Now, that's just personal experience. When I stayed in the tower last month, I did not hear any of that. I was on the 10th floor, dead center on the MK side. We did hear train whistles, but nothing else. However, once we were up, we STILL did not hear any "tower" noise inside our room (i.e. no noise from the concourse, monorail, chef mickey's etc.)

That's why they make earplugs my friend. I don't even TRY to sleep in hotels without them. :thumbsup2 Heck, I don't even try to sleep at HOME without them anymore...
It is personal, my DD and DH hear NOTHING. We were 11th floor toward BLT last year and I was always up by 0600 (luckily, the gym opens then;)). We even sleep with the AC fan running all night. I have to say, it's probably the quietest WDW resort I've been in - I'm just super sensitive or maybe I'm just always excited about getting the day started there:hyper:.

I just updated the 1st page with the information you posted.
Noticed this is still lingering in the Olympiad info:

..."and the tanning bed is $8 per 20 minutes (with a 20 minute maximum)"

Just don't want that poor CM to hear complaints from those very pale people about the non-existent tanning beds!

I just erased that information and thank you for noticing these little things, because I do want to keep the information upated as much as possible.

You're welcome.

:cool2:The tanning beds seem so 80's-ish:smooth:. I wonder when they last even had any? The CM said she has never seen them.

You're welcome, everyone! :thumbsup2
This forum is a big reason why I was able to plan such a wonderful vacation for my family, so I figured I owed you guys! ;)

Here are a few other Contemporary pics I took from the past week...

In the first one, you'll notice the "other" fenced-off area near the pool. I have no idea what they're doing to this area, as I was unable to get a straight answer from any of the CM's. The only thing they did confirm to me was that the kid's splash play area was going into the fenced-off area next to the waterslide (btw - this photo was taken from our first room - 4101 - the room that is closer to Chef Mickeys than any other room @ the Contemporary)..

Welcome to Disney! My name is Kayoko. How may I help you today?
you: hey
Kayoko: Good afternoon.
you: I am wondering if i am staying at Disney's contemporary resort would i be able to go on the Skybridge Connecting Bay Lake tower and the Contemporary?
Kayoko: No. Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is only open to guests staying in those accommodations. A Key to the World is required to access the skybridge between locations.
you: So if i use my Contemporary KTWC in the sky bridge it wont work
you: That is not fair why can a person staying at another hotel Use My Hotel'
you: Ammenties
you: and i cant use theres?
Kayoko: There are no amenities offered at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort that you don't have at your own Resort.
you: I dont have a top of the lounge to watch fireworks
Kayoko: That lounge is only offered for Disney Vacation Club members, not guests in general.
you: Would that cause lots of traffic
you: only BLT guest can use the sky bridge
Kayoko: Any guest is more than welcome to book a dining reservation at The California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort near fireworks times.
you: So ur saying my Hotel will be over packed with Double the Guest

Re: Polynesian Alex's post:

I guess I don't really understand why not being able to access the Skybridge if you're not a BLT guest is a big deal. I mean, really, why would you need to, if you're not staying there? It just leads to guest rooms. :confused3

If you're wanting to use the pool (providing the pools will indeed be shared), then why wouldn't you just go to the ground level and enter that way? You have to go down there anyway, and by limiting access to the bridge there aren't all kinds of non-guests roaming around on the guest room floors.

It's important to remember that BLT and CR aren't two separate resorts, they're both part of the Contemporary, just as BCV, BWV and VWL are, for example. None of those DVC sections have any "extra" amenities as far as a restaurant, spa or shops -- they're just rooms and a pool.

And the BLT won't double the number of guests at the CR ... remember the wing had 295 or so rooms before it was demolished. Granted, there are more DVC villas now than there were rooms in the past, but it still won't double the amount of people using the CR amenities.

I don't think it will be as "bad" as you're thinking it will be. And I thought you liked BLT ... you were the one who started the FAQ thread. Have you changed your mind?

Looking at your conservation I am not sure that Cast Member knows what's going on with the ammenties of Bay Lake Tower. Besides the Sky Bride he never mentioned the Bay Lake Tower pool and how Contemporary guests won't have access to it, but Bay Lake Tower guests have access to the Contemporary pool. So I think the best thing is to wait until Bay Lake Tower opens on August 4th to see what will really happen.

However I am friends with a Cast Member who works as a baker in the Contemporary, who also happens to be a DVC member and he told me Contemporary guests will have access to the Sky Bride and to the Bay Lake Tower pool. I know others might not tend to believe him, however the fact he is a DVC member leads me to believe he knows more about DVC then any regular Cast Member giving out that information or DVC Cast Members themselves. The fact that he is a Cast Member for the Contemporary is a bonus because he has seen for himself what's been going on there.

Hmm... I guess Kayoko felt your last question was rhetorical and therefore she didn't need to answer it?

I'm wondering along with Pixie921 if you're no longer the BLT cheerleader:cheer2:? Are you staying at the CR soon and you're worried about the increased BLT crowd levels interfering with your stay:crowded:?

That's always our favorite, of course we split between that and Poly.

I don't think we'll notice much of a difference since BLT has their own pool and 1-bedrooms and up have their own laundry. Maybe the studio guests will have to use the CR's laundry? (which is already too small.)

At least the Contempo Cafe is now open and bigger than when it was the Food 'N Fun, that should help.
