Quick question for you. My kids are very into pin trading, do you have a lanyard for pin trading? I only let them trade with CMs and would love for them to trade with you.

I have been reading this thread for a while. We had our first stay ( Husband and I only for Anniversary) at Yacht Club this past December and it was amazing. Our next family trip in June we are staying on the Beach Club side, I'm sure it's just as nice. In December it was too cold to use the pool so I have no idea what the pool hours were. Anyone know what time it opens in June? In December it closed early like 8 PM.Also we have a standard room booked, not sure what I should request but would like to be close to SAB if possible. I'm very excited to be staying at these resorts again .

Not an "official" answer but we've gone in late June and the hours were
10 AM - 10 PM. Of course the quiet pool was always open!

thank you for the link. I found a great set of SAB photos from it, which is better than I'd been coming up with by simple googling.

Getting SO EXCITED We leave for YC in 10 days. Gardengrocer called Saturday to confirm our order for delivery on Apr 15. Today and tomorrow are laundry days. I need to get all the new clothes washed without ruining them. Thank goodness for those Shout color catchers. I will get the luggage down from the closet top shelf at the end of the week. can't wait to see the look on my girls' faces --and DH too--when they see SAB. We have always stayed on the monorail so this will be a new experience.

Oh yes, it's a huge part of my job. I think today I traded 50 pins.

Here's my take on requests - I don't usually request anything and we are always very happy. Stayed at the Beach Club in late Jan/early Feb. When we checked in the CM said "your room is ready" and I kindly asked "Does our room have a daybed?" It did (if it didn't I would have kindly asked if they had a room with one). In my experience, most people are willing to try and help if you are genuine and kind. Our room was a standard room and it had a daybed and a view of a tiny but adorable courtyard. I guess it was technically a rooftop? view - but the rooftop we could see was so tiny and the courtyard was so cute. It had a full balcony. We were very pleased. The Beach Club was SO nice and the room was VERY clean. We've always had great mousekeeping service at WDW - but I think BC was prob the best yet. I requested an extra sheet for the daybed and they brought me 2 extras and the lady was at the door in less than 5 minutes. All of this to say - don't stress - I have never gotten a bad room at WDW. Once we stayed at WL while part of it was under construction. I kindly asked for a room away from the construction and they very kindly put us in a great room with a great view of Bay Lake. It was a long walk from the elevators, but the view was stunning. Just focus on the positives and have a fantastic time!

My family will be returning to the Beach Club for our upcoming Jan Marathon weekend trip. The ONLY thing we didn't absolutely love about our stay at the BC was the l-o-n-g walk from the elevator to our room. I felt as if I needed to leave a trail of breadcrumbs to find our room!

Does anyone know if you could walk straight out the back door of the patio rooms to go to Epcot? (Does the door lock behind you?) It sure would save some time going to the parks.

Please forgive me if this is an often-asked question. I haven't read through the entire thread.

I am looking forward to getting to know y'all better as I plan our Jan 2011 trip!

Nope, the patio doors do not lock behind you. However, if you go toward Room 1501 (which would be in the opposite direction from the lobby), there is an exit door next to that room that takes you out and onto the path to Epcot. It cuts off half your walk time. Another alternative would be to add a request onto your reservation that you would like a room close to lobby.

The quickest way to Epcot would be out the side door near the quiet pool.

On direct outside acccess for BC (and YC) Teena is (of course correct that you should not leave through your patio and not lock your door.

Your room may be far away from the lobby and with long hallway walks. It is often helpful to check out the stairways in your wing, and be able to chart your course to the secondary elevators, not just the main elevator banks. Some stairs come out in very favorable places to outside access and others some not so much. We don't have trouble with walking or stairs, so we find it kind of an adventure to explore. I know that is not the case for everyone.

We've had a couple "where the heck is this?" moments but mostly "Cool, that's really close to [xyz]" moments.

Isn't that the truth. I've explored some of those stairs and when I see where they end up, I'm so surprised! I personally love to stay way down the hallway, as close to 1501 as possible so I can just go out that door and I"m halfway to Epcot. It's nice to go back in that door too when you are coming home from Epcot after a long day there. It's so quiet back there in that area!! And since when I stay there it is normally for a short trip just to visit Epcot, it is perfect. We also like the late night swims in the quiet pool which is close to that area too!!

The lounge is also on the fifth floor. You have to use your key in the elevator to get access to the fifth floor. There are one and two bedroom suites and deluxe rooms on the first, second, third and fourth floors that also give you club level access (in other words, your room keys will give you access to the fifth floor where the club level lounge and concierges are).

So it would be possible to stay on the first floor and still be at club level? I do not handle elevators well and we wanted club level.

Coming down May 8th to 15th and we have requested a full balconey at the Beach Club. Really important to us as my DH and I love to sit out at night when our kids are settling down. If we are in a standard room with full balconey what will be our view.

If you are booked into a REGULAR CL level room (i.e. NOT a suite or deluxe room), then you will be on the fifth floor.

The suites and deluxe rooms are spread around the resort on all floors.
