Posting early so you guys can pick up some munchies & drinks. :drinking1

This year: Our Watch Party is shortened this year due to the pandemic.
It is for the actual award show only: 8pm ET / 5pm PT,
Not the "Red Carpet" segment.

NBC says there will be NO red carpet for any guests/presenters to walk down.

So, while E! and NBC are having pre-shows they are still calling the "Red Carpet," they will just be pre-show interviews of the nominees at homes and some memorable clips of past moments. E! did that for the Emmy Awards last Sept. Only Tracy Ellen Ross dressed up. Pretty much everyone else appeared in t-shirts or casual clothes and talked about movies most of us didn't get a chance to watch. The few who did dress up a little, didn't have a camera person at home to be able to pull back and do a full shot of their outfit. The "Red Carpet" in Sept, was a dismal, boring failure. No one on the DIS really watched the boring pre-show interviews. So, I'm not even including it for our Watch Party this year. (The times are listed below if you guys want to watch. But the Watch Party will be for the award show.)

The Golden Globes are 6 weeks late this year due to the pandemic. The show will be on 2 coasts: L.A. & NY. So there will be less presenters and crew at each venue. The nominees/winners don't have to travel at all as they will appear virtually from home (in their pjs :ssst: ) via Skype or Zoom.

Hosts: Amy Poeler in L.A. and Tina Fey in NY.
This is their 4th time co-hosting the Golden Globes.

Hopefully, there will still be some [drunken] speeches to laugh at :lmao: cry :sad1: or be forced to sit through as people are home getting sloshed. :drinking1 :headache:
Of course, awards are handed out (sort of.)
High_Five.gif
:crazy2: :sad2: :hyper:

The Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award goes to: Jane Fonda

The Carol Burnett Award, a television special achievement award to "celebrate the highest level of achievement in the medium," goes to: Norman Lear.

Golden Globes Ambassadors this year, (formerly known as Miss/Mr. Golden Globes,) are Satchel and Jackson Lee, children of three-time Golden Globe nominee Spike Lee and producer Tonya Lewis Lee. This position goes to the young daughters or sons of the film industry's most respected actors, directors, and producers and are up & coming in the industry themselves. They assist by holding and presenting the GG awards to the winners.

Everyone join in! The more the merrier. Newbies welcome! :welcome: Load up on munchies & drinks, wine & booze welcome. Pop in and out any time throughout the show! popcorn::

Thanks for the reminder! I am behind on my game this year. I will need to step it up before the Oscars. I have only seen two of the dramas and two of the musicals.

My kids FINALLY get to finish filming Nutcracker, so assuming that ends on time, I’ll be here!

With so many available on streaming services this year, I’ve actually seen quite a few. Rare for me 🤣

I’m at a loss as I haven’t seen too many since I have been working two jobs the last year

I’m excited for this show, is always my favorite of the awards season.

I'm watching some pre-award stuff on NBC and the 2 people so far have been dressed nicely. Leslie Odom Jr. is casual but not too casual.
