All of the great information on this thread has convinced us - WE ARE STAYING AT THE CONTEMPORARY!!!!!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
:thumbsup2:yay:

Wow, you've already changed your signature, too!

If you stay in a GW/Garden View category, make sure you request a ground floor room facing Bay Lake - you'll love it:lovestruc. You'll also love the walkway to the MK and your kids will have to try out the arcade;).

Have a great vacation and we'll all be waiting for your CR/TRpopcorn::.

So, I've just read through all the messages on this thread (and its predecessor) -- thanks to everyone for your great info & beautiful pics.

We have reserved a Garden Deluxe room for Nov. 24 - 27, 2010 (prior to a cruise). We're very excited as this is our first stay on-property.

I've seen the photos of the room, but does anyone have a link to the floorplan? I'm trying to figure out how it fits in that oddly shaped space.

Thanks!

Diane

Can anyone help me with this? We are currently booked with a split stay in ASMusic Family Suites for one week when we'll have 3 adults and 2 kids - moving to WL the 2nd week after one of the adults leave. I've always loved the idea of staying at the Contemporary, but wondered about the price/value. Has anyone stayed in one of the Garden Wing rooms with 3 adults and 2 kids or have an opinion on if this is comfortable space-wise or not? THANKS for any input!!!

We stayed in GW with 2 adults and 2 teens. Plenty of room for us. You'd have to have one adult sleep with one child, but if that works, then you'll be fine. Hardest part will be the bathroom, as with any group of 5 sharing.

FWIW, we stayed GW and in a 2nd floor room, to boot. it was beautiful and we didn't have a balcony or patio. There is a DSA along the walkway to the GW but it really wasn't bad. It's a large walkway and you can swerve out around if it bothers you. I AM bothered by smoke and I didn't find it a problem. You get inconsiderate people in the main building, too, who use their balconies for smoking, etc. Please don't be scared away from GW. I think it gets a bad rep. For us, we booked late and there were no tower rooms, left, save a king room, which we couldn't use (they only sleep 3). We were initially disappointed about the GW but it was completely unwarranted.:)

Hi Diane :)

It looks like the Garden Wing Deluxe room is a fairly rare bird...I can't dig up anything on it myself...better leave this for the experts. I know it is not an actual 2 room suite but has a little different shape to it and there are only a few rooms like them. The only floor plan site that had any reference to it showed it to be the same as the other rooms, but I don't think that is quite the case.

here is another page that has floorplans

Congratulations on your trip!!! :yay:

Woot! :cheer2: Congratulations!

I hope you have a fantastic time! For my wife and me the Contemporary IS Disney...we just can't imagine staying anywhere else anymore. Don't get me wrong...there is definitely plenty of Disney magic all over the place in the other hotels. For us though, it has gotten to the point that we get the same misty-eyed feeling when we first set eyes on the CR that we do when we first see Cinderella's Castle each trip. :lovestruc

Hi All-

Great thread, very informative!

We are staying for the first time at CR Theme Park View in about 28 days, so excited. We got a great rate, using the 40% code that I couldn't pass up. Looking forward to being on the Monorail line especially with little ones. Thanks for all the great information. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the great info here. My wife and i are taking our belated honeymoon at Disney in a few days. I booked us a theme park view room on the 12th floor atrium level, and my reservation says two bedroom villa. Does anyone have the floorplan or pics because I could not find them anywhere here. Anyway its my wife's first time at Disney, and I have not been back in over ten years so we are both excited. :cool1:

If you're looking up the reservation online it's not a two bedroom villa. Originally for my families reservation in August 2009 we had Magic Kingdom View - Atrium Club room reserved and that's what was said on our printed e-mai confirmation. However when I looked it up on the WDW website it said a two bedroom villa. So when I went to call CRO they confirmed it was a Magic Kingdom View - Atrium Club room, which means they have not fixed this problem with their website. Anyway I would check the confirmation they e-mailed you which should have the correct information.

Ok I checked, the email did say Atrium Magic Kingdom, even though the website had the same error you stated. I am relieved actually. Because we want a King bed and the two bedroom has two queens. As long as we get the view for the fireworks then we are happy.

:welcome: to the DIS and the CR thread!

csaribay (was or is a CM?) posted this last month:

"You'll also want to take into consideration that the availability of king beds is very limited, and not guaranteed except in the garden wing, where there is a separate category that can be book that specifies a guaranteed king bed.

The tower on any given side has about five king beds out of 150 rooms. They aren't guaranteed and cannot be guaranteed for any reason..."

It's good to know that you're relieved and have a great time staying at the Contemporary. :thumbsup2

I went to the Contemporary as a young boy and its one of my most cherished memories. I am so excited. I may even buy the Monorail playset for my desk... shhh don't tell anyone.
