Slider locks: yes, there are two locks on the slider one near the handle and one higher up on the door. They lock independent of each other so you need to manually lock/unlock both.

Peace.

That is good news. I am terrified of those balconies, I do not like heights. My kids laugh at me trying to get out there - I am fine once I am seated.

Last summer at the Poly, DD tried to go out the balcony one night, but luckily the heavy curtains blocked her from finding the door. Another night, she tried to go out the door to the room, but the dead bolt stopped her.

Is it the same way in Bay Lake Tower? I am getting conflicting reports.

Which rooms are the convention guests placed?
Guests on convention reservations will be placed in either the Tower or Garden Wing room when they check-in, because that's why their rates are so low. So basically they do not get to pick the room type and view they want like guests who make regular reservations for their vacations.

Which rooms are the convention guests placed?
In our experience, they always seem to be in the Tower rooms, usually on the same floor. However, there are "Hospitality Suites" in the Garden Wing that I assume they might use as well for entertaining:confused3

We're just back from a week at the Contemporary (Jan 25 - Feb 1), we booked a MK view tower room and we were upgraded to the Atrium club on the 12th floor  We had a wonderful trip and are still visiting my parents in Dade City until Feb 14th but I will try to start my trip report and dining review as soon as possible. We had the DxDDP and loved it. We had excellent service everywhere we went and had a couple of Magical Moments:wizard: If anyone has questions I'll be happy to answer. I am looking forward to being able to actually provide meaningful contributions to discussions insteading of lurking and asking questions  The crowds were super light and most rides were totally walk on. The trip was worth every penny we spent :thumbsup2

Wow, what an upgrade AND no lines. This must be a great time of year to go (if you don't have kids in school;)).

The DxDP AND club level?! How did you manage:laughing: Just curious if there were any monorail issues? There were reports recently of some problems.

This sounds like a trip you'll never forget:) Thanks for checking-in with us!

No monorail issues, it often paused for a couple of minutes and they would announce that they were waiting for traffic clearance. No big deal. We only had to stand maybe once coming back from MK after the fireworks. I figure we were the most economical family to upgrade since we had the DxDDP to follow:thumbsup2

Thanks for posting your review and congragulations on the upgrade. Also did you still get the Magic Kingdom View on the 12th floor since that was your original reservation.

Hey sweetpea I haven't forgot about you or Lissiemum. I've been busy with Mardi Gras, The Superbowl and everything with the New Orleans Saints. I will be back on track once all of this is over until then i'm enjoying the ride
