Does anyone know if a normal sized laptop will fit in the safe?? I just found out that games 3&4 of the Stanley Cup are on Versus and not available in the hotel rooms. We fly in on game 4 day, but DS will be way too tired to make it to ESPN Club to watch the game :sad2: Someone gave me a link to watch on line for those who do not have Versus...

Thanks!
Here is a picture of what their safe looks like, so hopefully it will be able to help you.

Thanks CR Fan- I just saw that one over on Craig's site too (Craig, you have great pics! :worship:)

As long as that safe goes all the way to the back of the cabinet, then my laptop should fit with no problem! There is NO WAY I am missing my Hawks play for the Cup!!! :yay:

Yes the safe does go all the way back and just incase you didn't see it, here is a link to the TV schedule for the Stanley Cup Finals and you can see what games will be on NBC.

Cinderumbrella:

We've put our MacBook in there so you won't have any problem. When it gets too crowded in the safe, we've also put our MacBook in a locked suitcase.

Just booked CR Tower BLV, (SOG overflow rate;)). DH will miss two trips to WDW this year due to his deployment, so I guess we'll have to make-up for that in '11:rolleyes1

CRRF4L:

It looks like you have a new ticker, too:thumbsup2

Yup this past Sunday we decided to extend our vacation at WDW, so after we check-out of the Contemporary we are then spending the few days at the Boardwalk in a Deluxe Club Level room, with the 40% off room only deal.

Yes--without any trouble. I think DH's is a 16-17" laptop.

awesome thanks!! I think mine is a 16".

CR Fan- thanks for that link, but I am pretty sure the only 2 games on Versus are games 3 & 4. It's been a really sore issue around here since Direct TV had eliminated Versus from their regular package and put it in a sports specialty package. Mercifully we have Comcast and were unaffected (until now ) I just assumed that NBC would have all of the Cup games (guess you know what happens when you assume ;))

Anyway, 10 more days will we are back at the CR!! :yay: Really looking forward to our first stay in the tower and can't wait to see that great MK View!!

Hey everyone. We are staying at the Contemporary from 8/3/10 - 8/13/10. It is our kids' first visit to Disney and I've already made most of my ADRs. I just had a question about eating at the CR. We already have dinner reservations at the California Grill and breakfast reservations at Chef Mickey's. Do I need to make lunch reservations for those times when we come back to the hotel for a break or to use the pool? What would you suggest for lunch at the CR for a family where my son has peanut/tree nut/sesame allergies? We are usually light lunch eaters on vacation with some snacks thrown in as needed between breakfast and dinnner.

Thanks,

good to know about the safe, IIRC the one at WL on our last visit was a wall safe, wallet barely fit :(

Have you thought about making a lunch ADR at The Wave which is located in the lobby or maybe trying the Contempo Cafe, which is their counter service location and it's located on the 4th floor right next to Chef Mickey's.

Thanks for answering.

Yes, I have thought about making ADR lunch reservations at both places, but do I really need to? Our lunch schedule tends to be more fluid than breakfast and dinner, so it is a lot harder to predict when we will be having lunch on a given day. Most times, the kids will be happy with a hot dog or a light snack. It's those other times when we need a break and they want to have a bigger lunch that I am concerned with.

My real question is, can we just walk into either place for lunch with a minimal wait, or do we really need reservations?

Thanks again,

I think the Wave is an excellent suggestion. You might also want to consider Kona Cafe or the Grand Floridian Cafe for lunch too - you can always check the day of to see if an ADR is available or you might even do fine with a walk up. We have never had a problem with walk ups at the Grand Floridian Cafe.

We are alot like you from the sounds of it. For our last trip we stayed at the CR (and going again this summer) . We typically do a big breakfast and dinner. Some are either character or table service. For the afternoons we just did Quick Service. The last time we were are the CR we would eat at the Sandbar (CR pool Quick Service). The Contempo Cafe was in the process of being built.

The Sandbar is your typical burger, salad, etc... For the kids they have the typical chicken fingers etc. We were on the dining plan so we had tons of snacks left over at the end of the week. But now that the Contempo Cafe is there I would suggest that. Maybe even contacting the CR to see if there is someone you could check with on food allergy at the Contempo Cafe. I would even suggest when you make your ADRs to mention about the food allergy. I know my girlfriend went thru this and she LOVED going to Disney for this reason. I know Chef Mickey's they made a separate meal for her son where he had dairy and nut allergy where she couldn't trust anything from the buffet.

For us we never know when the kids want to come back to the pool so I could never book lunch ADRs. We get the up, give them a good breakfast - head to the parks and whenever they are tired, hot and ready for the pool that is our cue to head back to the CR. We loved it so much for our last trip we decided to go again.

You don't need any ADR's at the Contempo Cafe because it's a counter service location, so you just walk in, order your food and pick a table.

As for The Wave after they opened my family and I asked to see their lunch menu and the Cast Member asked if we wanted a table, so at that time we didn't need an ADR for lunch. However I am not sure that would be true for the other times of the year and etc.

Less than 24 hours and I haven't done much of anything toward packing!
