Just checked in online. I was half-expecting my KTTW card to fly out of my screen.

No balloons dropped from the ceiling? No marching band through the living room? Not even a Disney Destinations Email? See, this is why I never do online check-in - way too disappointing:guilty:.

I did get an email. :lmao:

Did you have one of those OMG moments that I am almost going to be at WDW? I personally I have not done online check-in since I stay Club Level, but if I ever did use it I am sure that's something I would be telling myself.

HOW COOL would that be, I'd even settle for it popping out of my printer! :-)

I had an OMG moment and got all warm and fuzzy inside just from the reminder that popped up yesterday that I can do online check-in..."save time, skip the line and check in online." :yay: Can't wait to be there!

I am checking into the CR in 16 days for the first time in 10 years! I am a Poly girl but I am excited to stay here! Granted we are only here for one night because we are taking the Disney Magic out to sea the next day but still.... SO excited! We are doing the Halloween Party! WOO HOO! Can't wait! :woohoo:

Maybe one night will it takes that converts you into a Contemporary girl.

I am hoping to fall in love with the CR/BLT. We have a 1 bedroom BLT BLV for October. This will only be our 2nd time staying in a deluxe. We tried and didn't like the BC CL but we love Pop and POFQ. I told DH if we stay deluxe again I want on the monorail :rotfl:

I think you'll love it, Sinderelly. It's not overly themed but we actually prefer it. And our kids flip out over the monorail going through. We've stayed at BLT once and really loved the pool; biggest bonus is the walk to the MK. Have a great time!:thumbsup2

Hi everyone! As of right now, I have booked a trip for my family (myself, DH & DS-3) for October 2012 staying in the Tower at CR with a Bay Lake View. Just for "fun", I priced how much it would be to stay in the Garden Wing. WOW! It would be a good bit less than staying in the Tower! So, my question is "Is it really worth the extra money to stay in the tower?". I know no one but my DH & I can truly answer this for our family. But, I just wanted to get some different opinions on here. This would be our first time ever staying at CR. And I know our son, who'll be 4 then, would really love seeing the monorail coming in & out of the resort. Just curious as to what all the experts here have to say! TIA! :thumbsup2

Hi Amanda - we have stayed in both the tower and garden wing and truly enjoyed both. The Bay Lake view is great to watch the Electrical Water parade. Price-wise, though, it is hard to resist Garden Wing. Rooms are just as nice as the tower. If you can, request a ground floor room - the upper rooms don't have balconies but you can walk right out to a patio on the ground floor. And the walk to the tower isn't bad at all. Enjoy!:thumbsup2

I agree with katepass72 and will add that you should also request a room that faces Bay Lake. These have straight on views of Bay Lake and if you have a patio, you can walk right out to the beach.

We love the Tower BLV, but we once had a GW/GV room that faced Bay Lake and it was wonderful. We prefer the Tower because we are guaranteed a balcony and Bay Lake view, we love being up high and being in the main bldg. If I were you, I would divide the cost difference by the number of days you're staying to see what the per day cost difference would be. I think this gives you a better perspective on whether you think it's worth it.

While I think you'd love the GW, I'd hate for you to feel remorseful after you get there that you didn't book the Tower. If your DS thinks he's staying in the Tower because that's where the monorail is, he might be very disappointed to find out he's not actually staying in the same bldg. That could produce a lot of parent guilt:guilty:

Honestly, not yet, but only because I'm busy stressing over the wedding and a tropical storm headed towards the Bahamas ... :scared1:

During all of my previous stays at the Contemporary I always stayed in the Tower and it was very easy using the elevator to get something at the Contempo Cafe, going to their stores and going to the lobby.

Now their Garden Wing rooms are about a 5 minute walk to the Tower depending on the specifc location of your room and the design, size and etc of those rooms are exactly like the Tower rooms. So I guess the question is what do you feel more comftorable reserving? No matter what you choose I am sure you will have a great time staying at the Contemporary.

A big "Thanks!" to Katepass72, WDWKook & CR Resort Fan 4 Life for the opinions on CR Tower vs. Garden Wing. Y'all made some very good points for both....many of which I hadn't considered. I think I'm going to keep our current reservation in the tower...at least for now. It sounds like the tower has the conveniences that will work best for us. And DS (& DH for that matter) will most likely want to be able to see the monorail coming in & out as much as possible. They both love the monorail. Now, I just need to keep reminding myself NOT to change! :lmao: Thanks again for all the help!
