Greetings from CR! We checked in today after spending several days at the Boardwalk. Bounceback offer is still free dining. Main Christmas decoration is the gIngerbread tree against the Mary Blair mural. We plan on visiting the other monorail resorts to see their decorations as we enjoyed seeing the Epcot resort decorations.

I feel that the CL CMs have been very helpful but find it odd that they never come down to meet us like other resorts do when checking in.

Thanks for posting from there and it's great that so far you are enjoying your stay. It is weird that no Cast Member was there to greet you as you arrived, because on each of our Contenporary Club Level stays one was always there and took us up to the 12th floor.

I hope you have a great time. Also incase you don't know about this or have not done it yet, you should request an odd numbered room because then your beds will face the Magic Kingdom and it can be the 1st thing you see each morning.

Just back from 7 nights at CR - first time there and we were thrilled by the size and cleanliness of our Garden View room and the proximity to Magic Kingdom. Also had the opportunity to see a 1 bedroom in BLT (my parents were staying there) and was very impressed. CR will be our hotel of choice for next trip.

One comment though - DH eventually broke down and paid for the WiFi available in the lobby, having not brought his laptop. Apparently fantasy football warranted the $10. However, it was the slowest internet connection I have seen in the last 15 years! Worse than our old dial-up! Plus there was NO range - lobby or nothing. Just wanted to warn folks - don't waste the $$$. Next time we'll bring the laptop and pay for the access in the room - hopefully that isn't run by a mouse on a wheel... (or just not stay over a Sunday....)

While everything else at WDW is run by a mouse, luckily, the in-room internet is not. We've never had any speed issues with it at all. So don't hesitate using it on your next trip.

I understand that the Top of the World lounge is only available to DVC members, but are non-DVC members staying at BLT allowed in the Fireworks viewing area on the 16th floor?

That is correct, it's only available to DVC members staying at Bay Lake Tower on their points.

I wasn't sure of the answer regarding the "16th floor viewing area" so I did a search and found this post here:

The viewing area is outside the lounge, but is basically the same place. You can sit in the lounge and watch or stand outside.

But, when people talk about the TOWL, they are talking about both so its only open to DVC.

Only one hour until the EWP! Do you have a BL view?

MK view. My kids love opening the drapes every morning and seeing the castle and monorail. And I gotta own it ->I love this this view too.

It's not a big deal to me- the CMs up here worked some magic for us so all is well- if they can try to fulfill my requests then that's all that matters.

The CMs are good, CL snacks are good, mousekeeping is good... And the ability to walk to MK. Priceless, especially when the resort monorail was severely delayed last nite.

I have all my ADRs booked. We will be having breakfast at Chef Mickey's on our final day. I didn't book any other CR restaurants since I will be traveling with my 19 month old DD. I booked mostly character meals for her. The easy access to the MK and the theme park view are the two things that sold me on this resort since my DD will be so young on this trip. I figured we would be in the room every night for the Wishes fireworks.

I'm wondering what I should request without being too specific. I've read where people have been so specific...ie even number room, highest floor, northside, that they ended up with nothing like what they asked for. I'm afraid the CM will look at my request and get disgusted and just put me anywhere if I try to be too demanding in my request! LOL! TIA for your help! April

Assuming the Magic Kingdom View rooms at Bay Lake Tower are set up like at the Contemporary, I would request an odd numbered room so your beds would face the Magic Kingdom and it can be the first thing you see when you wake up.

We are having dinner at the Cali grill on her birthday. I will be ordering a custom cake. She is bringing 2 friends, and they have no idea the surprises that are in store! It will definitely be a birthday she will never forget!
