The Adventurosity Club

Hi MadBrad!! :wave2:
I (and DW) have been over on the DisUnplugged boards due to the cruise.
Ann was in chat last week but did not talk to her much.
If you have ever been in chat on the podcast night you will understand why, it moves VERY fast!

PS...How's Minnie?

Minnie is doing great!

Speaking of Minnie, back around Thanksgiving I mentioned something about my family getting a new baby. Let me introduce everyone to our little Minnie...

She is a small poodle (she was the runt). DW wanted to name her Sophie but I said it had to be Minnie! She was supposed to have been my little girl since DW has her mini-schnauzer. She has turned out to be DW's baby though. Let me just say that DW has her spoiled rotten too!

For those of you who don't visit Facebook, I wanted to share the pics of my home office that I was finally able to finish. Most of the pics I have hanging were painted by my late Grandmother. Of course I had to add a little Disney touch to my room as well!

Let's see who can be the first to spot the Hidden Mickey!

These 2 paintings were done by my Grandmother.

The painting on the right was done by my Grandmother. The other one was a Christmas present. Hey, look, I was on the DIS when I took this pic.

Oh, Minnie is simply adorable!! She definitely looks more like a Minnie than a Sophie!

Nice office! It looks so homey! I love the Disney totem pole -- assume that's from Wilderness Lodge?

Carrie -- just wanted to add an extra plug for Maverick! Sooo adorable! Love the photo of Maverick flying through the air.:thumbsup2

Thanks, Marshay!! In case I left some of you off the email or you didn't see my link on Facebook, this is what she's talking about:

I've entered one of our cats in a contest for Atlanta Magazine. He's been in a couple of other contests, but hasn't won one yet (why? - I don't know! :rotfl:) I'm not sure if public votes actually don't have anything to do with the winners, but I hope that if he gets enough votes it will make him stand out a little more.

The pic of him flying through the air is funny - he was actually only about 4 months old when we shot that. I think he weighed somewhere between 5-6 pounds. He would walk down my arm and then leap from my forearm to the back of the chair. We tried to do that shot for about 45 minutes, and luckily we were able to crop my arm out of the picture so it looks like he is flying - The Flying Maverickian!!

And I have to add that I just love the baby's new room! Since we got Maverick, we've started to like decorating with animal prints. When we start having children, I might have to steal your decorating idea for a nursery!!

Marshay - I love love love the jungle room! It looks like you had lots of fun putting it together.

Brad - Thanks for sharing the adorable photos of Minnie. I can see why it's easy to spoil her! The home office is lovely and cozy - very welcoming!

Carrie - What fun photos of your kitty!

Have you guys seen the YouTube video of the fat cat and his yogurt box? Look here - it's hilarious.

Amy - I'm so disappointed for you and for us! I am so looking forward to meeting up with you all some day.

I need some name ideas from you guys again!! My neighborhood hosts a weekly event called "Meet and Greet." They are trying to come up with a different, catchier name for it and I'm stumped. The only thing I can come up with is "Friday Fest". I got a lot of good responses from my "Chili con Kiger" at the chili cookoff (even though I didn't win!), so I thought I would turn to my Dis-Friends for some other great ideas!!

Some info that might help you out:
The neighborhood is called Reunion
They serve things like burgers, various sandwiches and a different weekly special
Meet and Greet usually lasts for about 3 hours, and people either eat dinner there or just have a drink and mingle.
It's family-friendly

Thanks for your suggestions!!

Food-n-Fun

Had my last ultrasound today ... baby is 7 pounds, 9 ounces and 80th percentile. So if she comes early, she is still a very healthy weight!

I am finishing up the nursery and will take pics tomorrow...our glider arrived today and that was the last piece. I think we are ready!

Ok, here is the nursery room -- finally complete!

You can see part of our "sun" ceiling fan; the clouds on the wall and on the ceiling above the crib; and the vines with flowers in it.

JPEG006-2.jpg

DD loves the palm tree musical mobile. It has a remote control and everytime she goes in, she turns it on.

Here are more of the vines. We only did 1/2 the room in vines...didn't want to overdo it (too much!)

Here you can see the cute elephant hamper and lion trash can. There's a jungle animal growth chart on the wall next to the window. The shades are a greenish-blue.

There are more clouds on the ceiling so baby can eventually look at them while we change her diaper.

JPEG008-2.jpg

The little lion hanging off the dresser is the one that DD bought with her own money for baby. It plays Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

And here's the other view -- looking into the closet. The door goes to the bathroom -- it's a jack and jill bathroom (or in our family I guess it's a jill and jill bathroom since I have 2 girls) that goes to my DD3's room.

Note the cute little Frog Humidifier

JPEG009-1.jpg

We'll probably put a mirror or a wall hanging of jungle animals (if I find one I like) on the blank wall above the frog and under the cloud, but I'm done for now.

Just had to post a pic of my very proud DD who is [going to be] a BIG sister!

This was part of a very kind gift that 3Guys and Katscradle sent to us.

I told my DD that in Canada where my Disney friends are from, that it is tradition to give a rag doll as a BIG sister gift. I said that she will soon be a Big Sister...and she replied, "Mommy, I'm already a Big Sister to baby inside you, so can I have the dolly now?"

She is completely thrilled with Dolly ... we are working on a name but right now DD calls her Dolly.

3guys and Katscradle -- you gave my Daughter an incredible gift (I'll write personally to you later but just wanted to share this pic with you). She loves it!
