:goodvibes Hi Teena, before you know it we'll be on our Way to the BC on Sunday, January 10th. Couple of questions you may know the answer too.

One, we had to change our reservations due to DH's change of work schedule so now we are there 1/10 to 1/7. Due to this, the only thing available was the waterview room which we took. However, I specifically requested the daybed, as my dd is 22 and my ds is 20 and 6 ft tall! How much of a chance is there to get that. If not! I'm totally sunk! :scared1:

Also thanks for time you take to answer all of our thousands of questions every day. I CANNOT wait to meet you! So Happy about the new breakfast option at B&C. I was so upset over the lack of offerings. This is a Godsend!

Where is the best place from the BC to watch Illuminations if one wanted to do that! Best, Jan :woohoo:

We don't have garden view rooms ... it's a mistake and they are trying to fix it everywhere. We have water view or standard view. So you are correct, you have a standard cl room booked. Your room will have two queens and a daybed in it. It is on the fifth floor. The deluxe rooms are larger than the standard view and water view rooms on the fifth floor. The deluxe rooms are on the first, second, third and fourth floors but you have key access to the fifth floor where the lounge is.

Are there any pictures of the deluxe rooms? Does anyone know the square footage of the deluxe rooms?

Somebody put pictures up of the deluxe rooms ... I remember seeing them so keep looking on this thread. I'm sorry but I don't know the square footage but they are a really really nice size.

Thanks Teena! I'll go back through the thread and look for the pictures!

I'm sure this has been asked and answered many times, but I couldn't find it, what is the difference between booking a standard room at the Beach Club and at the Yacht club? I've read that the Yacht is considered more "stuffy" while the Beach is more "relaxed". Is that the only real difference? Are the standard rooms pretty much the same?

The disney site also says that you may get double beds at the Beach, but that is incorrect, right? All rooms have queens now, right?

Do the rooms at the Beach and Yacht all have daybeds?

Are balconies only guaranteed on the Yacht side?

Thanks so much for your help.

If your request is only for a daybed, you have a good chance of getting it. If you have a request that says something like "daybed, second floor with view of courtyard", you have a less chance of getting it because the room assignors have three requests to try and fill for you and chances are some of the three are not going to happen. The easier the request, the better chance of it being met. When you get to the front desk, ask them if your assigned room has a daybed. If they say no, just nicely tell them you really need one. Keep in mind that all the daybeds are not the same. The rooms with the new daybeds will be fine for your 6 footer. However, the rooms with the old daybeds will not work for the 6 footer. There is no way for the front desk CMs to know which room has the new and which have the old. Therefore, when you get to your room, if it is the old one and won't work, you have two options. You can go back and explain to the front desk CM that your room has one of the old daybeds in it and your 6 footer won't fit in it and ask nicely if there is anyway you could have a room with one of the newer daybeds in it. The CM would then have to send a runner to various available rooms in hopes of finding a vacant room with a new daybed in it. Or you can request a rollaway instead. The rollaway will do fine for a 6 footer and stores upright when not being used as a bed.

You mention the breakfast option at B&C. I haven't been to work in over a week. I have a horrible sinus infection. But unless something changed while I was gone, the breakfast option at B&C was only there during the summer for about a month. It was a trial. Unless they started it up again last week while I've been gone, once the trial was over, it stopped. The breakfast option (quick service) is only the Marketplace. We have table service at Cape May (character breakfast) or at the Captain's Grill you can order off a menu or have the buffet. Another option is switching to a CL room where they serve a nice continental type breakfast every morning (hard boiled eggs, cut up fruit, cereals, various pastries, etc.). Of course you also get snacks all day long and nice appetizers and beer and wine from 5-7 at night and desserts and cordials (Bailey's, etc.) from 8-10. Some guests find the extra money per night is equivalent to what they would spend for five breakfasts every morning. You can get other opinions on whether or not guests think the CL option is worth the money from reading posts here. Some of the guests go into great detail describing the food options in the CL lounge so you can get a pretty good idea.

The only difference is how the rooms are decorated. Some have daybeds, some don't - in both resorts. However, the YC rooms all have balconies. The lobby of the BC is bright and noisy and cheery. The lobby of the YC is dark woods. If I get scheduled over at the YC, I tell people I'm working on the dark side. It's totally a personal choice.

The doubles are all queen beds now at the BC.

Well, that is a bummer!! I had no idea that it was a standard room with a standard view. I thought it was one step up from that, given it was CL. So, if I want a room with a decent view, what can I request ???. I really don't want a view of a rooof or parking lot if I can help it.
Thanks Teena for getting back to me! Appreciate it!
Also, do all of those CL rooms have the longer full balconies?

Unfortunately half the standard view CL rooms are parking lot or roof views. Most do have full balconies. There is no guarantee of course but I would make my one and only request "garden or courtyard view please".

Thanks so much for the help.

So, if I want a full balcony and a daybed (realizing the daybed is just a request, not a guarantee), which resort would be best. The Yacht club with a request for a daybed, or the Beach club with a request for a full balcony and a daybed?

The full balcony is a must for my dh, the daybed is just a plus to help my 2 boys (ages 9 & 8) sleep better and limit their fighting.

Thanks again for all the help.

I'd go with the YC and put your request as "daybed requested, not first floor". By requesting not first floor, you will get a balcony and not a patio. However, if you booked a standard view, your view from your balcony might be a roof or parking lot.

Thanks again for your help. I have no problem with the view from the balcony, or even if we have the gound floor patio, my husband just wants a place to sit and relax while the boys are going to sleep, which is why the balcony/patio is most important.

Then the YC is the place for you. Just make your request "daybed please".

We will be staying at the BeachClub Villas (2 bedroom) on January 22 for 7 nights. Can you tell me which rooms are better for seeing Illuminations? I'm assuming the 4th and 5th floors, but what room numbers?

I have never stayed in the villas before, but have stayed at the Yacht Club several times.

Is the second bedroom with the sofa the same size as having 2 beds in the bedroom or is it smaller

Is there a website for the grocers on property?

HI!

If I have a standard room for 5 booked at BC and I request a "full balcony," what view do you think I'll get? This is our first stay at any deluxe WDW resort, and I know my husband will spend time on the balcony.

Maybe it doesn't matter, but I don't really want to face the parking lot.

Hi Teena and everyone else.

I just changed our December 4th reservation from WL to Yacht Club. It will be our first time staying here and it is for a short 10th Anniversary trip without the kids. We are very excited! I was going to ask if all the rooms have been renovated but I read already that they had :goodvibes. Only standard rooms were left for our dates which is fine. But I have no idea what to request?? Maybe close to lobby or high floor.

Thanks,
Nichole

You have chance of getting a courtyard view, a garden view, a tree area view, a parking lot view or a roof view. Anything that isn't water basically. If a good view is really really important, you might want to consider upgrading to a water view.

If it were me, I'd make my request read: "wedding gazebo view please".

Sorry for the stupid question, but here goes.

We will be driving up to WDW from South Florida and checking into the BC. When we get there, should we just park the car in the lot first and then roll the luggage into the lobby?

Or pull up front and have the luggage unloaded for us? But if we do that, can we leave the car right out front while both dh and I check-in and then move the car when we are finished? (Both dh and I like to go to the desk together to check in - that's part of the excitement!)

P.S. Last time we stayed at the BC, we arrived by taxi so we didn't have to worry about the car.
