Thanks to my Dis friends for the nice framed art of Fort Wilderness.

I managed to find same frame and added another print we had purchased recently.



Smaller print we have had several years in similar frame.


Put em together and redecorated the main wall in the living area of the RV.

Tiggerdad (and probably family in tow with some new pretty pictures on the wall of the TiggerdadTrailer) are likely headed to the land of sunshine, seafood, and southern hospitality on the Redneck Riviera.

"Jupiter" is a FL small town (well not so small now) that me and DW lived in when we were first married five decades ago.

I figured the Bert Reynolds was a reference to that town, it has a bridge named for him after all, and i belive he drove that car over it when it was dedicated. Us northern folk know nothing of the gulf shores.

There wuz this thing on the DIS Camping Community Board on the Way-Back-Machine called a DISMeet between two guys that started in Gulf Shores at Gulf State Park ....

We here, but arrival after dark so site pics tomorrow.

We on site 17, so I'll have unobstructed sunrise in the mornings from my picnic table.


We, even though so late getting here, are sticking to our arrival day tradition of eating at Gulf Island Grill. I'll post some dinner pics later as the wait is currently an hour.

DW and I had boiled shrimp dinner.


Youngest DD had kids menu fried shrimp and fries.


Oldest DD had 2 cluster crab legs.


Back at camper, I tried my hand at some night shots with phone.

Looking east toward Orange Beach.

The new wall decorations stayed up nicely on trip down.


Off to bed. I'll see if cloud cover goes away in the morning.

Up this morning to see how things were.


Nice pink tinge on the clouds to get things started.



No advertising right?


And that was that. Literally the clouds rolled in and shut it down. We'll see about tomorrow.

Got action on site however. I have a pair of birds hanging out. Married, based on how they are going back and forth at on another.


The one on left must be the female based on how much yelling she is doing. Look at his face. Says it all. New condo going up in Orange Beach. Adding to their traffic problems nicely.


These birds are also digging in the dirt.


Apparently he isn't doing it right...

Oh man! I hate that I missed you. Typically we are here early but I signed oldest DD up for a 3 day defensive driving course as she gets her drivers license next month and I want her to have all the experience she can get.

We booked next year, same week.

For next year I booked site 483. It's on canal road, so closer to entrance and an easier bike trip to beach. I walked over this morning and as luck would have it, it was open.




I'm booking a year exactly out, and that was the only site in this general area on the water that was open. It looked like 3/4 of park was already booked. Shows the crazy increase in campers.

I'm from Southern Illinois. Most of the folks on here call me "Northern". I'll take it, but I love Gulf Shores. I'll be there in 3 weeks!
