Grand Arrival!

Before I go on…I need to introduce the rest of Baker's family!

Baker's Mom

Baker's Sister - Sarah

I just love that picture of the two of them!! :)

I guess it also gives you guys a sneak peak at some of the shirts we made!!

And Baker's Nurse, Jennifer

bakerarrival4-1.jpg

It was an honor having Jennifer join us and really was helpful to all of us, particularly me…because I really anticipated needing to help them a lot during their stay…but when Jennifer was able to come, it really freed me up to enjoy the portions of the trip where I was them and also to be able to break away to hang out with Liesa when it was convenient, too! It was the best of all worlds for me! And Jennifer got a free trip to Disney for helping…it was a win, win, win!

They drove all the way to the POP and I met them there.

Baker loved it all as soon as he got there - he loved the display cases in the POP lobby and the cartoons on the TV! It was like he was home.

You can sorta see some of Baker's autistic characteristics in these pictures...he really looks at things closely and was really interested in all of the things in the cases!

I helped them get their luggage to their room and got them settled…I encouraged an early bed time…but I am pretty sure they were up pretty late with all of the excitement!!

How great to have Baker able to explore to his hearts content. I hope the whole family had a blast and even nurse Jennifer was there to lend a hand and enjoy herself.

Great pictures Mary!

You can see how interested Baker was with the shadowboxes at POP. There are so many neat items in there.

How great that they were able to have their nurse come with them too. :goodvibes

Lots to comment on, but am headed to bed now. Baker was lucky enough to do something I didn't.... look carefully at all those really great shadow boxes. So much really fun stuff to see there! :thumbsup2

Mary, great update! Lovely pictures of Baker's family, they look so happy! :goodvibes And Baker investing these boxes is very cute!

I have never seen Roger Rabbit.

I saw it only once about 30 years ago. Or whenever it came out. I remember it being very zany, but can't tell you squat about the storyline or plot. I do remember one quite voluptuous character who loved the rabbit. :confused3

Who framed Roger Rabbit

For anyone not familiar with Roger Rabbit and the Disney connection.

Oh, it is a very funny film! I saw it a few years ago and was highly amused! They even planned a whole Roger Rabbit Land and DHS originally (wich at that time was of course still MGM Studios) to support the franchise. There were supposed to be more films about it... I think I heard something about it once on the WDWRadio Podcast which was fascinating. DL Toontown still has a Roger Rabbit ride.

I think it was Show #6 of the WDWRadio Podcast with Lou Mongello and Jeff Pepper as his guest.

The shirts look great Maroo.

I'm glad Baker felt like home at Pop and enjoyed perusing all of the items in the shadowboxes.

What "era" was Pass the Pigs from? We only got it a few years ago...I guess we're behind the times.

What "era" was Pass the Pigs from? We only got it a few years ago...I guess we're behind the times.

Didn't you know that it is sooo last century??? :snooty:

:lmao: I have no idea what Pass the Pigs might be - I guess a board game?

Which reminds me: any more experiences with playing Catan?

That whackadoodle woman just keeps showing up! Either that or there's more than one running around with large warty noses.
Hey, don't be talking about Rosie like that!!!

Oh, you didn't mean the woman in the picture with the umbrella....did you??? :rolleyes1
I hope Mary gets her G up soon, I want to get H up soon.
I hope this had nothing to do with the Liesa greeting you gave her earlier......
I'd still like to see them add the guns and targets to It's A Small World... :rolleyes1
I'm guessing the further you go on the ride, the more points the speakers are worth! By the time you get to that final room, and you are stuck there for ten minutes behind 8 other boats, that would be all you were aiming at!!! :rotfl:
That's actually a pretty cool list - my boys, had they ever bothered to make one, would have consisted of

1 - Destroy things

2 - Make lots of noise while destroying things

3 - Get in trouble for destroying something they shouldn't have.......
Ali, is that YOU????
Mostly everyone just jokes about my shoe going in the outhouse, my toilet spewing vile black material, my "hairy" feet, or how short I am. That pretty much sums it up.
And the Liesa greeting.....don't forget the Liesa greeting!!!
Somebody had suggested I name my first feature film The Life and Times of Albrecht Durer, and as I passed this little squatting still-life, I thought, YES! I just may have to do that! And yet, playing a transgender role seemed a bit difficult for me so early in my career. (So for now, I’ll leave that up to Tate.)

LiesaDay1175.jpg
Transgender role, huh? So you're saying that's a........JACK rabbit??? :rolleyes1
I, of course, booked a ticket immediately, and was whisked away for a 3-hour tour, a 3-hour tour. This was a really high-end sailing company where there was some very fine eating!
And I thought all they had on that cruise was coconut......
At last, after some slightly stormy weather that was almost disastrous, we made our way back to shore as I had a few minor star-ish details to attend to. I found a one- stop shop for both my teeth whitening AND a quick hairdo. How convienient!
And a foot wax???? Please say you got the foot wax!!!
Suddenly, I spied this billboard, that reminded me it was time to call for my limo to take me to some last minute places I needed to visit.
I KNEW there had to be a limo!!! :)
The Upper Mickey Mucks needed me to carefully review the layout of the garden of busts,
Hey, I think you've solved the age old Monopoly question of "What would you find in Marvin's Gardens?? ;)
It’s a giant blue hat with an enormous white glove picking its nose! Huh!
:rotfl: EEEWWW.... :rotfl:

I bet there were some other shady talent agents texting you that day, trying to entice you away from your rounds and lure you into their world......
Wait a second. Haven't we had enough of your bust for one TR? :rotfl2:
:lmao:

i love looking at shadow boxes as well, some of the stuff people put in there are really entertaining.
:thumbsup2 and some good history on them.

Sheesh, a girl goes to WDW for a measly three days, and when she returns to reality she's fifteen or so pages behind on this TR!

Sounds like you were both having excellent days so far!

In other words it is a CARP Shoot !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:lmao: Exactly!

So true. And even then you (men in general) could very well be off by a space on the rainbow. I dunno, Mike is constantly mixing up green for blue. :confused3

Eh, close enough.

:lmao: (Yes, I have the sense of humor a 13 year old does.... still.)

I knew there was a reason why we get along. Don't ever grow up! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I try my best. Hey! Do you think Albrecht picked his nose?? On that tour I took, his wife never mentioned it. ;)

If he did, it was probably done in a very interesting manner.

Are we still talking nose picking here??

I was referring to the well by the Indiana Jones show. I think my kids thought something would jump out of the well if they pulled the rope.

We tend to flock together for our collective love to idiotic jokes. I think we all genuinely like each other too, which is a bonus for sure!.

:grouphug: :thumbsup2

Glad to see Baker enjoying the surroundings at the POP!

Yes, I definitely think I need to rent this. I looked up the Wiki link and the plot is WAY more complicated than I remember. Of course, I was very young and most plots went over my head. I guess I was more interested in the sight gags and animation. :confused3

Thanks for the link, Magdalene! Sounds interesting- I had no idea a whole land was planned for that park!

Just stopping in to say "hey"!

HEY back at ya!!!

The shirts look great Maroo.

I'm glad Baker felt like home at Pop and enjoyed perusing all of the items in the shadowboxes.

What "era" was Pass the Pigs from? We only got it a few years ago...I guess we're behind the times.

I just saw pass the pigs at Fred Meyers (grocery/superstore) and almost got it for Zach for his stocking. I passed it up, and got him a new Uno deck instead. I remember playing it when I was about 10- so that was 33 years ago.

Didn't you know that it is sooo last century??? :snooty:

:lmao: I have no idea what Pass the Pigs might be - I guess a board game?

Which reminds me: any more experiences with playing Catan?

Hear, hear!!!! How IS Catan going?? I'm guessing after you play the regular board a few times, you'll want to add an expansion pack of Seafarers or Knights and Cities.

Pass the pigs is a dice game, with little piggy dice.

Hey, don't be talking about Rosie like that!!!

Oh, you didn't mean the woman in the picture with the umbrella....did you??? :rolleyes1

I would never disparage poor Rosie!! She creates her own material (poles and pigs)

I hope this had nothing to do with the Liesa greeting you gave her earlier......

Hey yeah, maroo, where's that "H"??

Transgender role, huh? So you're saying that's a........JACK rabbit??? :rolleyes1

That, or little bunny foo-foo.

And I thought all they had on that cruise was coconut......

By the time I sailed with them, they had figured things out- once they used that coconut to make a radio, that is. After that they could call for Caviar anytime.

And a foot wax???? Please say you got the foot wax!!!

Have you already forgotten my stunning (and "cute") feet?

I KNEW there had to be a limo!!! :)

Hess's company called up Jeeves and he was there amazingly quick like. But he didn't go to where you think he did. ;)

Hey, I think you've solved the age old Monopoly question of "What would you find in Marvin's Gardens?? ;)

:lmao: Whenever I play, it's everyone ELSE'S hotels. I hate that game.

:rotfl: EEEWWW.... :rotfl:

Who doesn't love a good nose picking joke??

I bet there were some other shady talent agents texting you that day, trying to entice you away from your rounds and lure you into their world......
:lmao:

Well, I admit, a certain guy named Marv made a couple attempts. But all was pleasantries about having a nice trip.

That, or little bunny foo-foo.
Dang, I totally missed those little pellets on the ground....... :rotfl:
By the time I sailed with them, they had figured things out- once they used that coconut to make a radio, that is. After that they could call for Caviar anytime.
Good to know. I might have to give them a try sometime!
Have you already forgotten my stunning (and "cute") feet?
I figured they HAD to be due for some maintenance by now....... :rolleyes1
Well, I admit, a certain guy named Marv made a couple attempts. But all was pleasantries about having a nice trip.
That Marv is a swell guy! I bet you could trust him with your budding career!!! :thumbsup2

i love looking at shadow boxes as well, some of the stuff people put in there are really entertaining.
:thumbsup2 and some good history on them.

Funny how we tend to think the stuff from our childhood's ages about 10-18 is the most entertaining. Perhaps because they bring back that "innocent" era in which life was mostly all about having fun.

Sheesh, a girl goes to WDW for a measly three days, and when she returns to reality she's fifteen or so pages behind on this TR!

Sounds like you were both having excellent days so far!

Welcome BACK!!!! I know you had a great time- well, I hope you did!! And you came back just in time for a boatload of snow! PLEASE PM me if you start a TR, ok??!!

I knew there was a reason why we get along. Don't ever grow up! :thumbsup2

Pinky swear.

If he did, it was probably done in a very interesting manner.

Did you know he was a philosopher and astronomer as well? Maybe he should have named a constellation? Nosus Pickerus.

I was referring to the well by the Indiana Jones show. I think my kids thought something would jump out of the well if they pulled the rope.

I know you were. I was just being askernine.

Dang, I totally missed those little pellets on the ground....... :rotfl:

That's because they were in your raisin bagel this morning.

Good to know. I might have to give them a try sometime!

Why? Caviar is disgusting. I should have asked for lobster bisque soup and steamed mussels.

I figured they HAD to be due for some maintenance by now....... :rolleyes1

Lordy, just you WAIT!!! You haven't seen the last of my dogs.

That Marv is a swell guy! I bet you could trust him with your budding career!!! :thumbsup2

He is a swell guy. But I work alone. (movie?)
