry about school!

Ugh! Sorry that you are getting more snow. We haven't gotten a lot in our part of Maryland this year, but we did use all our snow days so I really don't want to make up anymore days so I agree...no more snow or at least just delayed openings! lol.

I agree. I can't wait for June. I can't wait to see my son's face when he sees that we booked the Pirate's League for him and after this weekend, I really need to see him smile. He is getting better though. Thanks for asking about him.

Can't wait for June either! I updated your information on page 1 of our thread. How great for you that you could add another day. We were so happy too when we found a way to stay an extra day. We will be there the same time as you. Maybe we will see you out and about.

And what about Star Wars weekends...when will they ever decide on the dates? I have a 10yr. old that is driving me CRAZY...of course I would like to know too.

Welcome to our group! I added your information to our list on page 1. You will be there during the last weekend of Star Wars weekend. You and your 10 year old must be happy about that. My husband and son wanted to go but we don't get out of school that early. Maybe one year!

Yeah DH will be thrilled since we missed it in 2009 by just 2 days. I guess I need to go back and tweak my plans though so we can be at DHS.

Also just wondering if anyone has booked the Wishes dessert party yet? I went into the online system but every date I put in it said it wasn't available, so does that mean the dates aren't up yet? I have never done it before so I am not sure when they post the dates.

Star Wars weekend here we come!!! DS is SSSSOOOO excited and I must say I am bit excited too! DH and DD aren't really thrilled so they are going to play a round of golf. DS and I can just be big nerds together... Geek power!!

We drive too but split it up into three hour shifts. We like it better that way. My husband could drive the whole way, but I don't like him to be cranky the next day so we can enjoy the first day of vacation without daddy being miserable.

We'll definitely split shifts on our drive too, but DH will probably do MOST of it since he'd rather drive then deal with kid demands. However with them being older, they can do so much more for themselves that it probably won't be an issue. As we've found our regular 7-8 hour drives are easier and easier each time, I expect this will be the same. The only unknown factor is how the kids will deal with having to get up so early since I know they most likely will NOT nap in the car. The youngest MIGHT...and DH most definitely WILL while I am driving though!
