Thanks to everyone who replied to my rant!! Sometimes I'm afraid that I'm too mature for my age or something like that... I think way too much anyways...

Congrats to Sam!! I'm the chairperson of this one group (it's not anything athletic, just a leadership organization) so I know that it's hard to be a leader. Bunches of people always hating what you decide... oh well!!

Tons of PD to everyone in Florida and Georgia and the Carolinas!!!! I'll definitely be checkin' up on the weather this weekend!!

ETA: Thanks for the breakfast!! It was delicious!! Especially without all the calories!!

Cheeringmom congrats to Sam. I'm sure she will make an excellent captain and it will be a great learning curve for her.
My friends house is in Osceola, about 10 miles from Orlando airport. Looking at the current predictions it looks like he will just catch the edge of Frances. The weather will be bad but I don't think he will be in an evacuation zone. I will see his wife and daughter again tonight so hopefully they will have spoken to him today and we will know a little more.

I have been at teacher open houses for the past 2 nights plus scout stuff.. our boy cout popcorn goes on sale on the 11th, so i have a bunch to do to get the boys from the troop ready..

This weekend we are pretending to be DanaUK and Pete and work on repairing the ceiling in the family room - it got wrecked when the toilet upstairs broke and flooded the floor...

DHSsenior hope you have a better day today! Sometimes I just want to grab all of humanity and shake some sense into them/us!

Have I mentioned lately that I'm REALLY ANOYED with America West Airlines! In order for us to make changes or cancel our trip without any fees for penalties we have to wait for them to cancel the flight.....which they aren't doing at this point! ARG! If we go ahead and cancel now we get a 'credit' for the price of our tickets, whenever we would use that credit we would have to pay a $100 per ticked 'rebooking' fee as well as any price difference between the credit and the rate we would be paying for new tickets. They are only waiving the fee if you re-book in the month of September....and since we're going in October it just doesn't make sense to push the trip back a week.

Well, my brain hurts, guess I'll go to work and give it a rest!

Well, tonight is our second football game!! We're doing a pom-routine to "My Sharona" and it's really fun!! Today was a better day, thanks for the well-wishes!! Oh, in all of my excitement (har-dee-har-har) yesterday, I forgot to tell ya'll that I got my drill team pictures in!! Would ya'll want to see them??

PD to everyone affected in someway or another by Frances!! I just heard that airlines have canceled about 200 flights for both today and tomorrow.

I spoke to the wife of my friend who is in Orlando right now. Aparently he has made a safe room with matresses and duvets in the downstairs closet and has boarded up all the windows on the house. He is OK with the situation but his friend is scared. I'm sure they will be OK though.

Tonight I had to go and volunteer at the theatre we nad a band and choir playing and singing which was quite good. Next weekend we have a comedian in who should be quite funny as well. I was talking to my friend Jon who is also a teacher and Disney nut. I had forgotten that he would be in Orlando when Charlie hit (he was doing a month tour of America and I couldn't remember exactly where he was at that point.) He was in the Holiday Inn on I drive where apparently they sent some of the Wilderness campground guests (he felt safe knowing Disney had chosen to send people there.) He said it was OK and he felt safe but could see tornados and bright green lightening from his room. He was also amazed at the number of idiots who were out on their balconies filming the whole thing whilst roof tiles were flying over their heads He said it didn't ruin his holiday though and is going back at Easter. He really wants to stay on site now so we are both jealous of one another. I have stayed on site and will again. He will have made 2 more trips to Florida before I next go!!

Oh well it is late here and I need to be up in the morning to get ready for the wedding.

Hey everyone!!

It's so quiet!!! No posts since 5 o'clock last night!! What's happening?

Well, in my world, we won our game last night 24-12, the halftime show was okay, but now my throat really hurts... I don't know why. Maybe all the screaming...

My most recent realization is that for the past week, I've been so concerned about getting a date for the homecoming dance while people in Florida and those states near it have been concerned about Frances and if they will live through it. And then in Russia where that school was taken hostage, and by the end of today they [Russian officials] are estimating that over 200 people, over half of them children, will have past away from the roof collapsing and injuries. I seem so insignificant in this huge, huge world. But what else can I say now? Nothing... I mean... all of my problems are microscopic, I've never really had anything huge happen to me, and I don't really want it to, if it was bad that is.

Oh, now I'm jabbering. Sorry!!!

And it's terrible what happened to that school in Russia and also about Hurricane Frances, but you count too and are NOT INSIGNIFICANT. So you have no reason to feel guilty over things that you cannot control.... but it does show your maturity and sweetness that care so much. My 10 yr old son accidentally saw clips of the hostages on the news yesterday and was very upset with the graphics they showed It's beyond me how militants could take over a school and put the lives of innocent children in danger...

Now, do US a favor and post those cute drill team pictures you promised!

Speaking of moving.....that's what's happened to my vacation!
America West airlines STILL HAS NOT CANCELLED the flight, even though it and Frances are due in Tampa at the exact same time. However, PixieMagic and I won't be on that puppy! There is still hope they will cancell later today and it will give us the opportunity to use the tickets in January without the $100 rebooking fee. Otherwise, we'll call right before flight time and cancel.

So now it's a road trip to Disneyland!! A couple of three nights at the Grand Californian is a pretty nice consolation prize. PixieMagic will be buying an AP (I probably will too). I had planned to buy an AP next spring to do some trips over during the big birthday celebrations of 2005.
