The 2010 Baltic Thread--Cruise Tips and Planning

Photocopying my passports for Russia. I did one black and white copy per person. I'm low on ink so is that enough for 3 excursions? Someone posted that they were given their copy back, so they only needed one copy. Did others have the same experience?

We had 3 each just in case we lost one and didn't need them all.

We were told by Anastasia that we needed 2 color copies.

Did you do any dcl excursions? Did you need colour or did black and white suffice.

We had black and white copies, but no one ever even asked to see them.

We didn't have them, but on the ship some folks said they were told they needed them, so we went to Guest Services and they made us a copy - no charge.

Of course, then we didn't need them at all.

We are thinking of booking the 18th July, do you think it will sell out!??

It seems to be the most popular of the four Baltic cruises, no discounts but reasonable availability, so shouldn't sell out, but as reports are very good from the first two and there are not any more for 2010 and 2011, maybe a late rush so do not leave it too long.

Review offers here,

Thanks Andrew. We have only ever been on the Wonder! Really looking forward to it!!!

Cant miss this one, sailing from Dover, England, no flights, 12 nights, and no repeated in 2011.

Wonder is far too short!!!

If you book, check out the Cruise meets thread, and also if you have kids, the kids thread.

I don't 'think' it will sell out, as its had similar availability for a while and I have been checking it, but with so so many positive reviews, I could see a surge in late bookings. If they are going to discount they would have done it by now.

Any idea what occupancy rate was for the first Baltic cruise? It was hard to tell on the ship as the temps were chilly most days so there deck 9 was never full of people like it usually is. Our server only had 2 (4 person) tables for the first dinner seating. I think that is less than 1/2 of what they normally get.

We just need to sort the time off from work

People on this thread quoted it a few weeks back, was it something about 2,000 people on it, so no where near full. It would be over half, Occupancy is 2,400 but can have a max of 3,000 dependent on who is using what stateroom ,ie 4 in a Cat 4, etc.

So min 66% but more likely 83%

We just need to sort the time off from work
:thumbsup2

I was told last week from the Wonder crew members there were 2000 cruisers total, including 200 kids and the repeat cruisers numbered between 1300-1400.

Maximum capacity on the ship is 2750 passengers.

Yeah, that sounds about right. In one of the gathering in the lounge they asked how many repeat cruisers there were and seemed like almost everyone's hand in the room went up.

Nice to know that my sources were correct.

I don't think I've seen this question asked and answered, what was the Castaway Club gift for the Baltics cruise?

We got a canvas bad thing...similar to what we got it the Med. And we got two metal water bottles....and we got a set of coasters - one for each of the countries we made port in.....'cept England which I thought was kinda odd.

DS and BIL were part of a Disney focus group. We were told there were just under 1700 passengers and almost 1,000 of them were DVC members. 90% were repeat cruisers on DCL. Our servers told us the 2nd cruise was up with 2,000. I have been told the total guest capacity is 2,200.

We were told both but the only one we ever needed was with Anastasia. And only dh needed it when he gave them the credit card info. I don't know if he gave them a color copy or not.
