The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

Don't know about the point of it.........but I've done it that way. :rolleyes1

Party pooper.

You mean THESE guys?
309-jpg.170570

Yes, I absolutely mean those guys.

And this guy?
290-jpg.170571

His neck and eyehole look like something out of Monsters Inc. :lmao:

I definitely saw some interesting costumes........some a little more "adult" than others........ I wasn't quick enough to get some of them in pictures, but I probably wouldn't post them here even if I had! :scared:

.... aaaaand that's partly the reason they instituted a dress code. A minority messin' it up for the majority.

As much as those things cost, I hope you are planning to use a prop/toy for your costume at least! :rolleyes2

I need a better one, actually. I may have to spring for one before I get my real job. Because, ya know, I *might* want to actually hear someone's heart tones and lung sounds. :rolleyes2

Now that's really cool. :cool1: I especially like the heartbeat/Mickey Head part! :thumbsup2

Why thanks!! A little bling goes a long way!

Yeah, don't SCARE us like that again!!! :rotfl2:

Dear Sir, I won't have to. No more school exams for this chick!

Well, how much fun the party is depends on who you are enjoying it with! :rolleyes1 But Pat and I agree.....been there, done that and the price increase sure doesn't make us excited to do it again, at least any time soon! :sad2:

Fine. That too.

Honestly, this'll will probably be the only one I will get to. It's a once kind of thing, but worth it that once.

Liesa, sending you a big hug!! Sorry that the day has turned so crappy!! Would he maybe be interested in doing something else with you instead of the Keys? There are other great places in Florida to visit. I loved the Gulf coast, I think it was Sanibel Island that was so lovely. We also went swimming with Manatees further north on the Gulf coast and that was fantastic. Since you are already in Florida and those places are closer to Orlando, they might be cheaper. So, some money can be put aside for Guam as well as doing your second honeymoon thing.

Alright. Looks like everyone's abandoned ship here, at least temporarily- it'll take some tender loving care to resurrect this thread and wake the dead.

Nah. Just too busy to keep up with the chatter in between updates!

I have a philosophy in life. Generally, things are what you make them. The more you pour into something, the more you will generally get out of it. Yes, for the most part, you get what you pay for.

Very true! This also applies to one's attitude.

Now, apply this to a not very scary, but oh so super fun Mickey party. Wouldn't it be a shame to go and not really put any effort in at all, and therefore not really get ALL the fun out of it you could? I mean, Disney only lets its adult guests dress up ONCE A YEAR!!! Doesn't it make sense to go all out and at least do something in the form of a costume?

Sure, unless you're a big stick in the mud who doesn't really enjoy dressing up in costume. Like, say, an engineer.:rolleyes1

According to The View, the stethoscope is just a prop and toy, but some of us know better than that. Believe it or not, a nurse actually knows how to use one. ;)

Step #1 is to store it in the freezer for 8 hours before using it on an unsuspecting patient, right?

Very cute!

Thank you, Pat and Marv; I really like her a lot and promise to make her proud!

Hooray for Pat and Marv!

I'm thinking that I'm going to adhere it to my dashboard for a while so I can continually be reminded that SCHOOL IS ALMOST DONE!!! WOOOOHOOOOO! Thank you Tanya ( @mom3sonstt ) for the thoughtful gift!

Hooray and Tanya! The end is so close...

I've been pushing the refresh button on my email ALL DAY LONG. Several of my cohort heard back from the hospital today and got job offers. Nothing for me yet.... I'm losing hope. Maybe tomorrow....

Hang in there! Persevere. One foot in front of the other.

Mike just got off the phone with his dad and his dad invited he and his 2 sisters to....

KEY WEST

all expenses paid in November.

Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.

Ummmmmm.... freaking never mind the fact, that OUR trip was already booked and paid for.

Now Mike is pretty sure we should dump the Keys part and just plan out Guam trip for a year out. We really needed a 2nd Honeymoon. I won't go into any personal drama, but we really kinda needed this trip. In a lot of ways.

Oh, man. I don't know what to tell you there. Did his father know of your plans? If so, that doesn't make much sense at all. I hope you guys get the retreat you need--somehow, some way!

Ummmmmm.... freaking never mind the fact, that OUR trip was already booked and paid for.

Well, that's annoying. I hope you guys can figure something out so you can have some couple time that doesn't result with someone in the state pen!

Ok, now I"m seriously in the dumps. It's just really turned into a crappy day. Some days are great, mountain top days, and others are like today.

Mike just got off the phone with his dad and his dad invited he and his 2 sisters to....

My knee jerk reaction is to get huffy and just plan a Girls' Trip to Cabo or WDW and forget it. (I really wanted to visit the Keys.) I dunno.

I'm going to eat Stroganoff now.

Well that's inconsiderate to say the least!

I abandoned everyone's ship. Including my own.

I did notice. But as I've said before.... It's a ship you steer. We're just passengers along for the sail. :) Take us at your own speed, Captain.

Or just your regular excellent writing.

Well, aren't you flattering.

Wait, lemme get this straight.
You're saying going through puberty while not being able to p is awesome and cool???

Huh. I would think it'd be awkward and possibly painful.

I was going to say something about older people and prostates. But then thought better of it.

IMHO... it does!

Squeeeeeee, I'm so excited!

That's the right attitude. If you go in thinking you better get your money's worth, then... well.... you probably won't.

Most everything follows the, 'You get out of stuff what you put into it' adage.

But... but.... that would mean.... work!

Yes Sir. It does.

Well, you could go to more than one MNSSHP... technically.

Shall I refer you back to the prices?

I don't watch the view, but... is it run be incredibly stupid people?

Incredibly stupid AND incredibly insensitive.

 That's perfect!!!!

I"m rather fond of them myself. ;)

And that makes it just so much more worth it, no?

Yes. I know the hard work it took to get me where I am at this point. Have a long list of other things to keep aiming at, but this one is very sweet.

Perfectly SPOOKTACULAR!!!I love this!

A HEAD stone at Haunted Mansion:yay:8-)

And her eyes are open. She's so scrumptuously creepy!

Love the costume ideas! The Ears are adorable!

Thanks, Alison! I think it turned out really cool!

How about "Hot Dog?"

That absolutely works!! Casey's FTW!

Love the ears!

Thanks (and HI), Tammie!

Love your costume! I can't believe you are so close to being done

17 days! 17 days!!!!!!

Adorable! Perfect for your trip, and it wouldn't surprise me if you manage to find some sort of occasion to wear them again.

Oh, well... yeah, I'm sure I can come up with some other occasions to enjoy them. ;)

2015-03-29-14-13-44-copy-jpg.170825

H is for Hats and a Hoodie...

Perfect! You all are so darned adorbable.
Love the outfit for MNSSHP!!!! And the ears!!! Love, love love!! They are perfect!!

Thanks, Dearie!! I think it's going to really be perfect for the occasion!

Saving the best for last???

It is certainly possible. :confused3:rotfl:

Don't lose hope - someone facility going to be lucky and thankful when you join their team!

Thanks, Donna! I will positively hear by the end of the day... at least that's what I was told at 11:00 this morning. It's 5:00...

Whew! Four pills! Too bad we don't live any closer, with Fran's arthritis, we probably have whatever you would have needed to even out your drawer! :lmao:

:lmao: It was Tramadol. It's ridiculous in the first place that it's a Schedule II Controlled Substance. Really not much more than glorified Ibuprofen. The only thing your "replacement" meds wouldn't have is the prescription label. ;)

And here I'm just going to reheat Mac n cheese from yesterday and make Tuna melts.

Hey, leftover stroganoff over here. But I did make the MOST fabulous sweet and sour red cabbage to go with it last night. Mmmmmm!!:lovestruc

I'm sure you will hear soon. Perhaps all the various departments are fighting over who gets you!

HAHA! I only applied for Med-Surg as everyone is saying that brand new grads really should work in that area before specializing. Gets you some solid skills in assessment and prioritizing.

My new boyfriend

He's a keeper.

image-jpg.170887

Mickey and my travel-buddy/middle son Ryne.

I really love this picture! I hope he's open to meeting me next Fall. :)

H is for Hugs! And hugs to you with the latest vacation drama.

I needed that hug! Thanks, Tanya.

Wow. That sucks. Glad you found them!

Me too. I'd hate to lose that license!

Hang in there.
And if it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be.
Maybe something even better will come along.

Very true. I keep comforting myself with that, but the reality is I'm not thrilled about spraying my resume even more.

Sorry, I'm missing something here.
Did his Dad not know you guys were going in October or something? Did he forget? Does he not know that you've already booked and paid for everything?

No, sadly, you are not missing anything. I was stunned. No, Mike reminded him very early (like the first thing) during their phone convo. Honestly, girls' or solo trip somewhere is sounding mighty nice.

:lmao: It was Tramadol. It's ridiculous in the first place that it's a Schedule II Controlled Substance. Really not much more than glorified Ibuprofen. The only thing your "replacement" meds wouldn't have is the prescription label. ;)

HaHa! No we don't have anything that lightweight in our arsenal. It starts with Norco 10 and goes up from there! :rotfl2:

Big hugs are what I needed last night. If I don't hear back from the hospital tonight, I may need another.

Maybe. I could be up for a few days in say, Charleston or Savannah. I'll look into Sanibel. I will also look into some other Caribbean destinations and see what pops up. Hmm.. manatees. That sounds fun too!! You are always so full of fantastic vacation ideas!!

Nah. Just too busy to keep up with the chatter in between updates!

You get a pass, Mr. Bossman.

Very true! This also applies to one's attitude.

Yessirree. And your choice in Soda Pop.

Sure, unless you're a big stick in the mud who doesn't really enjoy dressing up in costume. Like, say, an engineer.:rolleyes1

Managers are barely engineers, so you've aced yourself out of that excuse now.

Step #1 is to store it in the freezer for 8 hours before using it on an unsuspecting patient, right?

Stawp sharing out secrets. It's the nurses' way of shocking someone back into a regular heart rhythm. ;)

The end is so close...

17 days! !17 DAYS!!!!!!!

Hang in there! Persevere. One foot in front of the other.

I plod well...

Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.

That cracked me up SO BAD. Thanks for the chuckle on this crappy morning. (Actually, it's going a little better. We're going out for dinner to talk some things out, I finished a paper that's due soon, and the hospital says they'll let me know by tonight.)

Oh, man. I don't know what to tell you there. Did his father know of your plans? If so, that doesn't make much sense at all. I hope you guys get the retreat you need--somehow, some way!

But no, you didn't misunderstand. He did know, and planned this anyway. Normally, he's a really awesome guy. I love to hang out with him, we go to dinner pretty often etc... I think what's happening here is that he is watching his sister, Mike's aunt, live out her last days (literally) and he is feeling the crunch to travel while he still can. It's another on his bucket list, and he knows his time with his kids is limited. (Spouses weren't invited.) I shouldn't be selfish and should let them have this time. But....

Well, that's annoying. I hope you guys can figure something out so you can have some couple time that doesn't result with someone in the state pen!

It was more disappointing, and yeah, sorta annoying. We'll talk about it tonight and see what compromise can be made.

Well that's inconsiderate to say the least!

It actually kinda was, but I can see where he's coming from a little. See my reply to Mark above...

HaHa! No we don't have anything that lightweight in our arsenal. It starts with Norco 10 and goes up from there! :rotfl2:

Norco is good. Have some myself that I never took. I also have Percocet, but that gives me the MAJOR heebie-jeebies, so only took 2 after my ankle surgery and still have the whole bottle, just in case. I'd rather tough it out, than pretend like I'm a Meth-head with the sceeves.

And I thank you for that.

You're welcome. ;)

I got a "squee" out of Liesa!

I'm hoping y'all will get a waaahoooty too tonight.

Dang.

Pass.
I want a free ride.

OH... sooooo much I could say about our current election, free rides, and you fitting into WAY too many folks' ideas of "The American Dream" right now. I'll reserve my soapbox for other occasions. The only for reals "free ride"... nope there is no such thing.

I would prefer if you didn't, thanks.

Shall we continue with our "free ride" discussion here as well?

.... aaaaand that's partly the reason they instituted a dress code. A minority messin' it up for the majority.
Sounds more like the Majority messin' things up for the MANority........ :headache:

Dear Sir, I won't have to. No more school exams for this chick!
Okay, you DID say SCHOOL exams. Something tells me there will be a number of other type exams in your future............. :rolleyes1

Well, aren't you flattering.
He HAS been working a lot of hours lately. I'm thinking he's under the influence of exhaustion. :faint:

I'm hoping y'all will get a waaahoooty too tonight.

I could use one right about now.
Back to work in 1.5 minutes....

I agree. I was just kidding earlier.

Shall we continue with our "free ride" discussion here as well?

Only if you sing it.

Sounds more like the Majority messin' things up for the MANority........ :headache:

Sadly, you are probably right. :sad2:

Okay, you DID say SCHOOL exams. Something tells me there will be a number of other type exams in your future............. :rolleyes1

Ok, fiiiiiine. There is that one *itsy bitsy* exam called the Boards.

He HAS been working a lot of hours lately. I'm thinking he's under the influence of exhaustion. :faint:

He'd have to be under the influence of *something* to think this is good writing. :lmao:

I could use one right about now.
Back to work in 1.5 minutes....

You sure can get a lot done in 5 minutes.

I agree. I was just kidding earlier.

I know you were. ::yes::

Only if you sing it.

I can sing a little. I'm threatening to go do some karaoke with the girls after Pinning. Just for some kicks and giggles.

That's what she said. :rolleyes1

Which you will make a video of and post here of course.

I KNEW it! I totally knew one of you goofballs would take the bait. Doofus.

Possibly. Although, now we're back to the "under the influence" discussion.
