World Showcase never closes before Futureworld - and by extension, the International Gateway.

Technically, FW closes before WS every night - even on EMH nights. However, pretty much all of the main attractions in FW stay open until WS closes - its just the kiosks, snack carts, counter services, etc. close.

World Showcase opens LATER than FW (11am usually), but you can still enter through the IG...you are just directed to go directly to FW.

Thanks. We weren't sure if only FW was open on the EMH. But I now recall that both were open during our trip last November. My DH will be looking forward to closing out the night with a Harp beer over at England.:drinking1

If you weere staying Beach Club CL or Yacht Club CL, which has the best chances of a view of Epcot with fireworks? We had a great view from Swan.

We are going to stay at the BC in May. I am confused as to what the rooms look like. I really like the decor of some of the pics I have seen but not of others. Basically, I don't care for the headboards and the bedspreads with the busy boat/beach design on them. While other pics show a more modern upscale look. Which ones are the current decor? Or are some of suites? TIA for help.

I guess regardless it will be an excellent location and I hear great things about the place!:goodvibes

The pics of the new Yacht Club rooms look really nice with a more classic nautical type feel. They were just refurbished earlier this year.

To answer a debate a few pages back about 1) whether it is faster to walk thru Epcot to ride the monorail to the Mk.It really isn't.Also please be aware that unless you have park hopping privelages, you wouldn't be able to do it anyway...I saw a very upset very irate family on my way into MK one morning last Sept.Apparently, they were staying in the BCV ( same as us) and decided to walk thru epcot and than ride the monorail over to the mK..well they didn't have park hopping, and were very upset that they could not get into the MK since they already entered Epcot.
2) On my last 2 trips to the BCV they were allowing guests entering the IG to walk up to a roped off area near where FW and WS meet for rope drop. The front of the park guests got there about the same time as the first people from the IG rope drop.

Do you mean a view from a room? Because they are both so close to each other that going out on the beach or walkway really would be the same for both. I did stay at BC in a room right by the quiet pool but we always went to the beach for the movie at night and watched the fireworks from there. At 'ground level' you could see limited fireworks (we actually saw a bunch from HS too). I'm not sure if you could see much more from the highest level of BC/YC - there aren't a lot of floors like Swan/Dolphin.

Can anyone tell me what the current state of renovations to the YC rooms is? Have all of the rooms been renovated yet?

All done.

Hi Teena! I know you work at BC, but what type of renovation was done at YC - was it the soft rehab (curtains, bedspreads) or was it carpeting and such as well?

Just curious - we were there in January and fell in love with the resort and I will know tomorrow whether I will be returning for a holiday trip (DD finds out if she made the play or not) - (already have reservations, just in case lol)

carpets, bedspreads, curtains, tvs, etc.

Hey Teena-
We are looking forward to our Feb extended family trip in the 2 bed bcv.:cloud9: Did they do the same renovation to all three areas (YC, BC, & BCV)? Meaning tvs, carpets,...Just curious.
Also, do the CM still do fun SAB activities with the kids in the winter months or is this just a summer thing?
We are all so lucky to have you on this thread with us! I told my husband I want to be a DW greeter when I retire from teaching! :flower3:

No new tvs in the villas - they wouldn't fit in the furniture units that were in the villas, but the rest was done.
And yes, as long as it's warm enough, the activities are on all winter. Some days if it gets below a certain temperature outside, they close SAB but that rarely happens (gets that cold). I see people in the pool some days when I come bundled up to work.

Nope, five ... the deluxe rooms have two queens and a daybed.

I don't know where i got it in my head that it did. We may have an extra on our May 2010 trip and i was considering upgrading to the DR instead of switching to 2 rooms at a mod. I think i am going to leave my ressie as is for now and if the tag along does materialize i will deal with changing ressies later.

thanks

Are the floor plans the same as the Boardwalk? I can't find any info about the deluxe rooms.:confused3

If you go to the site listed below, it lists all the room types at the BC. The very last category is the deluxe rooms and under the column for maximum occupancy, it says five. I don't know anything about the Boardwalk rooms but if they sleep six, then I would assume the floor plans are different.

:confused3 We have booked a garden view CL room at the BC for a party of five. 2 adults, 3 kids.......I don't see that specific category listed under the explanation of rooms you referred the previous poster to? I see a standard cl room with standard view but not one designated as a Cl garden view room? Help! :) Thanks Teena:)

We don't have garden view rooms ... it's a mistake and they are trying to fix it everywhere. We have water view or standard view. So you are correct, you have a standard cl room booked. Your room will have two queens and a daybed in it. It is on the fifth floor. The deluxe rooms are larger than the standard view and water view rooms on the fifth floor. The deluxe rooms are on the first, second, third and fourth floors but you have key access to the fifth floor where the lounge is.
