I would add the following request to your reservation "second floor courtyard view please". The second floor rooms have full balconies and if you request a courtyard view, you would be able to people watch. Of course, if you don't get your request, the back porch has rocking chairs and is a super place to people watch. I would not do an on-line check-in and then when you check-in, ask the CM if you got a second floor courtyard view. If not, ask them what the view is and whether it's a full balcony. If it's not something you like, ask them for a room change. If a room that you like is not available the day you check-in, you can ask to be set up for a room change the next day or two to get your desired room area.

Thank you Teena, I will do that!:thumbsup2

are we more likely to get or not get our room requests/preferences? thanks for any help!!!

With on-line check-ins, they try really hard to get you into a ready room. Therefore, if the room assignors assigned you a room that met your requests but you get there early and that room isn't available yet, there's a good chance they will move you into a ready room that might not meet your requests. Also, the whole idea of on-line check-in is to get you checked in quickly. If your room requests are really really really important, you should spend some time working on it with the cast member. To do that, you should not be at the on-line check-in desk ... it's suppose to be quick show your ID, pick up your keys, sign the registration card and go on your way.

Teena - do you know if room service will deliver those white chocolate "Mickey" puzzles they have at Yachtman's Steakhouse. I'd like to get them for the kids.

You got me on that one. I have no idea but I would guess that you could arrange it.

thanks teena for your help! another quick question (and what a wonderful resource you are!)...if my parents are coming in a couple days after us and we requested connecting rooms, i am guessing i should probably have them check in at the desk as well? i will check in when we get there and cross my fingers :)

again, thanks for taking the time to reply to my question!!!!

Yes, that would be best. However, that's going to be a real long shot that you get connecting room. The person in that room would have to be leaving the day your parents are arriving ... not likely. But definitely put it on both your reservation as a request and your parents' reservation as a request.

I'm making up our packing list, and I'm wondering what we'll need for SAB besides swimming suits, of course. ;)

Are there life jackets, floaties, or noodles available to rent? Does anyone know what the charge is?

We have our own life jackets, but they would take up quite a bit of room in the luggage. Floaties would be easy to pack since we could just inflate them when we get there, but I know some pools don't allow them.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Does anyone know if the Vice Presidential suite at the Beach Club has a full balcony? And if one-bedroom suites are on the 5th floor, and/ or have full balconies? I'm looking into options for my parents for an upcoming trip, and they want a club level room with a King bed and a full balcony (oh, and also a water view) at the Beach Club - trying to find rooms that meet these qualifications is making my head spin!

We'll be staying in a standard CL room on the 5th floor, so it'd be nice if they were on the same floor as us, but if one-bedroom suites are only on lower floors and have full balconies and water views, that could be a good option.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Does anyone know if the YC has rooms with day beds?

We stayed at the BC a few years ago and our room had a day bed which was very nice for my DS :goodvibes

Also a full balcony is important for our stay. We use it as an additional "room" for our trips as we tend to sleep different hours. I know some of the room at the BC do not have these but what about the YC?

Where is the quiet pool located at the YC?

Thanks!

There are only two suites on the fifth floor, the Presidential and Vice Presidential. The Vice Presidential has a huge full balcony. If you go out the back door of the BC lobby and look up to the fifth floor on your right, that huge corner balcony is the Vice Presidential. It is my favorite room!!! I described it about a week ago on this thread somewhere.

The other one bedroom suites are scattered throughout the resort on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. Some have patios, some have standing balconies and some have full balconies. They all have king beds and a daybed and of course have 5th floor access to the lounge and CL concierges. Some of the one bedroom suites are real real real far away from the lobby! Unfortunately, you can't be guaranteed you will get one that is close to the elevators (to go up to the fifth floor and see you) or one that has a full balcony.

Just like the BC, some of the rooms have daybeds at the YC.

All rooms at the YC either have a patio or full balcony.

The quiet pool at the YC: If you are in the lobby of the YC and go down the long hallway past the store and keep going, you'll eventually come to the quiet pool.

What gives with the missing photos? Are they going to be moved to a new server??

Happy Easter! This time next year we'll be in WDW!

We are considering staying in the BCV studios next year and I had a few questions:

Do all studios have a full balcony? What are the views like, and is there one view that you would request? What do you typically find in a kitchenette? Do you still receive Mousekeeping services daily if you book through WDW and receive the H2O shampoo and lotion, or do you have to bring your own? ANything else you could share including pictures of/from your room would be greatly appreciated. We're really thinking this would be a great place to escape the park crowds and relax in SAB in the warm weather! :lovestruc Thanks in advance for your help! Oh, and how early does SAB open in the am?

Come on, people. It's not nice to ignore a poster. If no one knows of an unofficial YBC site, could someone just say that? It's much nicer than ignoring.:goodvibes

We spent ten glorious nights at the Beach Club Wow, I can't say enough wonderful things about the Beach Club! It was absolutely superb in every way. I highly recommend it! The grounds, the pool, our room (5682) were incredible, and all the staff went out of their way to be pleasant, kind and accomodating!! One of the highlights was of course, meeting Teena!! Teena, you made our trip!! :yay: I am so glad we had a chance to meet you!! We will be back in August, just having booked the Beach Club again! Can't wait!!!!!!!!
Michelle

Hey, you were sort of our neighbor! We just got back from 7 nights (3/26-4/2) and were in 5687. My MIL was in room 5681. :)

I agree with you 100% about the BC. It was our first time there, and we will be back again and again. It's our new "home" at WDW. LOVED it!!!!

BTW: Does anyone know what category room #5687 is? We booked CL-Garden View, but we had a "full frontal" Lagoon View! We were right next to the Nantucket Suite, on the end of the wing jutting out towards the portion of SAB where the slide ends. We could see ALL of the Lagoon, BWI, S/D, walkway to Epcot, etc. It was BEAUTIFUL! Just wondering if we got an upgrade or what. Our room did have a daybed too (per our request for our autistic son). This was definitely much more than a "garden view" room!

Noodles can be purchased for $3 each. Lifevests can be rented for free, just have to give your room key for them to jot down your number. We rented a vest for our youngest son last week. The only problem we ran into was that they do not have very many in each size (particularly size "S"). A couple times, he had to wear a vest that was too small on him. One day, he had to wear one that was too big. I suggest that if you need them, go early!

Also, arm floaties are allowed (the blow up kind). Other blow up inflatables are NOT allowed.

Looking back, I wish we'd brought our own vest for our son. It is a Speedo neoprene one that is rather small and thin, and it's easier for him to maneuver in the water. The ones at the pool are the same ones they give when you rent a boat, and are thick foam and sort of restricting. If you go to Target, they have the Speedo ones. When they are folded, they are rather small. Could easily fit on top of everything else in a suitcase and not really take up much room. I'd bring one of those, particularly if your child is around 3-4 years old, and likely a size "S" in the Disney vests.

You rent the vests and buy the noodles in the little shop to the left of the windmill. You have to go over a bridge and it's right there. You can't miss it!

There used to be one and found it in my bookmarks, but it is no longer in service. :sad2:
It was from the guy who had the original FAQ for the YC/BC, Joe Cool. Click here.
Wow! Talk about a blast from the past! Alot of us old DISers on there!
He went to college and got busy with life and obviously let the server fees go.

Guess we could google or "Bing" for a site and see what we can find! :)

Happy Easter day everyone!
