The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

Thanks for the info!! I'm just a little foggy on the lastest strategies on quickest way from an EPCOT resort to the front of the park. I'll hit up the transportation board and see whats what.

Ok, FPs for AK it is. I thought it might be that easy, but wasn't sure. And, yeah, for fine tuning... that'll definitely wait. After resort is for sure. And air tickets; I need to focus whatever time to do have to plan on that for now.

By the way, I haven't missed any TRs you have started for have going, right?? Since they aren't on the regular TR forum, I'm afraid I'll miss one you have going!

Maybe they used that on purpose to keep the whole resort with a more adult census load. ?? Obvioulsy, I love kids, like a lot since I have 5, but I'm also a fan of no splashing and quiet swims too.
I'm 34 years old, and if you pushed me in that pool, there would be a whole lot of splashing... and screaming... and crying... and wailing... and panicking... :rotfl:

I'd love your feedback, comments, suggestions, etc..... Sometimes I overlook obvious potential messups for sure!!
You plans just made me hungry, imagine that. I'm dying to try those ribs from the Harambe marketplace!

Also, would love your prayers for this ridiculous wrist of mine. I really need it to be all better before school starts up!!!
Prayers sent!

I think previous advice was probably the best, to do your FP+ for AK. MK is the easiest park to get late day FPs after using your initial three because there's so many rides. Granted, some of the hard to get ones are a bit trickier, but you should still be able to get some good choices!

Maybe, if you're not 100% sure what time you'll head out on that day, make your least desired FP+ the first one, that way if you miss that one you won't feel as badly over it (and if you don't feel like getting up before 9, you won't feel rushed because you HAVE to get going to make that FastPass)

Those do sound like some pretty good food options! Hopefully Sanaa works out for you some other time if you'd rather not do it that day, but at least if you have to make a detour, it shouldn't be too long to get from AK to AKL.

A hosp bed and weigh you, alarm us if you're out of it (or try to get out of it), put you in positions so we can do all manner of uncomfortable things to you, and make you a cappucino.

Won't let you sleep though.

I'm sitting here trying to imagine how a Zimbabwean accent WITH a twang would even sound!!! (And then got coffee on my qwerty because I had to try it myself.)

 I believe you!

Is there anything Canadians CAN'T do?

Stay warm.

Details, details.

So I just have to check on immigration requirements... plus the housing market in Utah.

See comments to others.

Sorry to hear that Lieasa.

Also, would love your prayers for this ridiculous wrist of mine. I really need it to be all better before school starts up!!!

Done!

I have 2 pages to catch up on but I had to say ----- You can say Hi to Paul and Todd the creepy chairs. I will find the pictures sometime.

Hey All,

Not that this PTR needs to be a blow by blow account of everything in my life, but a quick update on my stupid wrist:

Due to a massive scheduling deal at work, I ended up working swing today, in which I had my first experience (alone) of having a patient begin the active dying process. But given that I didn't get home until after midnight, I won't have to work my shift in the morning that I was originally scheduled to work. But that's A-OK!! Now I can begin the process of getting this thing healed.

Don't worry! You will know when a trip report has been started! :goodvibes

Super! Don''t want to miss a thing. :)

HAHAHA! I'm like that too. I really don't like to "just jump in". I take it nice and slow, and even get all the way in sometimes.

I LOVE me some ribs for sure! I haven't really studied menus very deeply, but rest assured, I will! We love all types of food and aren't picky at all, so we choose the places we want to go based WAY more on theming and location than the food, since we know there will always be something that we'll like.

You won't regret it!

We're all couning on you!

Ok, then... 3 FP+s for AK! Huzzah, one detail worked out. :)

That makes total sense; we'll go with Dinosaur. I can certainly take it or leave it.

That's what I'm thinking! And I know I want to have the kids see and spend some time at AKL. I know they'll really love it there!

Won't let you sleep though.

I"m afraid that's probably the nurses and lab. Draws are usually around 4:00AM and our med passes start right around 6:00. Of course regular vitals are often ordered as well EVERY 2 hours. :sad2::faint:

Stay warm.

You know... that's actually funny. Because I almost made a wise crack about that, but figured you'd come right back at me with something rather edgy.

So I just have to check on immigration requirements... plus the housing market in Utah.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Fuuuuuuh-neeee

Sending love and light to your wrist!

Thank you so much!! A little relief today, but then again, I haven't started folding laundry or doing my floors.

I have 2 pages to catch up on but I had to say ----- You can say Hi to Paul and Todd the creepy chairs. I will find the pictures sometime.

:lmao:Those things are so... odd. Creepy to be exact. But yes, now that this resort is a good possibility, they are high on my list of stuffs to see.

Hope your wrist is behaving and healing. Ugh, I got tendonitis in my foot in July from the amount of walking (in not so supportive shoes), so it took me a few weeks to get it under control, as I kept working through it. But I'm better now, and will be wearing better (but not as cute) shoes on my next Dis trip.

Hopefully, I'll be able to be kinder to my wrist for the next few days. I guess a fair amount of baby-ing is in order.

Nope. It's all about the food for me. ALL. ABOUT. THE. FOOD. ::yes::

I'm sooooo with you on that one. Unfortunately, it happens to be one of my wife's favorite rides. But that's a good choice nonetheless, because I don't think I've ever seen Dinosaur hit a wait time higher than 20 minutes in the morning, so if you miss your FP time and decide you still want to ride it, it shouldn't be too bad.

Yep. A hospital is the last place to go if you need rest.

J is for: Just This and That
So, today has been a bit of planning. Since things are becoming more concrete and stuff is falling into place, I need to start taking the planning seriously, and get to work on my Little Planning Books- The Mickey and The Minnie. This is the raw material which will (magically, as if by Pixie Dust) be transformed into handy-dandy little booklets that will help me organize my trip and trip planning. I'm pretty excited.

Naturally, I went with an array of bright and pretty colors because most of our stay will be at Art of Animation Resort- one must have a wide and colorful palette to work with, no? When the Deluxe portion of our stay is cemented, I'll find some appropriately themed papers for finishing up.

So far, 7 pages have been cut and one folded and stapled for the receipts pocket. This saved my bacon (costs) last time around. Now for the fun part of doing all the research of exactly what to put on all these pages of mine. It's a lot of fun narrowing down what's important for us to find/do/see/spend money on/etc... and what's important to have at our fingertips.

And, since the date(s) are now set in stone, so to speak, several others important dates are also locked in:

Flights- October 10, 2015; start looking at airfares. The goal is $400pp.

ADRs-
April 13th, for ALL of our days, including the split stay stuff

FP+s-
Sept 10th of the AoA portion; Sept 17th for the Deluxe portion (wherever that ends up being)

Hotel Reservation for Keys- January

Rental car for Keys Portion- July-ish

Also took care of a new ticker today. Now we have an accurate countdown to what's shaping up to be a fabulous trip!

My time is running out and I know my focus needs to start shifting to this:

It's going to be hard to get back into being so focused.... but with such a great support group here, I know I can do this!! Let's go TEAM!!!

I admit, I do enjoy all the food offerings, mostly because there is such a wide variety of eats! Honestly, the number of BAD meals I've had at Disney can be counted on 1 hand. Pizzafari comes to mind pretty quickly. And I DO love the planning it out part. Yup. I love that!!

Too true; not so much for the other 2 choices. I do know my kids will likely really love it, so I'll take one for the team and go on it.

Rest that wrist!

Trying.... Difficult. Because I don't have a robot that will vacuum for me.

Well, there is room service.

You know me so well!

HAHAHA! I'm getting there....

Liesa, I just came across this blog post by Touringplans. It is an analysis as to when the "day of" FP+ run out, depending on crowd level of the day. I think that might be helpful for you to determine which attractions to get FP+ for - and if you want to keep FP+ for the second park of the day or not.

http://blog.touringplans.com/2015/05/06/fastpass-plus-availability/

Thanks!! I took a look and it seems legit and follows a somewhat predictable pattern. I'll sure use that when it comes to fine tuning the plans. Right now, I'm just trying to get the big picture worked out and will flesh it out as time gets closer. Like you say, enough may change in the next months that I don't want to waste time.

That's really beautiful paper.

Yes.

Rah! Rah!

No? We have two!
Elle and Kay are their names.

Well, there is room service.

Wine list needs some work.

Um, is your name misspelled on your nametag?

What he said!
