When booking a deluxe room (2 queen beds) RPC, what's available in terms of views? Are there MK view rooms in this category? Also, are there lodge tower rooms in the Main Building?

No MK views for Deluxe rooms. Views are of the courtyard or beach pool with the Seven Seas lagoon in the background. There are also no tower lodge rooms; only a few turret rooms which are by request only when booking a Deluxe King.
Thanks!!
Now do I keep the deluxe queen RPC room I booked or do I get a standard room for a MK view (possibly). Decisions, decisions![]()
You were able to book a Deluxe Queen?I have faced that same dilemma a couple of times! We had a Deluxe Queen room in December one year and really enjoyed the extra space, the proximity to the lounge and the large wrap-around balcony. Though we didn't use the balcony much because it was chilly! Here was our view, the balcony and the sitting area:

Here is a castle view from a standard RPC room:

I know it's a request, but you'd have a pretty good chance of getting the castle view. On the other hand, the Deluxe Queen is a lovely room!
Thanks!!

we suffered this same dilemma, lol.we booked a deluxe queen RPC last march, for march 2010, through a travel agent. at the time, we did not realize we would have no chance of TPV with that room choice. long story short, things went downhill
with the travel agent recently, AND she was unable to get us the 4/3 promotion, so we cancelled and went through disney. however, disney could only give us standard RPC rooms. they said we could keep calling back once we cancelled with the travel agent and try to get our deluxes back. all that said- knowing (after reading these boards all these months!) we would not have TPV with the deluxes, we are just going with the standard in hopes we could actually end up with TPV. we have only been to disney 3 times, and have only ever really seen the fireworks maybe twice. it would be a complete dream of mine and dh's to see the fireworks from the room (heck, even just seeing the castle from the room would be a dream come true). if we don't get TPV, then we will just be glad we are at disney.

does anyone have any info about what percentage of RPC standard view queen rooms are castle view? i know that is a very specific question, but i am continually amazed by the info people contribute on here!![]()
While I'd love a castle view, since it isn't guaranteed in a Standard RPC room, I'm probably just going to keep the deluxe room. The extra space is definitely a plus.
How much more space is in the RPC deluxe queen room vs the standard RPC room? Are standard RPC rooms the same size as SL rooms? Also, how many RPC deluxe queen rooms are there? And what floors are they on?
Hi Jen! I think you will love the extra space in the deluxe queen. The standard rooms are about 440 square feet and the deluxe queens are about 200 square feet larger. There's even be room for a Christmas tree! (If you follow that practice!)And yes, the RPC and SL standard rooms are the same size. I'm not positive on the number of queen deluxe rooms - I know of 4 for sure. Here is a room layout of the two types of queen deluxe rooms. We've had Option 2 and loved it!

Just had to share my glee--my TA just booked DD10 and I for our Christmas 2010 trip to the Grand Floridian. My daughter wanted to stay here so bad we're skipping Disney this Christmas so we can stay at the GF next Christmas.Okay, well not necessarily 'skipping' because she wanted an iMac computer.
Anyways, still trying to decide what building we want to stay in but wanted to share my glee.![]()
Congrats!! I booked Saturday for December 2010. We can endure the long wait together![]()
Thanks! So glad to realize I'm not alone with the looonnnggg wait.![]()
Do you remember your room number? Based on your view, I think we were in the room next door that shared the same little entrance hallway. Ours was 4322 if I'm not mistaken. Check my TR which should be updated very shortly and I think you'll see similarities in our views!
