Speaking of the launches, one of my best memories is when DD and I decided to just ride the launch around the Seven Seas Lagoon. It was a beautiful evening and we thought it would be fun to be out on the water looking at the lights from the resorts an MK. We ended up on the water at the same time as the Electric Water Parade and our captain had to stop and idle during the parade. We were so close to the lighted floats! It was amazing and so unexpected!

Hi there....Can you take the monorail from GF to the MK stop and then transfer to the "express" monorail to the TTC?

By the way...I do not like the walk from Poly to TTC either! I also thought it was just me lol

What time does the electric water parade usually pass by the GF?

One more question! Do you get a closer view of the MK fireworks from the Poly beach or the GF beach? Thanks!

That's an option you can do, however I think you would be better off staying on the Resort Monorail. After it leaves at the Maigc Kingdom it's a quick stop at the Contemporary and then you arrive at the TTC.

As for the Electrical Water Pageant, it's scheduled to go by the Grand Floridian at 9:15 PM.

DH and I are booked for standard TPV at GF for Dec 2010 for 4 nights.

So I just checked the WDW website for my reservation and it is saying we are booked in a 1 Bedroom Villa :confused3

Anyone else have this happen to them and if so was it a mistake on the website?

If not a mistake is it an upgrade?

TIA

I've heard of this happening to a number of people lately and it's apparently a glitch in the website. The GF doesn't even have villas! Suites, yes but no villas. Hopefully, the system will be fixed....eventually!

I finally updated my TR with pictures of the Grand Floridian. The link is in my signature. Enjoy!

I just emailed the GF IPO and was told that there are 6 rooms in Sugar Loaf with king beds. Can anyone tell me about these rooms? Are they regular sized rooms? What sort of view do they have? I'm trying to decide between making a request for one of these king bed rooms or one of the tower lodge rooms. Thanks!!!

I have the same thing listed. I called and the CM told me it was because of the upgrade happening to the res. system it is a default. I got excited too, but it is nothing ;)

Great memory, minniesota. I love the launches any time of day but they are extra magical after dark, aren't they? :boat:

The view of Wishes from the GF beach is blocked by Big Pine Key. You could probably walk toward the wedding chapel and watch from that part of the beach. The best places to watch at the GF are the dock by Narcoossee's and the entire marina area including right in front of Gasparilla's.

GF is closer to the fireworks than the Polynesian. However, it's a sideways view to an extent. At the Polynesian, the fireworks are perfectly centered around the castle.

Sorry if this has been asked but does anyone know if you can use the Disney Dining Plan at the Grand Floridian Tea? Just curious as we're on the Deluxe DDP and wanted to allocate our ADRs accordingly.

Yes, I am one of those crazy planner types. I'm an engineer--it's in my blood. :lmao:

Thanks so much!

Happy planning!:surfweb:

MsStinkerBelle My DD and I love the afternoon tea at the GF...I wasnt sure about if it was part of the DDP or not..thanks for the answer to that BCV...but probably a better value to pay OOP any way...I think planning is half the fun...:goodvibes

Hi BCV...:)

jlindley I think that all of the rooms in SL are the same size with the exception of those lodge tower rooms (which there are only 3 of btw)...the extra space is very nice..it is a bump out that has a small sofa, chair, coffee table and an extra television in an amoire...very nice...additionally it is all windows ...so gives thespace a very open and bright feel...I guess it just depends on if you want the bigger bed or extra floor space....nice either way..the GF has good sized rooms...:cloud9:

We recently stayed in RPC and loved the toiletries. We have a reservation for a standard garden view room. Does any way know if they have the same toiletries in non club-level?

Yes, all the GF rooms have the H2O line of toiletries! Aren't they wonderful? They include Sea Marine Revitalizing Shampoo, Marine Collagen Conditioner, Sea Salt Body Wash, Hydrating Body Butter and Mint Foot Rub and two types of soap - one glycerin. We love them!:lovestruc

While we have always had the H2O products in the GV rooms, we have never gotten the body butter or the foot rub.

ETA: Hi Blue Skies and Minniesota- sorry about your Twins :( Darn Yankees! lol
