The ABC's of a FALL Trip with Friends, Food, Wine, and a Conference- A PTR for Now UPDATED 9/14

My daughter loves Coronado Springs. I was supposed to stay there but got a magical upgrade to Grand Floridian. Who would say no to that. :)
Funny, you should mention that. I got one of those exact same upgrades as well from the Coronado and it was actually on the epic trip I think.
That is a real bargain. I didn't know that deal existed.

Is Mary Ellen married to Denny and used to be a nurse?
It is! She used to go by MEK. She actually still is a nurse. I believe she is a critical care, cardiac Nurse Practitioner. Oddly, she was the one that was the final straw on the camels back so to speak that put me over the edge in my decision to go back to school. I have a very vivid memory of the two of us standing in line for expedition Everest talking about being nurses and stuff like that and she turns to me with a serious face and she said, “ Have you ever thought about becoming an advanced provider?“

I had been thinking about it, but I was very nervous about the time off. I’d have to take for school and the added liability. It was frankly pretty scary. But she said I’d be very good at it And that was that. I think I was in school within six months of that conversation.

YAY!!! I'm so glad you found me here and joined the chatter! Such a happy party here!

Disney has loads of conferences, I wonder if you could find one there?!
The catch being, getting someone else to pay for it - when it's a family business, it's coming out of my pocket one way or another! Dh does do some consulting work that sometimes involves travel paid for by other people, but so far nothing that would allow for a WDW stop. It is how I finagled a Banff trip last year, however. (two events with a week in between, and the second one started in Edmonton, so I convinced him that we neeeeeded to spend the week in between in the Canadian Rockies)

Raise your hand if those soundtracks are in your go-to list as well!!!
Ooh, me, me, me! I like to cue up different Disney-fied ambience for my classroom every day. My students are getting well-versed already and asking me for this or that one. :) My favorite is the Main Street, U.S.A. loop. Lots of my grandma's favorites on that list, so double charming!

D'oh!!! :headache: Yeah... the other people paying for it is kinda key. Tell him you need some company inspiration from Uncle Walt and it'd pay for itself with wise advice!

That wouldn't take much convincing for me! I love the Canadian Rockies for sure. Such a beautiful area.

It's the BEST music! Seriously, the curators do such a fantastic job at choosing the mixes for each area.

I have zero desire to stay at the Contemp(t).

Tell me how you really feel about it!
Coronado Springs and AKL
Nice!
I’m going to a conference, so to reveal I’ll be at Coronado was probably not shocking.
::yes::
I’m a desert rat at heart

I’m old and crotchety now and want a quick walk to the bus after a long day in the parks.
Meh. I wanted that when I was young and full of energy.
Heh, maybe I’m just wiser.
There it is.
Raise your hand if those soundtracks are in your go-to list as well!!!
Nope. Must admit, the background music barely registers with me, if at all.
by doing a 3-night package at the contracted hotel; I also get a $75 Amazon gift card.
Really! Never heard of that before.
I’ll be staying at Coronado with Lori and Karilynn ( @Malia78 )
Say hi to Kari for me.
Kinda love me some AKL.
This I know. ::yes::
we were magically upgraded to Club Level.
I remember that. What a great perk!
Note the excessive use of the word beautiful.
Beautifully said.
Mary Ellen, was able to scope out a pretty good rate for the Free Dining Package for this portion and was actually a much better value than even some of the Mods she looked at for me.
Really! Now that surprises me.
There are mornings I feel that old.
