Thanks for posting that and the link. This is part of an article I posted here:
If a resort line train misses the station in the Contemporary and has to back up, it first has to wait for an express line monorail to come through the station and clear the track for the resort line train to reverse into the station.
JanetMom stayed on the TC level very recently; she was upgraded from the AC. No, the TC hasn't been renovated lately. The TC is the most expensive floor, so if you wanted to save some $ and have a larger lounge, you could book AC if it becomes available. CRRF4L is a great resource for AC level advice.A question for all the Contemporary experts here!
I am planning to surprise the family by adding on two days at the Contemporary at the end of our Oct trip in 2010. I called yesterday and was able to apply a bounceback discount (I had booked during our last stay at WDW) for a standard Tower Club room (CY code).
I was originally looking to book at the Atrium club level, rather than the Tower club since I like the look of the renovated rooms at the Atrium Club level (and main resort). However only the Tower Club was available.
Any thoughts? Have the 14th floor rooms been renovated lately? Any plusses to keeping the current Tower Club reservation? Or should I just try to change to the Atrium club?
Advice is greatly appreciated! This will be our first Contemporary - Club level stay. Looking forward to the family's surprise!![]()
If you look on the 1st page of the thread in the Club Level section I wrote a whole thing on the differences between the 12th and 14th floors, plus there are links to the 14th floor lounge and room pictures.A question for all the Contemporary experts here!

We are now back at home, after spending the last week at the CR.
You're welcome. Thanks! I did check that out and two different fan websites for the Contemporary. I guess I'm just undecided! I do have a little time before I need to decide though... so I guess I'll just have to sleep on it for a bit!
Thanks again.![]()
We only stay BLV in the Tower. You'll love it - it's our favorite view at WDW. The request I always make (and have always received) is: "High floor, away from Chef Mickey's, odd-numbered room." The highest non-CL floor you could get is the 11th. The odd numbered rooms' beds face toward the GW, WL, FTW, Epcot, DTD and therefore, away from BLT.Hello CR experts! I'll be staying at the CR for the first time in MayAnyway, I was just reading about online check-in, which I've decided to give a try, and they mentioned the option to make room requests. I've booked a Tower Bay Lake view room and I hadn't thought at all about requesting anything else (I think I was too excited about just getting to stay in the tower at all!). So my question is, can you really even make room requests in the tower? It seems like the option to make room requests makes more sense at other resorts that have multiple buildings, pools, transportation areas, etc. But everything is so centralized at the CR. Is there really anything to request if you're already booked in a tower room?
Has anyone made a room request in the the tower before, and if so, what was it for and was it honored? Thanks!
How long did it take to get to CR using magical express?

You'll want to definitely have your request (if any) placed in your reservation prior to online check-in. I think I've read that you can't make specific room location requests on the online check-in form, however, I've personally never used online check-in.
Have a great vacation in May (I think you'll be hooked on the CR) and don't forget to post a CR-TR when you get back

There are two chairs and a small table. Yes, the castle changes colors all night.are there chairs on the balcony? and are the castle lights on all night?
There have been a few times where my family and I had a room close to Chef Mickey's however the noise didn't bother us, so it each person will have a different opinion about that. Plus if you happen to get a room close to it and are at the parks for most of the time, then you wouldn't hear it a lot. Thanks! It would be fun to have a higher up room, and I bet the noise from Chef Mickey's can be loud. Your tip about the odd-numbered room is great! I think I might be putting in the exact same request you doThanks again and I'll be sure to post my TR!
Don't forget the charis will get wet after it rains and if that happens after the housekeepers clean the room it's best to wipe them off yourself, so people are able to sit on them. There are two chairs and a small table. Yes, the castle changes colors all night.
