The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

Well, we've got a wedding date and it is tentatively set for Oct. 31st. Not, as I am told, because they want a Goth wedding or somethingh, but that is #1) Her birthday, and #2) The anniversary of their first date 3 years ago.
Oh wow... that's definitely something to work into the plans... Congratulations to them, but this definitely complicates things for you.

Sanaa. Oddly, although this resort is all about Africa the restaurant's namesake is for the capital of a country located in Asia. Maybe for most of the clientele... close enough. Hot, dry, sandy, snakes... Yemen... whatever.
You know... Disney is fantastic with the details. When they're convenient.

I've done plenty of "yaking" after eating East Asian food and it's not fun.
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

And yet, here you are going back for more. :confused3

I've lived in the jungle and never once saw colorful images cast on sheets of mist. Maybe I should have paid more to get that perk in addition to snakes and scorpions regularly visiting my living room.
Snakes and scorpions or colorful mist... well it depends what that mist is made of, but I've got a pretty good idea which one I'd prefer.

Lots of whirlwind stuff happening next fall!

I agree that maybe a pushed up wedding may not be such a bad idea! Could still pull together a nice wedding in 4 months!

Just catching up after a long winter's...uh, break.

We ate them. That's what sugarplums are for.

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

ANOTHER ENGAGEMENT!!!

My son, Andrew's fiance texted a picture her new ring:

Hooray! Congrats to the couple!

Sadly, her parents are absolutely NOT onboard. They are staunchly Catholic; we (and Andrew) are not. Although we have our concerns, as things may be harder for them, especially when kids come around, and have voiced those concerns, they simply won't support them in any way, shape, or form. It breaks my heart to see them alienating the 2 of them from themselves, and to see Andrew and Emily, putting distance there, which in the long-run they may regret.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. Like @pkondz said, I'm happy to be available for commiseration via PM.

Andrew, as you all know is active military getting his MOS training in Ft. Gordon, GA, and just got his "Projection" to be sent to Guam! (Ummmm, HECK YEAH, we're excited!- already planning a trip there!)

I love having a built-in excuse to travel!

Move to AKL that is!!!!! WOOT!

:woohoo: Best resort ever! (except for Aulani)

Seriously, I guess hundreds of thousands of people will willwingly eat at a place called Yak and Yeti. I've done plenty of "yaking" after eating East Asian food and it's not fun.

I've made that same joke so many times!:rotfl2: And I still haven't eaten there, for that reason.

 That's exactly what I think when I hear "Yak".
Well that and ...
"Eddie? Is there something wrong with the dog?"
"Nah. He's just yakking on a bone."
"Blurch!"
"He's got it out."

+1:thumbsup2

Oh. And don't forget your car keys.

:rolleyes2

:lmao:

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Just how many middle names do you have?!?!?

I have a vast array to pick and choose from. Some I can't use here.

Is there a statute of limitations on griping about this? Because if there is, I don't want to miss out.

Never! Griping. Always. (Actually, I'm a pretty non-gripey person, but I can rant here and there.)

Too bad Disney doesn't actually offer something like that.

Give 'em a decade or so. I'm actually surprised they haven't established an African Safari Tour.

Another place I've yet to try.

It's nice to have beyond-burgers-and-chicken-nuggets places to eat. Theme park fare gets monotonous really fast!!

You're going to Gatorland Zoo?!?! Cool!

So much cheaper.

 That's exactly what I think when I hear "Yak".
Well that and ...
"Eddie? Is there something wrong with the dog?"
"Nah. He's just yakking on a bone."
"Blurch!"
"He's got it out."

I feel like this is a movie I should see.

So that's what's being built there.

Yup!

No worries.
I said I'd tell you, you don't have to feel like you're pressured into anything.

Coming soon....

And you know I'm not deducting, right?
I may not be awarding as many as you asked for...

So? You're saying I was overly optimistic?

Finally caught up after hearing about the celebration and jumping on the bandwagon last month.

So to summarize the last 117 pages, congrats, congrats, good luck, congrats, oh that looks yummy, have fun, how pretty, good luck, congrats.... (Repeat and rearrange as necessary!)

Welcome back!! We've missed you!!!!!

Yeah, I know this PTR is probably a little monotonous with that exact same cycle. Only 11 weeks left of exams and studying, and all. Next term is really just a massive big job shadow, so a little different. Thanks for hanging in there with me!!! It's great to have this little diversion to keep me sane during it all.

Good luck on your math test!

THANKS!!!!! :) Trying to stay positive.

Oh wow... that's definitely something to work into the plans... Congratulations to them, but this definitely complicates things for you.

It REALLY does! I'm deeply wrestling with the school thing, as I know I'm already pushing it BIG TIME with time out. Emily has asked Anara to be a bride's maid, so it's not like I can even THINK about all of us not going. GAH!! They've really put us in a hard spot!

You know... Disney is fantastic with the details. When they're convenient.

What's not convenient about trying to get permits and land from inefficient governments, building a nice, yet rustic, Base Camp in the middle of nowhere, or keeping green tourists healthy or just alive??! :lmao:

And yet, here you are going back for more. :confused3

It was pretty good. Hopefully, I won't know if the 2nd time is better.

Snakes and scorpions or colorful mist... well it depends what that mist is made of, but I've got a pretty good idea which one I'd prefer.

Where's your sense of adventure? :cool2:

Lots of whirlwind stuff happening next fall!

I agree that maybe a pushed up wedding may not be such a bad idea! Could still pull together a nice wedding in 4 months!

Probably too much!

Just catching up after a long winter's...uh, break.

You still have a toddler, right?

Hooray! Congrats to the couple!

Thanks! I'll let them know a highway engineer from Delaware is wishing them well.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. Like @pkondz said, I'm happy to be available for commiseration via PM.

I just may!

I love having a built-in excuse to travel!

Me too! Sometimes I concoct one so there's more traveling.

:woohoo: Best resort ever! (except for Aulani)

I need to see for myself, I think. Aulani or bust.

I've made that same joke so many times!:rotfl2: And I still haven't eaten there, for that reason.

I'll let you know how it goes down. As opposed to.... nevermind.

Can I bank that point. Or transfer it to say... another TR?

OH! And YOU! You be quiet too. I've made enough of a donkey of myself in other social media forums for one day.

I have a vast array to pick and choose from. Some I can't use here.

Darn. Those are the best ones.

Never! Griping. Always. (Actually, I'm a pretty non-gripey person, but I can rant here and there.)

I'm sure you can.
But only about life altering events.
I wouldn't expect you to rant about the little things...
Like, oh, I don't know. Misplacing keys or something.

It's nice to have beyond-burgers-and-chicken-nuggets places to eat. Theme park fare gets monotonous really fast!!

This is very true.
Luckily (unluckily?) I'm not there long enough to have it get old.

So much cheaper.

You'd think that a place where they have live gators would be the place to cost you an arm and a leg.

I feel like this is a movie I should see.

You serious Clark?

So? You're saying I was overly optimistic?

Just a tad, perhaps. Never hurts to ask.

Unless you push it. Then deductions start coming.
I think I've only deducted from 1 or 2 people though.

Darn. Those are the best ones.

You know... things like "Smart Donkey" "I know you have a brain in there somewhere" "Pass This Math Test" and "Get Out of the Fast Lane, Moron!"

I'm sure you can.
But only about life altering events.
I wouldn't expect you to rant about the little things...
Like, oh, I don't know. Misplacing keys or something.

Ok, to be fair, I've had to hunt down my phone, computer, its charger, my slippers, my freaking bath towel. Every. Dam....n. Day. The ONE time I rant on FB would naturally be the ONE time they rub my nose in my own doo-doo.

This is very true.
Luckily (unluckily?) I'm not there long enough to have it get old.

You need a long(er) trip. October would be a perfect time to say have a nice long trip with new friends.

You'd think that a place where they have live gators would be the place to cost you an arm and a leg.

Thank you. Now I have to go find Windex for my screen.

You serious Clark?

I have a bad feeling I should have seen this. Is this as in Griswold? Vacation?? It's been like 25 years since I've seen that.

Unless you push it. Then deductions start coming.
I think I've only deducted from 1 or 2 people though.

I better shut my trap then.

You know... things like "Smart Donkey" "I know you have a brain in there somewhere" "Pass This Math Test" and "Get Out of the Fast Lane, Moron!"

I especially like that last one.
We have a ring highway that encircles the city.
Once.... Once! A woman got a ticket for driving in the left lane. I so wish they'd do that more often!

Ok, to be fair, I've had to hunt down my phone, computer, its charger, my slippers, my freaking bath towel. Every. Dam....n. Day. The ONE time I rant on FB would naturally be the ONE time they rub my nose in my own doo-doo.

Well of course.

You need a long(er) trip. October would be a perfect time to say have a nice long trip with new friends.

I'll be honest with you, it's not looking good.
With this trip in February, the one in August and probably NYC early next year...
$$$$!

Thank you. Now I have to go find Windex for my screen.

Gesundheit!

I have a bad feeling I should have seen this. Is this as in Griswold? Vacation?? It's been like 25 years since I've seen that.

Yes. Christmas Vacation.
No Christmas is complete unless I see it.

I wonder if that sounds shallow?
There's a very good reason.

I better shut my trap then.

Nah. You're fine.

I'll still be griping about them taking out Animation Studios and One

I'm still a little bummed about this one too, I never got to see either while they were still in action.

Move to AKL that is!!!!!

Yippee!!:banana: Mov in' on up!

I've done plenty of "yaking" after eating East Asian food and it's not fun.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

One magical wonder that I'm more than a little looking forward to and hoping is up and shimmering by then is the River of Lights Spectacle. Fr

Do the have an estimate of when this will by in yet??

sending you good vibrations for your math test!!

Yes way way too much to do to add in a wedding! Or maybe a justice of the peace and then plan for a 10/31/17 vow renew big wedding? That's our plan. 8/27/16 justice of the peace. Our disney trip will be a family trip/disneymoon. Then in a few years when we can get money scrapped up we will have a vow renewal with a big party. The white dress and the works.

Hello, Friends!

As some of you know, I am in a position of deep doo-doo with school. Tomorrow I will attempt one final time to pass my math exam at 100%. I really, REALLY need whatever prayers, positive thoughts, or whatever you can offer at 2:00 PST if you think about it. I would never wish this level of stress on anyone!!

Thanks!!! You guys are the BEST kind of support team ever!!

Good luck today on your Math test. What kind of Math is it?

Just getting started on reading this TR. I'm only going to read the updates, it would take me till your trip this fall to get through all these pages of chatter. I do have a question. I don't understand about the "diapered" baby in the first update. I don't know if I'm not seeing it or am just clueless. Can you enlighten me?

I'm working today and have nothing to do so I was going to read your TR but this computer won't show the pictures! BOO! It's no fun if you can't see the pics! So now I'm bored!
