Just saw Fantasy in the Sky from 12th floor of Contemporary. Actually, we saw it last night also, and we had to see it again.

It was one of the best fireworks shows we've ever seen at Disney. Considering the perimeter effects, I have to admit that Contemporary is THE BEST place to see MK's New Years Eve fireworks.

Today my family and I finally got our August 2010 confirmation sent via e-mail and I noticed that our bounceback rate was less expensive then I thought. The total cost is $349.00 per night when you factor in the extra $25.00 for the 3rd adult, so the before that the cost for the Atrium Club - Bay Lake View with the bounceback rate is really $324.00 per night. It turns that the $392.62 number I posted earlier in my trip review was the cost of our 1st night deposit.

We have stayed many, many times Concierge level at the Contemporary. Now that we are DVC members our future stays will be at the BLT.

Looking at the pictures of the CL lounge area makes DH and I sad because we have had so many wonderful times up there. We will miss all the great people who have worked up there for years (specifically Al). It will be so strange being on property and not seeing their faces everyday. At least we will still be able to see an old familiar Bartender's face ...since Brucie is over at the BLT lounge (not that she worked on the CL, but at least she's a familiar face)!

Fingers crossed we will make it back up there someday! Thanks again for some great memories!!

I know what it's like watching the New Years fireworks from there and yes I agree that the Contemporary is the best location to watch them from.

We also saw Al workig up there during our most recent trip, so it's nice always seeing one of their Club Level veteran Cast Members and the fact he has always been great to my family and I. Also one day I am sure you can skip a stay at Bay Lake Tower and return to the Atrium Club or maybe even try a split stay.

Here are a few more details to add to the Olympiad gym relocation post from 12/23:

A temporary location is available on the second floor of the Contemporary Tower in room Atlantic A, located near the elevator and escalator. This location remains open 24 hours a day.

I am going to Contemporary Resort in April with dh my dd 6 and ds 9

I was feeling guilty about how expensive it is but........
today I checked and then called reservations because they were offering a code. I got an extra night and an extra day's dining for over $100 cheaper.

One ?, a 1 bedroom at Bay Lake Tower would be even less expensive for us Do you think the extra room would be good for us? Although my family is pretty excited about staying in the resort with the monorail. Is it a far walk from BLT to CR all the restaurants monorail etc.

So excited and thank you to everyone here for all the information.

is the water filtered and heated through the same machine where you can get coffee or something?

yes, it is in the same machine. Don't know if it's filtered.

The aerial walkway isn't long at all, and it goes straight to the 4th floor of the Copntemporary, which where the CS restaurant, shops, Chef Mickeys and Monorail is(well, the monorail is up a level from there, but you access it from the 4th floor)

i am thinking of using the hot water for hot chocolate or tea bags. i don't like the tast of florida water which is why i was wondering if it was filtered. i only tasted florida water once from the tap and it tasted salty. anyhow, i hope the hot water tastes good with tea or hot chocolate

They do have a separate hot cocoa machine.

Hello CR fans! I've been going to WDW since the very early 80s, but have not yet stayed at CR. We've stayed multiple times at Poly, BC, WL, CSR, CBR and once at All Star Sports, and we're planning a quick last-minute (well, quick and last minute in our minds) stop at All Star Movies in March at the end of our Clearwater Beach vacation.

Looking ahead to later 2010 and 2011, we were thinking of a return to the Poly or BC, but then decided to look for something new. Then we saw the new photos of CR, and all of your helpful information here - our entire family is sold!! So hello and thanks to all of you for this great information. We're so excited to try CR!
