We are leaving a week from tomorrow!!! Yay!!!!

Should I do online check in? I have requests on my reservation so I don't know if it will help or hurt them. Also, what are the benefits -- is it just quicker check in? We do have groceries and a stroller being delivered so we will have them to pick up too.

Any thoughts?
We have never done online check-in since we stay Club Level so for us we don't think it's worth it. However others who have done it said it's very fast, especially if the regular check-in line is very long. Since you have already made requests I don't think it makes a difference how you decide to check-in, although I don't think it can hurt. So hopefully those who have done this before can give you some more advice.

CRRF4L covered the advantages - online check-in lines can be quicker during peak periods.

The disadvantage is that if your room location requests were not granted, you would then have to wait in another line to speak to a CM about getting your request fulfilled. Also, if your room isn't ready yet, the CM will tell you where it will be located, but not if you've done OC. This is the main reason we never do it. I like to verify my room location and be able to discuss it with a CM if for some reason the location is not ideal.

Have a great vacation! The crowds should be SUPER low:thumbsup2.

I was just looking at the Fall/Winter Room Only promotion and it said from December 9 - December 23 which are the days we are staying at the Boardwalk, says that from those days the Contemporary is 100% sold out. It also says the same thing when I look it up as a regular reservation with no discounts. Now I wonder if there is a convention taking place during that time, because in the past during that time of year I don't remember seeing any convention adds on the electronic boards about meetings happening.

We don't arrive until the 23rd and there seems to be plenty of availability still.

I took a peek at the "December 2010 thread" here:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2359855

and most people posting there seem to be going when you're going. Maybe since there are more deals and the rack rate is lower, it's more popular:confused3.

It could be and I remember last month when we tried to get the Bounceback rate for the Atrium Club, it was sold out for all different combination of days in December that we gave them. Now as luck would have it after we arrived home it was available with the Fall/Winter Room Only deal and the Annual Pass rates, however I didn't know that while we were at WDW since we didn't have access to the internet. Plus we didn't want to give up our Club Level reservation at the Boardwalk after discussing doing that, so at the time we had a chance to switch back to the Contemporary under either of those promotions.

We are going home for the first time to BLT very soon :cool1:

A couple of questions:
1. In the 1 bedroom, does anyone know if there is a can opener?
2. Anyone know approximately how much a gallon of milk is at the market at the CR?
3. Does the market sell fresh fruit like bananas or do we have to go to the Contempo Cafe?

Thanks!!!

1. Yes
3. The market had bananas and apples for sale back in June when we were at BLT. They open at 7:30am.

Just came back from our first ever stay at CR and I have to say that we are now spoiled. This is the first time we had ever stayed at a monorail resort and it was wonderful. Everything from check-in to the service of the CMs to mousekeeping was all outstanding. When we first checked-in they told us our room was on the 7th floor and then proceeded to ask if we would like to be higher...our request was for the 11th floor, which they had an available room, so we of course took it. Let me just say the view was amazing. We had a Bay Lake View and to sit outside every morning and watch the sun rise was awesome, plus we were able to watch the Water Parade and Illuminations from our balcony every night. The only negative thing I could say about CR is that they really could use a little bit more dressers, other than that, everything else was perfect. We definitely would not hesitate to stay here again....in fact, we also took a DVC tour while we were there and bought into BLT so we will be definitely coming back :goodvibes

We were SSR owners and after they finished BLT, had to have it. Being that close to MK, MK resorts, and monorail just can't be beat.

Thanks for sharing! I'm really looking forward to next month!

I know a studio in BLT does not come with a washer and dryer. Also, I know I have read somewhere (probably this thread) that washers and dryers are conveniently located throughout the resort. I am wondering how conveniently located they are and are they coin operated or complimentary?

I have another quick question regarding BLT

if we need to get a cab do we have to go over to the Contemporary..or can you get a cab in front of BLT?

You would need to go over to the main entrance of the Contemporary for getting a taxi and all other transportation needs.

Hello - back again from the Wedding threads to ask the BLT/CR experts a rather strange question. :goodvibes

We originally were going to stay 10 nights at the CR but have now split our stay, 2 nights at BLT and then 9 nights at CR (both MK View). We finally got a great group rate! :cool1:

On the second day of our stay, we are getting married. As a result, we will have several vendors arrive - 1 to steam my dress and 2 separate visits from hair and make up gals. I am wondering if I will have issues letting them into BLT and if I should have them meet me at the front desk of the CR and just bring them over?

My biggest concern is with the second hair and make up visit - they are arriving at 4am (we are having a 6am MK/Epcot photo shoot) and I don't want them to have any problems getting inside the resort. We do plan to communicate via cell phone but I'd like to have a place to meet. This didn't occur to me until the steaming company told me they have had issues getting into BLT in the past. :confused3 Thoughts?

Thanks also for the pics of the mini-fridges, we were worried all our leftover cake wouldn't fit! :)

Since you will be communicating via cell phone I would just have them call when they arrive at the front entrance and send someone down to let them in. Chances are there will be guests coming and going enough for them to "get in" without your help but they may be stopped by CM at front desk. There are also entrances on either side of the complex with a key entry door. Depending on which side of the complex you're on it may work better to meet them at that door. So excited for you ... a WDW wedding :cool1:! My nephew married there on New Years Eve and said he wouldn't change a thing about the wedding. They made everything perfect! :thumbsup2 Good luck! :tink:

Have you thought about letting the Cast Members at the Contemporary know those people are coming and they need to be let into Bay Lake Tower, so you can have them go inside their lobby and someone can walk them over into Bay Lake Tower. Should you plan to do that I would tell them in person about it because if you called from your room you are actually calling a call center and not the Contemporary lobby, so I wouldn't trust that.

However if you feel more comftorable having them call you on your cell phone when they arrive then I would just stick with that plan, because this way you don't need to depend on anyone else meeting them to bring them into Bay Lake Tower and etc.
