Thanks...I hope you have a great time, too... sorry if I missed you going off the grid for awhile, as it were. Can't wait for your report and pictures!

I was told that they are "resurfacing the floor" (hmm... lawsuit?) and it should be re-opened on August 14th.

Yay!! During our last trip to the BLT we noticed the walkway was slippery every time it rained, so I really hope they are indeed "resurfacing the floor".
Thx for the info!:thumbsup2

You're welcome and I hope you enjoy the new-to-you Skybridge surface:)

Excited about our 1st stay at BLT, we have a one bedroom MK view. Is there a room request we should be dialed into or are we going to be happy w/all MK views? Thanks for any help or direction to a previous thread!

I'm sure this has been answered many times, but I must have not paid attention. I am used to the BWV, but I would assume the CR has the same H20 products? I am trying to avoid packing shampoo and conditioner.

Thanks!

I'll be curious what kind of responses you receive as I am also planning on staying in a one bedroom next April (and possibly May too!)...

From my research, rooms ending in XX20 and XX26 are the only 1 BDRM MK Views (if I'm reading the chart correctly). I would say the higher the better, but either rooms seem to have fantastic views.
We stayed in a 2 BDRM this past April and stayed on the 6th floor (RM #7624)....the view was spectacular, but I would anticipate anything lower than that may not be very advantageous. We requested "highest floor possible", but when we got there and they told us our room number we asked if they could check for a higher room..."nope...nothing" (even halfway up would have been nice...sheesh)!! But it was beautiful anyway! Fingers crossed for some "pixie dust" for next April!;)

First stay as a DVC member coming next week on 8/20/10 for a week!!

One bedroom MK view! :cool1:

I CANNOT wait! I've been waiting for BLT for years and hearing all the rumors. Then the rumors came true. Bought BLT last summer when DVC came to Boston and now my trip is so very close.

I was just doing last minute research/reading up on BLT.
Making sure I know all I need to know.
I didn't make any room requests. Wondering if I should have.
Wondering if as a DVC member I'll have free internet access in my room.
Just discovered the bridge is closed. Bummer.
Where do I get BLT specfic souveniers? The Contemporary Tower shops?
What is on the top floor of BLT? Can I just go up and look around or do I need to order a drink?
I'm hoping I don't have self-parking issues as I know I have in the past.

Anyway, I can't wait!!! :)

When I checked in I actually asked if I could get something with an even number (front of the building/MK side) above the 4th floor and the CM actually did some hunting and found us one!

The 16th floor is the Top of the World Lounge. They also have a great outdoor observation area to watch Wishes from! No you don't have to buy a drink but you do have to go down to the first floor to check in and have a CM escort you to the special elevator. If you RUN really fast after Wishes through the Lounge and go out to the other side you can catch the Electrical Water Pagent too!

Haven't found much BLT souveniers just one tshirt at the little food store over at Contemporary - there are no stores at BLT.

Yes you'll have free internet access. When you hook your computer up you'll go through the screen where it looks like you have to pay but it clearly says "This fee does not apply to DVC members"

Do you mean the bridge between Contemporary and BLT? You need your key to go through the bridge. Parking isnt a big deal but good luck!

:goodvibes Thanks for everything!!! :goodvibes

Is internet access free at the Contemporary as well or does the fee apply? I'll need to check us in for airlines on our last day and that would be really helpful!

Yep, they do :) In fact, last week I opened up one of the soaps from my last trip, just for a little shot of the CR while I wait for my next trip ;-) They also sell the products in the BVG shop.
