After almost a year of waiting we are down to days!!!!:cool1::banana::cool1::banana::cool1: I can't believe my first stay at the Contemporary is right around the corner!!!

Actually Seven Seas Lagoon is with the Magic Kingdom View and that also comes with seeing the Contemporary parking lot, although I personally don't let that bother me each time we had that view. Now maybe you are confusing Seven Seas Lagoon with the Bay Lake View which is their other room category for staying in the Tower, if so WDWKOOK gave you great advice.

Thanks to you and WDWKooK for the quick advice.
Yes I was talking about the Seven Seas Lagoon for a view... I'd like a room that looks over at the Poly and The Grand Floridian. I know that is the same side as the MK view... but I thought since it was the opposite end of the tower building from the MK that they might classify it as something different?

I know this might be a funny request... most people probably want to see the MK more than a view of the Poly, 7 Seas Lagoon and the Grand Floridan... but that is what my wife asked for :confused3:lovestruc:wizard: So any further advice is most greatly appreciated.

Actually all their Magic Kingdom View rooms also come with views of the Grand Floridian which is directly across from the Contemporary and the Polynesian, which would be located on the left when you look out on the balcony.

I glanced through the thread quickly, but did not see this. If you have a child in a pack n play, where do you think would be the best spot to put it. I've been looking at the room layout for a spot that's kind off to the side, but I am not seeing any. Help?

The Mary Blair design is a permanent design that will always be there. Now last year for Christmas they created an It's A Small World design that was located in front of the Fantasia store where they sold various pastries, cookies and etc, along with the 2009 Contemporary Resort holiday pins. Although I am not sure if they are having that same design this year.

I understand that.. I guess I forgot the main word when I originally posted - the HOLIDAY themed display that was a nod to Mary Blair that was as you described above. I did not care for that, to be honest and hope there is something new.

Well prior to December 2009 the previous years they had a Pinocchio holiday display, however I am not sure what they will have this year.

We had a little one in a pack n'play in 2008. It fit between the bed and the desk. Made it harder to get in and out of bed on that side of course, but it was out of our way.

The other place we tried it was next to the TV cabinet/faux fireplace. But the air vent hit it directly so we ended up moving it.

:moped:

Are you taking Disney Magical Express? CR is the last stop after Poly, GF, and WL, so prepare yourself (and have something for the kiddos to do) for a long ride.

When we went was the first time on DME, and were definitely not ready for that. If you don't have too many carry-ons, you could get off at Poly, the first stop, and then take the monorail to CR. You'll get there before the bus, and it's never too early to get on the monorail!

Awesome! Thank you! We will se you there, I am sure! haha We have stayed at GF several times and we love it there, I am hoping that we love CR just as much! My little guy, DS5, LOVES the monorail...and says it's his favorite ride at WDW...so he should love this hotel! It's a dream come true for him! LOL

Did you try getting off at Poly and riding the monorail to CR? I'm thinking of doing that on my next trip to shave off about 30 minutes of DME time. Has anybody else tried this? Any reason not to do it?

Just back from 7 nights at CR - first time there and we were thrilled by the size and cleanliness of our Garden View room and the proximity to Magic Kingdom. Also had the opportunity to see a 1 bedroom in BLT (my parents were staying there) and was very impressed. CR will be our hotel of choice for next trip.

One comment though - DH eventually broke down and paid for the WiFi available in the lobby, having not brought his laptop. Apparently fantasy football warranted the $10. :confused3 However, it was the slowest internet connection I have seen in the last 15 years! Worse than our old dial-up! Plus there was NO range - lobby or nothing. Just wanted to warn folks - don't waste the $$$. Next time we'll bring the laptop and pay for the access in the room - hopefully that isn't run by a mouse on a wheel... (or just not stay over a Sunday....)

Thanks for posting your review and that information about the wifi in the lobby. I am not sure if your husband knew this but he could have also used the internet at the Business Center which happens to be located inside the Contemporary convention center and the cost is $10.00 for every 15 minutes your online.

THanks CR fan - we did investigate the business centre as well. We were told it was $6 for 10 minutes of use. DH wanted to use his iPod as he had the relevant websites and passwords saved on it already for his various fantasy pools.

Does anyone have a pic of a king bed room where the bed faces the balcony?
And does CL have these rooms or just standard Tower category?

I believe their Club Level rooms just have the standard rooms on the 12th floor, although I can't remember about the 14th floor.

Greetings from CR! We checked in today after spending several days at the Boardwalk. Bounceback offer is still free dining. Main Christmas decoration is the gIngerbread tree against the Mary Blair mural. We plan on visiting the other monorail resorts to see their decorations as we enjoyed seeing the Epcot resort decorations.

I feel that the CL CMs have been very helpful but find it odd that they never come down to meet us like other resorts do when checking in.

:santa:

I bet it's great to be back!

I think I've figured out why the CL CMs don't come to the lobby to greet the guests anymore - the CL elevators never work right:laughing:

Have a great visit, Mary:santa:

We have stayed CL twice, and they have never come down for us. Last time, we were told we had to check in downstairs even though we clearly stated where we were staying.:sad2:

You crack me up! Actually I think it's because CR is just too busy... Today was the quickest I've checked in, breezed right thru, but the lobby was overrun with BLT check ins.

Several years ago, a CL CM would come down and meet us in the lobby to take us up, but the past few years they've been meeting us after we get off the elevator on the floor.

Each resort has its own uniqueness. ;)

Ahh, uniqueness, you are a true diplomat, Mary!

Only one hour until the EWP! Do you have a BL view?
