We have booked a theme park view room with a request for Conch Key. Can someone tell me what floor is best to request when I fax my requests in? Also, if there is a better building for a castle view, please tell me!

Do the concierge level rooms have MK views? Is it possible to get these? If so, what building would it be? I have never stayed at GF, but I am thinking about booking a long trip and wanted a little more information about club level and what my room view options are. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you!

For the person who asked about Marina vs. Lagoon, the Marina is considered a Garden View (no extra charge.) Lagoon is on the opposite side and is specifically bookable as a upcharge. Our Garden View on last stay had a partial view of the Lagoon over Narcoossee's, and it was nice to see the EWP (Electic Water Parade.) A full lagoon view would probably be really nice.

We have reserved (and paid for) a Lagoon view... Hoping for Boca Chica.... or Big Pine - I think people have said that those are the best for Lagoon views...

is that right?

Thanks for the answer - I wanted to make sure that we wouldn't be facing the boats...

Just wanted to say that I'm going for my 1 year anniversary too!!!!! I still have 26 days to go, I can hardly wait! I've been looking into private dining and custom cakes and everything, I called about a private cake and was told to make final arrangments for that around two weeks ahead of time.

I've planned out two mini anniversary cakes for us, one with white chocolate mousse like we had at our wedding and one with peanut butter mousse like DH had in his grooms cake (yuk!)

We're also going for massages at the spa, doing a fireworks cruise and doing the dolphins in depth tour...all in four days! It will be a busy weekend!

Sounds like you are going to have a great time!

I have an additional question after doing some research. Is the main buildings' club level the "Royal Palm Club" and then there is a separate club lounge in Sugar Loaf building? Why is there such a price difference in the room rates between the Royal Palm Club & Sugar Loaf Club?

Carol'sDisney - everyone seems to agree that Conch Key and Sago Cay have very good TPV views; there are some who prefer the TPV in Boca Chica, and there are a few TPV rooms on the end of Big Pine Key, but there are not that many. I can't really help on what floor is the best, both of the TPV rooms we've had were on the third floor, which was a good level, I thought.

jkstewart1800 - the lagoon views from Boca Chica will look out towards the Contemporary, while the lagoon views in Big Pine look towards the Poly. Both are very nice, but I prefer the ones in Big Pine. That's only personal preference, however - many people like Boca!;)

mbcary -They both have the same food offerings, and you get the same CM assistance with dining reservations and activities bookings. The main difference between the two is location. The rooms in Sugar Loaf all look over the marina or the courtyard, there are none that look at the lagoon or theme park. In RPC, you may have a view of the MK, or the courtyard, or the themed pool and wedding pavilion.

RPC is in the main building, and you get to be an elevator ride away from the monorail, shopping and most of the restaurants. You get to hear the lobby pianist, or the band in the afternoon/evening from the lounge.

Sugar Loaf is located in an outer building; their lounge is a bit less quiet, can be a little more crowded, but it is closer to the outdoor amenities, like the marina and boat dock, courtyard pool.

Thanks K&A&C's Mom! That's exactly what I needed to know.

Does anyone know what buildings MK (Theme Park) views are from??

There are TPV rooms in Sago Cay, Conch Key, Boca Chica and Big Pine Key. Of course, there are Club Level rooms in the Main Bldg. (Royal Palm Club) with theme park views as well.

Julia - k&a&c'smom explained the views perfectly but I wanted to add my photos. We had some very nice Lagoon views from our room in Big Pine Key last May.

I also LOVE Boca Chica :cloud9:

I have a security question concerning the Grand.
I read somewhere that the balconies are not private. What does this mean? Do multiple rooms share one balcony? If that is the case, then anyone could come to your sliding doors. If that's true....does that make anyone else feel uncomfortable?

Well it is like a long balcony divided into sections, so the balconies are mostly private. They are only divided by a thin wall, there is a gap of about a foot from the floor. Think sort of like a bathroom stall for lack of a better description. I'm pretty sure it was like that at AKL too. You don't have to worry about other guests being able to get to your room because it's still separated, but you may see or hear them if you were outside. The sliding doors all have two locks on them anyway, so we never felt unsafe.

I think when people say Private balconies they may mean the ones that are completely solid and you can't see through them, like the dormer rooms at the GF or WL.

mbcary - Glad I could help!:goodvibes

johnsonet - :wave2: Thanks for posting your photos, I love that view!

I am planning a trip for december or january and I know I will need childcare for my boyfriends 2 year old daughter. I know she will have loads of fun during the day, but Im thinking we can get in room childcare at night so we can go on rides EMH she likes to go asleep every night by 7pm, so I was thinking of doing the platium plan that says it includes in room childcare. I was wondering if anyone has used it and what you liked and disliked.

Thanks so much
Sarah

I am such a ditz.... I meant Conch Key - we have a lagoon room reserved and I am requestion Conch Key - hoping it may have a bit of the view of the MK....

I'm looking at an overhead picture of the area on Google Maps and I don't think a strictly lagoon view is possible in Conch Key. Either you're looking at the pool/courtyard, the marina or directly at the castle. From what I can see, the only buildings that offer a lagoon view are Boca Chica and Big Pine Key. I'm no expert, and I could be dead wrong, but looking at the map, you can see that any view other than a garden view at Conch Key is gonna be a full-on view of the castle.
