Hey, you were sort of our neighbor! We just got back from 7 nights (3/26-4/2) and were in 5687. My MIL was in room 5681. :)

I agree with you 100% about the BC. It was our first time there, and we will be back again and again. It's our new "home" at WDW. LOVED it!!!!

BTW: Does anyone know what category room #5687 is? We booked CL-Garden View, but we had a "full frontal" Lagoon View! We were right next to the Nantucket Suite, on the end of the wing jutting out towards the portion of SAB where the slide ends. We could see ALL of the Lagoon, BWI, S/D, walkway to Epcot, etc. It was BEAUTIFUL! Just wondering if we got an upgrade or what. Our room did have a daybed too (per our request for our autistic son). This was definitely much more than a "garden view" room!

You had a water view CL room.

Just like the BC, some of the rooms have daybeds at the YC.

All rooms at the YC either have a patio or full balcony.

The quiet pool at the YC: If you are in the lobby of the YC and go down the long hallway past the store and keep going, you'll eventually come to the quiet pool.

Thanks!

Is the quiet pool close to the convention center area?

We spent quite a bit of time at the quiet pool at the WL and would probably do so at the YC. Any idea if the size of the pool is similar to the WL and does it have a deep end? Also is it in a semi private area like the WL?

Sorry for the tons of questions. The quiet pool actually plays a large role in our decision of resorts so I want to see how it compares to the WL - which we love :goodvibes

Happy Easter everyone :goodvibes

There used to be one and found it in my bookmarks, but it is no longer in service. :sad2:
It was from the guy who had the original FAQ for the YC/BC, Joe Cool. Click here.
Wow! Talk about a blast from the past! Alot of us old DISers on there!
He went to college and got busy with life and obviously let the server fees go.
thank you for the link. I found a great set of SAB photos from it, which is better than I'd been coming up with by simple googling.

Here's the website if anyone else is interested. I think SAB is incredibly difficult to photograph, so it's nice to see someone else attempt to do it (and succeed, too):

Happy Easter, Little Lulu.

Thanks!

Is the quiet pool close to the convention center area?

No. The opposite direction.

If you are in the lobby of the YC and looking out the front door, the convention center is out the front door and to the right. If you are in the lobby of the YC looking out the front door, to get to the quiet pool, you would turn left, go past the front desk and down the long hallway, past the gift shop and keep going and going and going.

There are only two suites on the fifth floor, the Presidential and Vice Presidential. The Vice Presidential has a huge full balcony. If you go out the back door of the BC lobby and look up to the fifth floor on your right, that huge corner balcony is the Vice Presidential. It is my favorite room!!! I described it about a week ago on this thread somewhere.

The other one bedroom suites are scattered throughout the resort on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. Some have patios, some have standing balconies and some have full balconies. They all have king beds and a daybed and of course have 5th floor access to the lounge and CL concierges. Some of the one bedroom suites are real real real far away from the lobby! Unfortunately, you can't be guaranteed you will get one that is close to the elevators (to go up to the fifth floor and see you) or one that has a full balcony.

Very helpful! Thank you so much! :goodvibes I called CRO earlier, and unfortunately the Vice Presidential suite is not available during the time we'll be there.

Does the YC have a Vice Presidential suite on the CL floor, or any CL rooms I can book that will guarantee a King size bed with a water view?

Teena you are such a wealth of information on this thread & I so much appreciate all your wonderful info.

My DH & I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary & staying at BC for the first time in 26 days:) We will be arriving on Friday 4/30 & staying until Fri 5/7. I so hope I get to meet you!! Cannot wait to get there!!

I'm really sorry but I'm really not sure on that. I know there are two suites up there on the fifth floor and a bunch of other suites throughout the YC. I haven't worked the YC or been in many rooms over there in years except for the huge suite on the first floor. They keep me at the BC all the time. I just am not sure of the bedding in the suites at the YC, sorry.

Not sure whether or not I'm working on that Saturday but I'll be there for sure on Sunday and Monday. Recently they decided the BC lobby greeter should be in the lobby 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM so that's when you will find me there except during my breaks. If I'm not in the lobby, my breaks are short so I'll be back before too long. Congrats on the 25 years. Bob and I last year celebrated our 30th.

Sorry for being "dumb" about this one.... would it be on the end towards DHS?

Okay I have read through pretty much this whole thread - wow! What a lot of info! Teena and all - you are so helpful!
We're going from 7/28 - 8/1 and we have a standard room.
I've looked at the map of the resort and generally can see what area those rooms are. Do many of them have full balconies? I wonder if I need to request that. Or is there a standard room that is in any better location? I'm hoping not to look out at a dumpster, but don't need anything special.
Thanks for all the help!
115 days to go!!!

The standard rooms are on the first, second, third and fourth floors. The ones on the first floor have patios. Most of them on the second floor have full balconies. The third and fourth floors have mixtures of standing and full balconies. The less requests you put on your reservation, the better chance of getting what you want. If a full balcony is really important, I'd put on your reservation "second floor courtyard view please". And remember, no request is guaranteed.

Thank you Teena. I wrote it down! I knew there were some that did and some that did not have full balconies. I'm not sure that we really need it, but I suppose it can't hurt to ask! I appreciate your fast response! I hope we'll see you!

Hello,
I have been reading this thread for a while. We had our first stay ( Husband and I only for Anniversary) at Yacht Club this past December and it was amazing. Our next family trip in June we are staying on the Beach Club side, I'm sure it's just as nice. In December it was too cold to use the pool so I have no idea what the pool hours were. Anyone know what time it opens in June? In December it closed early like 8 PM.Also we have a standard room booked, not sure what I should request but would like to be close to SAB if possible. I'm very excited to be staying at these resorts again :goodvibes.

Thanks,
Nichole

Come on, people. It's not nice to ignore a poster. If no one knows of an unofficial YBC site, could someone just say that? It's much nicer than ignoring.:goodvibes

:lmao:Okay I dont know of any official site but I'm still pretty new to all this so probably not your best source of info! Sorry you felt ignored I just thought someone else would know more:)

We are staying at the Beach Club for the first time this summer and I can't wait! My question is...we will be walking to the Dolphin every day for an event. Is there a better wing of the hotel I should request to be closer to the other hotels? Is the Beach Club very big and would it make a difference where our room was?

Hope this makes sense...I know what I am asking in my headnbut it doesn't seem right when I put it in words. :) Thanks.

Closest section would be near the lobby. Yacht Club would actually be closer to the Dolphin than Beach Club. Either way, the walk won't take you more than 10 minutes.
