When booking a deluxe room (2 queen beds) RPC, what's available in terms of views? Are there MK view rooms in this category? Also, are there lodge tower rooms in the Main Building?

No MK views for Deluxe rooms. Views are of the courtyard or beach pool with the Seven Seas lagoon in the background. There are also no tower lodge rooms; only a few turret rooms which are by request only when booking a Deluxe King.

Thanks!!

Now do I keep the deluxe queen RPC room I booked or do I get a standard room for a MK view (possibly). Decisions, decisions :lmao:

Thanks for the Christmas info BCV and Minniesota! I am so excited about being there for the holiday!

You were able to book a Deluxe Queen?:thumbsup2 I have faced that same dilemma a couple of times! We had a Deluxe Queen room in December one year and really enjoyed the extra space, the proximity to the lounge and the large wrap-around balcony. Though we didn't use the balcony much because it was chilly! Here was our view, the balcony and the sitting area:

Here is a castle view from a standard RPC room:

I know it's a request, but you'd have a pretty good chance of getting the castle view. On the other hand, the Deluxe Queen is a lovely room!

Do you remember your room number? Based on your view, I think we were in the room next door that shared the same little entrance hallway. Ours was 4322 if I'm not mistaken. Check my TR which should be updated very shortly and I think you'll see similarities in our views!

Minniesota, I was able to get the Deluxe Queen RPC room. I called and it was available, but never showed up on the website.

The photo is amazing! I LOVE the idea of a wrap around balcony. I guess I can skip the MK view for this trip. We had MK views at both the Poly CL and CR CL. The deluxe room looks huge!

Thanks!!

we suffered this same dilemma, lol. ;) we booked a deluxe queen RPC last march, for march 2010, through a travel agent. at the time, we did not realize we would have no chance of TPV with that room choice. long story short, things went downhill :headache: with the travel agent recently, AND she was unable to get us the 4/3 promotion, so we cancelled and went through disney. however, disney could only give us standard RPC rooms. they said we could keep calling back once we cancelled with the travel agent and try to get our deluxes back. all that said- knowing (after reading these boards all these months!) we would not have TPV with the deluxes, we are just going with the standard in hopes we could actually end up with TPV. we have only been to disney 3 times, and have only ever really seen the fireworks maybe twice. it would be a complete dream of mine and dh's to see the fireworks from the room (heck, even just seeing the castle from the room would be a dream come true). if we don't get TPV, then we will just be glad we are at disney. :cloud9: :rolleyes1

does anyone have any info about what percentage of RPC standard view queen rooms are castle view? i know that is a very specific question, but i am continually amazed by the info people contribute on here! :lovestruc

Hi! It is a dilemma, isn't it? We have usually opted for the standard rooms in hopes of getting the MK view but we often have connecting rooms so space isn't an issue. Anyway, to answer your questions, Rooms 4201-4209; 4301- 4309 and 4401-4409 are MK views. However, 4201-4209 are the Deluxe King
"honeymoon" rooms that sleep 2. So it looks like 18 regular standard rooms have the MK view. I'm not sure about the total number of standard queen rooms in RPC but if I had to guess, I'd say around 50. :confused3 Perhaps someone else has more specific info!

While I'd love a castle view, since it isn't guaranteed in a Standard RPC room, I'm probably just going to keep the deluxe room. The extra space is definitely a plus.

How much more space is in the RPC deluxe queen room vs the standard RPC room? Are standard RPC rooms the same size as SL rooms? Also, how many RPC deluxe queen rooms are there? And what floors are they on?

Hi Jen! I think you will love the extra space in the deluxe queen. The standard rooms are about 440 square feet and the deluxe queens are about 200 square feet larger. There's even be room for a Christmas tree! (If you follow that practice!):thumbsup2 And yes, the RPC and SL standard rooms are the same size. I'm not positive on the number of queen deluxe rooms - I know of 4 for sure. Here is a room layout of the two types of queen deluxe rooms. We've had Option 2 and loved it!:lovestruc

Just had to share my glee--my TA just booked DD10 and I for our Christmas 2010 trip to the Grand Floridian. My daughter wanted to stay here so bad we're skipping Disney this Christmas so we can stay at the GF next Christmas. Okay, well not necessarily 'skipping' because she wanted an iMac computer.

Anyways, still trying to decide what building we want to stay in but wanted to share my glee. :goodvibes

Thanks for this! Option 2 looks great, but I'll be more than happy with either. I'm just so glad I got at deluxe queen RPC room

Have you ever ordered a tree from the Disney Florist? I doubt I want to bring one from NYC :lmao:

How early do you contact the IPO?

Congrats!! I booked Saturday for December 2010. We can endure the long wait together :rotfl2:

Those are pics of Room 4422 so we were right above where you stayed. Do you have pics of your deluxe queen room that you are willing to post? I know lots of readers are interested in seeing those rooms!

Native NYer No help from me on the Disney Florist info...but as far as contacting IPO I would contact them about a month prior to when they need to make your ADRs( email is probably your best bet)...I think its back to 180 days...??? so about 7 months before your trip....and give them the list of ADRs that you would like them to make(we booked the cabanas thru them too..)I would follow up with a phone call a week before they are due to make them just to be sure they have everything in order......then they will email you your itinerary the day after they have them made...that has been our experience...nice and convenient...
