The ABC's of a BSN Celebration! Trip Wrap up; Final Thoughts (7/11)

K is for a KALEIDOSCOPE OF DISNEY COLOR!!- Pt. 1

It's time to go on Steppe's ABC Scavenger Hunt! If you've followed me for a while now, you might know that for the last many trips I've created Alphabetical Scavenger Hunts for myself using a variety of themes over the years. Past hunts have included PLACES or AREAS, Drinking Through the ABCs, and THINGS or ITEMS. Trust me, it's getting harder and harder to come up with an original topic to hunt for each time. This one, ended up being really fun though and once again served its purpose: slow down and take note of the finer details that Imagineering takes such great care to execute.

These Scavenger Hunts are not as easy as they might appear. Just to remember to be looking is harder than you'd think! For this one, I tried very hard to limit myself to photos of things that are "mostly permanent". For example, for M, I thought, "It's obvious, I can take a photo of my Mocha.", but that's not really something hard-wired into Disney. On the other hand, I also used things that aren't necessarily there all the time too, like landscaping or such. Keeping it whimsical and fun, I must have done something right because Mikki even joined in at times. "Hey, Mom! You could use... for Letter ?"

So now, without further ado, I present the colors of Disney World!!

AQUAMARINE, icy and clear,
Formed from the hands of Elsa in fear.

BLUE was the color chosen for me,
I painted my squares and felt so FArtsy!

CHARTREUSE is the color of orbs hung up high,
The "milk" that is matching some vilify.

Woody has pants made of
DENIM it’s true,
And denim’s a color made from indigo blue.

ECRU AND EGGSHELL, two colors found here,
Colors as real as these eggs do appear.

I looked for a
FUCHSIA most of the week,
This one will work; my options were bleak.

Disney has plenty of
GOLD which to find,
Making the murals much more refined.

GRAY is another color of G,
Making this letter easy for me!

H is for
HONEY, golden and good,
I’d eat some with Pooh, if only I could.

INKY and black, darkness portrayed,
This is the hue for shadow and shade.

Dragons aplenty, carved in green stone,
J is for
JADE that I can’t tote home.

Follow me Reader, we’ll go on Safari,
I took your picture in
KHAKI, Oops, I’m so sorry!

LIME is a favorite flavour of mine,
Oh, you wanted a sip? Maybe next time!

LAVENDER fields fragrant and sweet,
Lavender coffee's a wonderful treat!!

Yellow, red, blue and
MAROON,
I sure hope these tents are gone very soon!

I will end here with our Hunt half complete,
I made some fajitas; it's now time to eat!!

Thanks for the seizure! o_O

::yes::

I bet. Next time, find items that don't contain that letter. I bet it's tougher than you think for some letters.

Not surprised by that. I've found myself, camera in hand, marveling at something and suddenly "Oh! I should be shooting this."

Permanent but transient. Interesting. Made it quite a bit more difficult, I'm betting.

Your nails too. :) Or rather nail. Nice shot. :thumbsup2

Okay... so I, being a guy, may have had to Google "ecru"... :rolleyes1

Honey with Pooh? Is that a way of sweetening the message when you tell someone to eat ****?
INKY and black, darkness portrayed,
Like that one. Nice find.
J is for JADE that I can’t tote home.
Yes you can. It'll just cost you between $140- $480.
Lavender coffee's a wonderful treat!!
You can make coffee out of lavender? Or is it an additive?
I will end here with our Hunt half complete,
I made some fajitas; it's now time to eat!!
:laughing: Food before writing. ::yes::

we QR scanned the menus. Sorry. I’m not a fan, man. I want to be able to see the whole thing at a time and not have the experience remind me I’d old as dirt and can’t see anymore.
I agree 100%. I hate having to scan through all the dropdowns. It is much more efficient to scan a paper page.

So, circumstances have come up that I'll be going back again (I know, I know....) 4/20-4/24.
How fun! We are going back to Disney for a quick 3 night stay in April (12-15) because it is fun at Disney and everything is still mostly lockdown or limited or just not open here. Plus we will have had our two vaccine doses and be 100% safe. :)

Thanks for the seizure! o_O

Any time, my friend!
I bet. Next time, find items that don't contain that letter. I bet it's tougher than you think for some letters.

Hey, that's not a bad idea!! I'm starting to think about my next Hunt and need to really pull up my Creative Thinker Pants.

Yes, it really did!! I tried to aim for intentional coloring like paint, or landscaping, or such, but also ended up with food items that are indeed unique to Disney.
Your nails too. :) Or rather nail. Nice shot. :thumbsup2

I had 2 of those color and I love that that one just by happenstance ended up in this photo!!
Okay... so I, being a guy, may have had to Google "ecru"... :rolleyes1

Now ya know!!
Honey with Pooh? Is that a way of sweetening the message when you tell someone to eat ****?

Like that one. Nice find.

@Malia78 was with me when I found that particular gem. It was in the Walt Disney exhibit in DHS. :thumbsup2
Yes you can. It'll just cost you between $140- $480.

That's the cost of the item.... shipping it would be probably the same!
You can make coffee out of lavender? Or is it an additive?

A lavender syrup is made and a pump or two of that in a good latte is amazing!! They have it at my fave coffee place in the little town my hospital is at and I'll get one every now and then when I'm on call there.

:laughing: Food before writing. ::yes::
Always!

So, circumstances have come up that I'll be going back again (I know, I know....) 4/20-4/24. Kari and I are looking for another lady or two who would want to share our AoA room to make the trip more affordable. The total cost to you would be $349 or $261 for all four nights depending on if we have 3 or 4 in the room. Please let us know ASAP if anyone would want to share this with us. It's a Little Mermaid room to keep the cost down. I know this is short notice, but exciting nonetheless.
If only!!

Brilliant!

You know, I hate to be "that guest" but I will be asking for paper menus from now on. If I washed my hands (or used their santizer) and they've presumably wiped them down as well, there really is no reason to not go back to the reusable ones we've always had. #menurantover

OH dang!!! I'll be missing you by 5 days! :( and yes, Disney is for now the primo place to get away to. I do imagine as things open up more and more Disney will become busier but aslo folks will venture out to other destinations as well.

Hey, that's not a bad idea!! I'm starting to think about my next Hunt and need to really pull up my Creative Thinker Pants.
That’s me. Always coming up with the mediocre ideas.

Think you did a pretty good job. :)
@Malia78 was with me when I found that particular gem. It was in the Walt Disney exhibit in DHS. :thumbsup2
Did she spot it or you?
That's the cost of the item.... shipping it would be probably the same!
Nah. Toss it in your checked bags. I’m sure it would be fine.

:rolleyes2

Neon colors loud and bright

Light’s up pretty when it’s night!

O is for
Olive, some green and some gray,
A food that some love, but what do you say?

(Ochre works too.)

Antimony, copper, a little tin,
P is
Pewter for the win!
(Bonus points for the location)

What’s a Quince?, ask you may,
Why it’s this, so I say!
(You have no idea how hard ‘Q’ was to find!)

R was easy,
Ruby Red!!
But I’ll take emeralds instead. 😉

Silver is the color of money
I thought this price was pretty funny.

Terracotta, Tangerine,
Can you guess where the T’s were seen?

Ultramarine a nice shade of blue,
For letter ‘U’, this surely will do!

Violet was easy, but here’s Verdigris
This one is clever, so sayeth me.

White was a color found everywhere,
I'll give some examples you can find there.

A color which maybe is new unto you,

Xanadu. Look it up. I swear it is true!

CB914F7A-ED9F-42DC-818B-D18193FEC2BE.jpeg

‘X’ was quite hard, but ‘Y’ sure was not,

Yellow was easily found when I sought.

Zomp was the last of the colors I found,
Look and YOU’LL see that colors abound!

Thank you for joining me on another Steppe's Scavenger Hunts! Hope you are all well and getting the most out of life!!

I love your scavenger hunts! They are so creative and fun to read. This one, especially, was awesome. Great job coming up with the colors and theme for the post. :goodvibes
