We are going Dec. 11-19th with a theme park view, so in wanting to take full advantage of the view I have a question. On the night there isn't a regular Wishes and its its the MVMCP holidays wishes...what time does that begin? I want to make sure we are in our room to view it!
It's always been at 9:30 PM, so I would assume that will be the same time this year.

Hi everyone, I'm about to call and add a room request to my reservation and I have a question I would like to ask all the experts!

We are staying in the Garden Wing Standard View this year. I know that these rooms will overlook the parking lot. My question is, do you think that if I requested a room on the canal side of the parking lot, the boat horns would be annoying (I have a family afternoon nappers.). Do the boats even sound them off while in the canal?

Thanks! :goodvibes

The only time I have ever heard the boat horns go off is if the smaller boats guests can rent are in their way, so I don't think you will have anything to worry about.

We faced the canal (garden view side of the wing) and I don't recall the boat horns being an issue. It was July and we rarely had the door open because of the heat, though.

Is it a long walk from the tower to the laundry room? Would it be safe to walk there at night alone? I am trying to determine if I could do laundry at night, instead of wasting daylight hours.

thanks,
caroline

We stayed on the canal on the garden view side, and like the other posters reported, we never heard the horns (and we are late sleepers the days after EMH nights) Also, they turn off the EWP as it goes through the canal as well.

It's about a 5 minute walk or less from the Tower to the laundry room on the 2nd floor of the Garden Wing building and it's very safe, so I wouldn't worry about it.

We just got back last week from the BWI and are looking to plan our next trip. We were originally going to stay at the BWI again, but we would like to be on the monorail this time. We are a family of five (we have DD19, DD17, and DD9 at the time of trip). We are looking to go in the very beginning of January when DD19 is on college break and when DD17 has some time off from Christmas break.
We are looking to stay in (most likely) a 2 bedroom MK view at BLT. The thing that we loved staying at the BWI was the night activities and things to do. Is there anything special going on at night around BLT and CR that I should know?
Thank you so much...we miss WDW already and can't wait to go back. BLT is DD19's dream resort since it is so close to MK!

Hello there Contemporary experts!

I had a couple of questions that I thought you might be able to help with. Hope that you can help.

1) How frequent are the blue boat launches to Fort Wilderness? We've got tickets for the 7.15pm show of the Hoop Dee Doo. What time do you think we should assemble at the Contemporary Marina? There will be about 25 of us!

2) This is a real tough one. Does anyone have a playlist of the background music that they play at the California Grill?

Hope you can help!

1) The boat operates from 6:45 AM - 11:30 PM, however it also stops at the Wilderness Lodge and I forget which resort it stops at after leaving the Contemporary.

2) As for your other question are you asking about the music played during Wishes or is it a different type of music?

Well there are no activties that happen at Bay Lake Tower, however if anything is going on then it will take place at the Contemporary. Now they don't have anything like the street acts you would see at the Boardwalk, however on some nights they play Disney movies on the Contemporary beach and you will get a schedule of them when you check-in.

Belated thanks Cinderumbrella (and mdrob214)! I have been off the boards for a couple of days and just saw your replies (DS17 just graduated high school!).

I requested near the canal after hearing from CR Resort Fan, so it was great getting your feedback! :goodvibes

In all my years as a child and teen and now adult I never had a problem with the cleanliness of the rooms. We certainly did not let it ruin or trip or even our day we just carried on and I must say the parks were very clean and service was great everywhere else.
I know i am responding to this a little down range but make sure you send an email to Disney complaining. Their desire to cut costs is starting to show itself in general disrepair and dirtiness of the world as a whole. If nobody complains then they will think they are doing a good job cutting costs. It has been posted that they make a decision and then wait to see if they get complaints. They do not take into account if anybody will be unhappy before making the decision. You must complain, everybody who has an issue must complain in writing. That is the only way they know what is going on.

Thanks, I did send an email after we returned, just did not want to make too much of it while we were on vacation. Just odd how the parks seemed so well maintained but yet the resort just seemed well frankly like someone had reduced the staff and caused low morale.

We love the CR but this was a less than magical visit, we are staying at GF in Oct. it is my dd's birthday and her choice anxious to see how it compares to our previous visits. This mainly bothers me because the Poly also used to be one of our faves until we had a horrible cleanliness/service issue that was not resolved promptly or completely, at least at CR they did handle it well and promptly. Disney needs to address this, I hate to say it but if our next trip does not improve we will have to consider staying offsite. There are too many luxury resorts in Orlando to just ignore, we will not tolerate poor service and unclean rooms.

I will update when I get a response.

BLT guests receive a separate sheet with activities specific to that resort. There are actually many activities throughout the day and evening. Most take place in Community Hall or at Bay Cove Pool. As CRFan said, there are movies at night for guests of both CR and BLT. The screen is located between the two towers...at least it was when we were here in Sept and Dec and by the verbiage in the sheet, I think it's still that way.

Nightime activities specific to BLT this month are Wii Time from 7-9 on S, M, T and F. Critter Coloring 7-9 on W. Plaster Fun 7-9 on Th. Character masks 7-9 on Sat. There are also some activities in the 5-7 pm range at BLT.

For both CR and BLT, there is a campfire from 5:30-6:15 on the CR beach on S, W, F and Saturday. Hope that helps a bit.

We're at BLT right now and loving it!:cool1:

Does anyone know if a normal sized laptop will fit in the safe?? I just found out that games 3&4 of the Stanley Cup are on Versus and not available in the hotel rooms. We fly in on game 4 day, but DS will be way too tired to make it to ESPN Club to watch the game :sad2: Someone gave me a link to watch on line for those who do not have Versus...

Thanks!
