Hey All, I wanted to hang out more today, but Dad's surgery went dang near ALL flippin' day! We left the house at 11:15, ande got home about 6:15! He is doing great; loopy is great, right??

Spent the rest of the evening vacuuming stairs, changing beds, and finding matching sets of sheets. Why are there NEVER matching sets of sheets in anyone's linen closets?

Too bad you weren't "feelin' it" on the houseboat reunion, but I understand your obsession, especially when you'd been planning the trip for that long.

Wow, I'm glad the "watch the rope" thing didn't turn tragic!

Oooo, I can't wait for the pre-Disney Mega-Meet!

It really did migrate into the "obsess" category. I had taken my Mickey and Minnie books along with me, and was honing that trip of mine right up to the last minute!!!

It really could have, Glenn! So glad it wasn't a scene out of the Queen of Hearts palace!!

I can totally get not "feeling" the vacation. If I had a trip to Disney coming up shortly thereafter, that's where my mind would be as well. The anticipation is half of the fun!

Anyway, the important thing is that you swallowed any hint of a bad attitude and had a great time with your family. And OD-ing on s'mores.

Yes! It is!! So (as you well know) is re-living it all in the TR~~

I did have a good attitude. Frequent beverage breaks helped, and nearly getting beheaded gave me some great TR fodder.

I'm hoping to do the Family Fun 5K that they run the day before the Wine and Dine 1/2, so maybe we'll be there at the same time.

Camille, I haven't been reading everyone's posts, but through my skimming I see you lost a pet, and I just wanted to say I'm sorry. Big

Do you know what the best part about working from home is for the next two weeks? No Stinking Firewall! I can have my other laptop going and actually be able to DIS again. WOOOT!

Of course I discovered I returned just in time for another story of the conflict between your running and your rib bumpers.

It somehow seems appropriate.

I had a lot of updates to get through and am currently current again.

Coming home and getting to finally get to my vacation (my REAL vacation) destination was WAY too long a process. Although, I wouldn't have given up the Germany part for all tea in China, or Kazakhstan. I happened to know that's a lot of tea. And a lot of trips to the outhouse.

That was the first annual. And although I do hope it does become an annual thing, with this being Mike's first year back in the secular workforce, we'll have limited vacation time and limited income. We'll see...

Man I miss Jordy!!! REALLY miss him! I have been thinking about him all weekend and feeling like it is finally time to write a letter to him. I've been holding off until the initial first wave went out to him, but now I think it's time. I can't remember when he's slated to come home, but I have a tentative trip to So. Cal. planned for Feb. sometime after we get moved. I hope I can meet up with him then.

Quick story: my wife had surgery a couple of years ago to remove part of her colon. On the way to the hospital, her mom said, "We were thinking of taking you guys on a Disney Cruise next year." Upon coming out of the surgery, as the morphine wore off, my wife looked at me and said, "Did she really say that?"

for the record, and because you all seem to have ants in your pants (hmmm.. I wonder which is better ants, or a mini scythe higher up?) about the Disney part, I stayed up til 1:00 last night writing the first part of the DISMeet Chapter. And you are aware that it might take a couple installments for that, right? But I am hosting our Bible Study Christmas party tonight, and have yet to even be home (in Portland) to clean or decorate. So, I can promise you that there will be no installment tonight; but hopefully tomorrow- I still need to upload my pictures. Wanna know something fun?? I will now officially be switching photo folders from "Germany Trip" and "houseboat trip" to "Liesa's Disney Trip". That must mean we are VERY, VERY close!!!!
