Checked in yesterday afternoon and its great to be home! The decorations are fantastic and the CMs are just lovely. We have had some special experiences already celebrating our anniversary including a nice complementary bottle of champaign...but we don't drink...so if anyone that's here right now would like a free bottle of champaign please let me know. =)

How are the crowd-levels? And, how many times have you been in the Haunted Mansion already;)

Have a great vacation and keep us posted:)

I got it in an e-mail, I would say 2-3 weeks after I went into the website to save some vacations and mess around in there. Being DVC and AP I didn't think I'd ever get one.

Conratulations! Isn't it great when we get sprinkled with a bit of pixie dust now and again? I'm sure the CMs have lots to talk about on their lunch breaks, that's for sure! :rotfl2:

Anyone there now experience this?

A glitch aboard a Walt Disney World monorail train forced it to be towed this evening (12/15), a company spokesman said.

The incident took place on the express line about 6 p.m. as a train was traveling between the Transportation Ticket Center and the Contemporary Resort. An on-board computer detected a possible mechanical problem, triggering the train to power down.

The train was towed to the next stop and the passengers were let off.

The problem was resolved by 6:30 p.m.

Not there now, but returned last week. There were all kinds of monorail issues then :sad2:

And since I am a recovering resort changer, I just changed my CR Wing ressie to Tower MK View for 9 nights in June!! DS thinks we are staying in the wing again, so I will let that little nugget be a surprise when we check in!! :yay:

I am so excited to find this thread (and disboards) !! I am just starting to plan our 2010 Disney Trip, which will be our first trip.

I am OBSESSED with the Contemporary Resort!!! Everything about it seems perfect for my family. My ds will be 6 when we travel, and is obsessed with trains, so I wanted to pick a monorail resort. My dd will be 3, and is a sleep addict, so I love how close we'll be to return for her naps each day.

We had planned on early Dec 2010, but I'm thinking of making it earlier because I'm too excited to wait! We are not hot weather people, so thinking Oct or Nov perhaps. I have a pin# good for most of 2010, and am looking at the Garden Wing. But I"m also considering renting DVC points for a stay at BLT instead.

anyway I am completely addicted to this thread, and look forward to getting to know you all!!

Just in case you don't know, you can stay at BLT on what is called a cash reservation (just like when you book any non-DVC resort). You can book it online or by phone. With a cash reservation you won't get access to the Top of the World Lounge, however, you will be able to use any applicable pin codes/discounts (like free dining, 4/3 or -40%) and you will receive daily mousekeeping.

Congratulations on your upcoming trip!

Dawn- the wing is great! No long waits for the elevators, nice and quiet and the price is right! :thumbsup2

As for weather, it can still be mighty hot in October (rainy too) so I vote November. That being said, we just got back from our 3rd December trip and NOTHING beats WDW at Christmastime!!! :santa:

Happy planning!

Hi Dawn!

Welcome to the CR thread! :flower3: I was a die hard Poly lover until I happened over to this thread one day and chatted it up with CR Resort Fan 4 Life (who is there right now and you'll meet up with next week I'm sure!) He and all of the other wonderful people on this thread have answered all of my questions, and posted beautiful pictures, and have totally sold me on switching from the Poly to the CR. I love this thread, and everyone on it! You will learn so much, and it's a lot of fun chatting with all the CR experts :goodvibes Have fun planning for your trip, and I look forward to helping you out if I can...I'll be there in a little over two months! It is not soon enough!

My husband and I are staying at the Contemporary in June for 7 nights over our 25th wedding Anniversary. He wants to do the Segway Tour at Fort Wilderness, when does the resort boat start running? Will he be able to make the 8:30 tour are should I book the 11:30 tour, or plan our own transportation for the 8:30 tour?

Here is the link to the 1st page of this thread:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2140296

it shows the 0645 start time for the boat from the CR to FTW. If it is still in fact 0645, you will have no problem at all making the 0830 tour. Have a great 25th anniversary at the CR:love:. We still have 2 1/2 more years to go for that celebration:yay:.
