I think the Wildlife Discovery Tour for CL is offered Tue.- Sat. at 1000 and 2:00 (or 1:00?) for $50/PP and lasts one hour. Yes, the IPO can book it 90 days out.

I added the information about the Wildlife Discovery Tour on the 1st page in the Club Level section.
That was quick!

Actually, it doesn't have to be booked directly with the AK IPO. The CR IPO (or any other CL IPO) will book it for you as a CL guest.

Oh really because that's what is said on wdwinfo. I guess I can add something extra to what is said on the link.

Edit: I just added a sentence saying you can also make reservations with the Contemporary IPO.

I noticed that when I clicked-on the link. They must have mixed it up with the Sunrise Safari that's only for AK guests, and therefore has to be booked through the AK IPO.

The CR/GF IPO was going to book it for us, but we changed our minds on doing it. When I switched our reservation from GF to CR in Feb., she remembered I was interested and asked again about it when I sent my booking requests and she noticed that WD wasn't on it.

I changed the link and added the information from Allearsnet, then under that I added a sentence saying reservations can be made by contacting the Contemporary IPO Cast Members.

:surfweb:Noticed a few things on the Olympiad Gym from the CR FAQ that aren't quite right;):

"On the third floor of the resort, an Olympiad fitness center is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Here you will find Nautilus equipment, 6 Life Circuit Stations, 11 Cybex Stations, hand weights up to 50 lbs., Stairmasters, Life Cycles, treadmills, sauna, massages, whirlpool, and tanning booths. Personal training is available by appointment only. Open to all Walt Disney World Resort guests, membership costs are:$12 per person, per day; $20 for the Guest Length of Stay, $40 for Family Length of Stay and the tanning bed is $8 per 20 minutes (with a 20 minute maximum).Use of the facilities for Disney Vacation Club members is complimentary."

Should be "the" not "an" after the first comma in the first sentence.

Also, it states there is a sauna, whirlpool and tanning booths in there, but there are not (at least to my knowledge.)

And, it says there is a "membership fee", but that it's "complimentary for DVC". Actually, it's free to ANY CR resort guest, not just DVC.

:confused3Oh, and CRRF4L might want to add to the "Laundry" section in the FAQ that the washers and dryers only accept room keys as payment.

Alright guys, since it looks like it's going to take me a few days before I have time to post a Trip Report, I figured I'd share the Contemporary Pool Area Rehab pics I took this past Monday (5/4).

This is my first attempt at posting pics, so hopefully this works...

Here are a few shots of the pool area taken from the balcony of our room on the 9th floor:

As you can see, there are 2 main fenced-off areas being worked on. One of them is the kids splash play area (I was told this is the area right beneath the waterslide). I couldn't get a straight answer on what the other fenced-off area is going to be. Also, you'll notice a lot of new landscaping, including several palm trees that still have their palms bundled up.

Here are the shots I took of Bay Lake Tower from our balcony:

Hope the pics are helpful!

I know this is going to sound like a dumb question (don't laugh)but...if you are staying on the Bay Lake side, how do you get to the monorail?

take an elevator to the 4th floor (grand concourse), get out, then take either the escalator or separate monorail elevator to the monorail level (which is located on the 5th floor, but can only be acessed from the 4th floor). there are signs everywhere for the monorail escalators/elevators. you can't/won't miss them.

Your pictures look great so thanks for posting them.

I dont know if it has been brought up before but I was wondering if anybody has brought or thought about bringing a Nintendo Wii. We will be at the contemporary this summer and I was just wondering if this would be possible or if anybody has done this and would like to share their experience.

WDWKOOK,
I made those changes that you mentioned however I believe they do have a sauna, whirlpool and tanning booths, so I did not erase that information. So if someone who is going to the Contemporary very soon can confirm that or I can see for myself when I am there this August.

I just wanted to add with the Monorail level being where it is, that's why there are no Magic Kingdom View's on the 5th floor.

oasispaul, thanks so much for posting your photos! I know a lot of us have been waiting for any kind of update, and your pictures were great. :goodvibes I love all the new landscaping going in! :thumbsup2

This is from the Disney World website in the CR section:

Olympiad Fitness Center

"Located on the third floor of the Contemporary Tower. This spa and salon offers massage therapy, skin care, body treatments, steam rooms, saunas and the latest in fitness equipment including free weights, treadmills, elypticals, bicycles and stair climbers. Lockers are available."

I don't know why they call The Olympiad a "spa and salon." The salon is next door to the Olympiad and I wouldn't call one or two massage tables a "spa." It doesn't mention tanning booths or whirlpools, and I've never seem them in the gym, but I've also not seen the steam room in there. I have seen the massage rooms. I'm not even sure where they would fit those things in there, unless it's in the bathroom:confused3, which I 've never used.

:idea:Maybe I should give them a call later today.
