Well, I should just get it out of the way and post it here too...

This was my prize from winning one of Liesa's contests way back in 2009....

Love the update Liesa - poor poor Mike! I never travel without Immodium either!

Nooo, that's to good and funny a picture to make disappear. :rotfl:

Have a great time camping, Liesa! We're "camping" in a friends' driveway in Eugene for the Duck game! They are letting us leave the trailer there for the Winter so we can sleep there for games, and then we'll take it to the coast for a weekend in the Spring before bringing it home! Looking forward to Monday!

GO DUCKS!!!!

What is that? :confused3

Tagomania is a gathering of many members of another Disney Board. When Mousefest was still happening we all got together than and had lots of meets - it is soo much fun! MouseFanTravel usually has some meets at the same time as Tagomania now...and one or two of the Podcasts too - don't recall which ones. This yr Tagomania was over this weekend. :) Have fun whatever you're doing at WDW!!!

Christine!! I'm so glad your up about enough to get on the boards! How are you feeling?
Thanks so much, Millie! I am feeling better each day...stopped the percocet on Thursday (surgery was Tuesday) - although there have been a couple of times when I considered taking one again, it makes me sick so I avoid it as best possible. Have prescription strength ibuprofen of 800mg and that's been working great. :thumbsup2 Back to the Dr on Tuesday for recommendations of what to do next - probably a little radiation.
Thanks again!! :goodvibes

Just wanted to thank everyone who posted and/or sent me well wishes and prayer. It meant so much to me and definitely helped during some scary moments - like being wheeled into the OR holding area!

Thanks so much!!!! :grouphug:

Whew, all caught up. Thanks for helping me to have a great evening. I was a little down because I am missing my family and your report cheered me up and helped me not be so homesick.

Anyone know what's up with Marv??????
Relax Rosie, I was attending a Wooden Spoons and Their Various Uses convention all weekend!:rolleyes1

Actually, like Liesa, I was camping with boy scouts all weekend (well, Liesa wasn't with scouts, but you know what I mean), so very much out of touch. And those wooden spoons were actually boat paddles, since we did a five mile canoe trip as part of the weekends activities! I am sOAR, sOAR, sOAR! Of course, when you spend a weekend with scouts you can think of at least ONE good use for a wooden spoon before the weekend is over.

Glad to see Liesa was also out of touch all weekend. At least I didn't miss any contests while I was gone. Of course, that IS one way for Rosie to beat me to the answer......... ;)

Funny Marv!

Hey you West Coasters and Camille = Jim is getting used to the idea that I want to meet up with all you "strangers"! :yay: If it can happen on a weekend when we are already in Eugene for a Duck game, that would be extra good! I see a light at the end of the DIS tunnel!!!:cool1:

I just want to thank everyone again for all of your prayers and good thoughts for my step-father. He's doing so much better. The cardiologist is not even sure why his lungs filled up with fluid, but he is not calling it congestive heart failure which is great. So now I can breathe and be back here!!

Hey Liesa,
I don't want to bring your thread down so a quick recap. I had my gastric bypass the beginning of July. It was a difficult recovery, but I'm doing okay and I've lost 50 pounds so far. My mom's cancer returned right after I had my surgery and got very bad very quickly. She passed away last Saturday after a very difficult last 3 weeks. I really haven't had the mental energy for anything but I'm trying to make the effort to rejoin the world this week.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Oh my goodness - what a precious picture of Lauren and Buster!! No way to break up that friendship!! :lovestruc

I'm off to work now and then to the hospital to visit MY Dad--quadruple bypass surgery this week!! And Tracy I know how you feel--Dad goes for regular stress tests and recently had an exam. They said they would schedule him for a cath to check things out and SIX WEEKS LATER they discovered he was 100%, 80%, and 80% blocked in 3 of 4 arteries!! :scared1: He was admitted immediately & wasn't allowed to shower as they were concerned about the hot and cold constricting of his blood vessels and arteries ... yet of course he was allowed to work 13 hour days standing on his feet until they figured this all out ... :confused3. Just glad for the gift of his having come through the surgery with flying colors and is already up walking and moving out of ICU today to a regular room. :littleangel:

Isn't it scary?! It took them six weeks to figure out he had blockages? :scared1: I'm just so glad your Dad got the surgery in time and is doing well!

:worship: What an amazing costume!!!

Without getting all out of sorts about this (I did enough of that earlier with Liesa).

I wanted to ask everyone to keep in mind everyone's kids who are away at college this year, after the scare here at UT and the fact my son's girlfriend is there......keeping it together.....it hit just a little to close to home for me today.

Camille - I didn't hear about this - how scary! It's so hard not to worry about your children as they move out into the world. I tried calling my son earlier today, and he didn't get back to me. I heard there was a bad accident in town and of course I couldn't get thoughts out of my head that perhaps he had gotten into a car accident. I guess that's part of our job as parents - we worry!!

Hey folks!! I'm here for as often as college life lets me be....more often than not I do hope! I'm not going back and reading all 30 something pages though!

Great to see you back here!! :cool1:

Hi Liesa,

I hope you had a great weekend camping!! The weather was lovely here this weekend - yesterday I took a drive to Lake Placid - so beautiful with the leaves changing color!

I got a chance to catch up on your report - thanks to your absence! ;)

A nail biter indeed!!! I was so nervous just reading about the tense 30 minutes waiting for the agent and the stamp!! I can only imagine what you were feeling! What a blessing that he arrived in the nick of time! I would have been jumping up and down too!

And poor Mike! The visual of him outside in the middle of the night getting sick! What a nightmare!! And your daughter stepping in his "sickness"! :rotfl: And you being the lucky one to get to clean it up!

Love the pics of the horse weiners!! A little mustard and ketchup will make most anything taste great! :lmao:

What great updates!! Can't wait for more!!! :yay:

Tracy, I'm so happy to hear your step-father is doing better, and that the diagnosis isn't as bad. Praise God!
