Sounds nice... For me the sound of rural living is a train. We live at the end of the street and have some pasture/wooded area just past us. Somewhere past that are some train tracks - the way the sounds echo around in the little hills and valleys, and off the trees sometimes it sounds like it's coming through the side of the house, and other times it sounds miles and miles awayI told you I have never lived more than 12 miles from where I started,....well, the town I live in now is population about 300, the one I grew up in was 500. So you living in the 'Stans, or those DISers who live in the cities - both are pretty foreign concepts for me.

I tried to reply to both your's AND norybell's a couple nights ago, but was foiled by crappy rural internet. Which will be the story of my life. I guess I'll have to combine grocery shopping trips with posting forays.
Anywhooooo.... YeS!! we have the train too. The one that buzzes and whistles down alongside I-5. I LOVE how it sounds off in the distance.
I also forgot one more sound that will take some getting used to: the sound of hunting rifles. Lots of that here too. Here ducky, ducky, ducky.
That sounds truly lovely. I'm sick of city life!
But just think of how close you are to oodles of entertainment options, grocery shopping, and libraries!!!! I will definitely miss all of that!
Forgot your toothbrush?! Bummer. I not only remembered my toothbrush, but I packed an extra one. It was by accident though, I had bought a travel toothbrush set, with floss, mini toothpaste, mouthwash and brush the whole nine yards, I had bought it months before my trip and packed it...months before my trip, then the day of my departure I completely forgot about my nifty new toothbrush set and packed my everyday toothbrush. But no worries, my forgetfulness came in handy as Lo had forgotten her toothbrush and I saved her fifty some odd dollars by giving her my old one....Just kidding!!! LOL! I gave her the new one.
I love my kooky pens, my Mom bought me, Mickey, Donald and Goofy, I use them at work and color coordinate them with my outfit.
I have learned from you to carry my journal with me in the parks and write when needed. I usually just journal at the end of the night but I know great stuff gets left out, even now I look back at my TR and realize I have left out important stuff from day 1. So on my next trip the journal becomes part of me.
And last but not least, I am going to try the Shrimp Lo mein. It looks tasty.
HAHA!! That'd been funny!

You color coodinate them with your clothes?!!

I think as my trip went on, I got lazier and lazier with my journaling- only doing it at night- so the longer this TR lasts, the more fictional it will get.

And last but not least, If you like a heaping plate of noodles- that's the dish for you!
