We have never tried the YC before but are looking forward to our December trip, especially since we booked a CL room. :woohoo:

The most burning question that we have is about the afternoon tea offerings at the Concierge Lounge. Can anyone give me a little more information on this? My wife just loves her afternoon tea. TIA

Phew, it has taken me a couple of days but I have read all of this thread and I am getting very excited for our stay in December! We were originally staying at BC standard room but when I saw the club level discounts I couldn't resist calling and checking the price. We are now staying at YC club level for pretty much the same price so I am VERY happy. :yay:

Thanks to this thread I discovered the IPO and have been in contact with them and am now even more excited (if that is possible). I do have one question though, we are meeting up with some friends who are staying at the Beach Club Villas and we want to do some dining with them while we are there (including character meals). What do we do with the ADR's so we can dine together? I will be emailing my ADR's to the IPO but am not sure what to do about the meals we want to share with our friends..... Also, I would love to be able to book Cinderella's Royal Table. Does anyone have experience with this?

Appreciate any advice.
Melissa

We stayed at BC CL this summer and had friends who were staying at YC in a regular room. I just asked BC IPO to make a few reservations for 9 instead of 5 (explained that we were joining friends) and had no difficulty. Also they were able to book CRT for me with no problem.

You can just make the ADR for however many total people there will be; for example, I booked Boma for 9 people when there were four on my reservation. They will just ask number of Adults and Children, and if your total is more than 10 people I think they may require a credit card number for guarantee.

The breakfast at B&C is over. It was a CS. The only breakfast options at the Y&B now are Cape May Character Breakfast (table service), buffet or order off the menu at Captain's Grill (table service) or counter service items which consist of a breakfast sandwich, a parfait, bakery items, cereals, at the Marketplace and also about the same options at Ale & Compass at the YC. I'm hoping they will bring back the CS at B&C which gave you a full breakfast platter of eggs, bacon, pancakes, biscuit; pancakes and bacon; an omelet, etc. I still believe if enough people scream about bringing it back, they will do it.

That didn't last long. :confused3 We got breakfast at B&C one morning. It was good. I found myself going to Boardwalk Bakery most mornings. They had a better selection of baked goods (hence the name) but they had a bacon, egg and cheese croissant. The croissant at the Marketplace was made with Ham. As my eight year old son says "Everything tastes better with bacon on it". :rotfl2:

Just back from the BC, but I believe the offerings are the same as the YC.

There was no afternoon tea served at the BC. To my knowledge, the only CLs that serve a true tea are the GF and AKL.

BC did have a wonderful choice of teas available all day, and there were cookies available in the afternoons, along with yogurt-covered pretzels and kettle chips.

We were very pleased with the food in the lounge.:cloud9:

Teena, glad your husband is starting to feel better. My husband just had abdom. aortic aneurysm surgery and came home yesterday and is running a slight fever now (which can be normal but still I worry!) I've been reading all of these threads trying to keep my worry level manageble and to keep thinking forward to our trip to BC CL in December! Since Monday, our internet has been experiencing an outage and has been out more than on! Seems to be in working order now. Before the surgery he was saying "if" we get to go....so now it's over and I am thinking positive and I am telling him--we are going! We are so looking forward to it and I haven't posted much, just reading mostly but I do appreciate all of the info you and others post about their experiences and what we can look forward to.

Thanks!:wizard:

Would someone be kind enough to post what refill drinks are available for the mugs? Is it the normal soda, coffee, tea, & hot chocolate or is there something unique? 2 years ago at AKL there was apple juice as well.

can anyone give me a garden view YC CL room number that has a nice view. It would never hurt to request that room. I know most of the Club level garden view rooms are not pretty. But Water view is not available for my dates.

We were there the end of June and they had lemonade as well as the items you mentioned. I don't remember seeing apple juice. I kept getting ice water. It was SO HOT. We got our moneys worth out of the mugs. Have fun.:cool1:

Sorry I don't remember the room number but we had a very nice gv YC CL room in October. It was overlooking the back entrance courtyard. If you looked to the right you could see Crescent Lake.

Another question about the BCV...
In the 2 bedroom villa, I haven't seen any pics of a room with 2 queens. Is that an option? Both my kids sleep like Kung Fu Panda- and to put them in the same bed- ugh! I do know that some rooms have the pull out sofa in the extra bedroom, so that is an option! Just wondered if some have 2 beds! thanks!

The normal bedding for a 2 BR villa is a king bed in the master, a queen bed and a double sleeper sofa in the second BR and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room, sleeping 8 people max all together.

There are 25 two BR villas that are a king in the master, 2 queens in the second BR and a queen sleeper in the living room at BCV. These 2 BR villas that have 2 queens in the second bedroom are reserved for members.
It is VERY rare for a renter (non member booking thru DRC or some other means) to get those 2 BR villas as the members have them in high demand. They can not be booked by renters. If a renter gets one, they were moved there by the resort for some reason. You can always request to be moved to one, but it is a very slim chance that you will be.

I have heard though that the sleeper sofa are very comfortable though. I personally have never stayed in the BCV, so I can not b=personally verify that. Maybe one of the other disers can let you know their opinion either way.

Now, if you are a member, and are booking thru member services, you need to tell them you want a DQ 2 BR villa. They will know what that means, but that is the 2 BR with the 2 queens.

Hope this helps! :thumbsup2

Could someone please give me any standard view room numbers that are close to Storm Along Bay located in the Beach Club resort? If so please post. Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would like to know if a 5 years old kid can sleep on the day bed in the BC. They look kind of small. Thanks CanadianGuy for the new thread :thumbsup2
The new ones at the BC can sleep an adult!

Just to clarify this point a bit, we have 2 different types off day beds at the BC. When they did the rehab, we inherited some flip day beds from another property that bought them then changed their mind about using them all. So they came to us. They were put in as the rehab went along, and therefore are scattered about the resort. The only place I know they are for sure is the 5th floor CL of the BC. All the day beds there were replaced with the flip day beds since that floor was done first. They are basically the size of a twin bed. I am 5'10" and can lay on one comfortably. However we only have about 1/3 of the day beds at the BC replaced with the flip day beds.

The regular day beds that we have at the YC and the rest of the rooms at the BC are meant for a child. They are 5 feet long, and 27 inches wide. They look like the one in the new pics of the renovated rooms at the YC in the last thread.

So, if you are planning on booking a room for 5 people, please keep this in mind. If you need bedding for 5 adults, ak them to add the request for a room with 2 queens and a rollaway. Our rollaways are more like twin beds, and are not the kind that fold in the middle. You will most likely be told when you book, and ask for this request that there is a $15 charge for the rollaways. This is true in general, however, when one is needed for your party size to have bedding, we generally do not charge for them. So if they tell you there is a fee when you book, just say ok, no problem, and leave it at that.

I hope this helps clear some things up! :)

Can you request a room with a bigger day bed? Our daughter is 5'9", she was going to use the day bed.
Last year when we stayed at the Poly, she fit on their day bed's just fine. I guess I made the mistake of thinking all deluxe resorts had the same size day beds. Maybe my son will have to sleep on it!

Thanks! I like lemonade. It's a nice change from soda.

Here is a floor map of the BC. I have been told that the room descriptions are not accurate but the room numbers look pretty good.

You will want to be close to the lobby. To get to SAB you have to pass through the lobby and then walk around Cape May Cafe. You will exit out the doors when the hallway ends and you will be at SAB. Beaches and Cream and the arcade are there too.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess that we will have to work in the afternoon tea at the Gardenview Lounge at the GF after hearing this news. I certainly don't mind going over to GF to do this again with my wife, but I figured if there was a less expensive and almost as good alternative, that we would try it. I prefer to go with what I know will keep my wife happy in this case. ;)

With the new YC Club level promo I think I am going to add it for our trip in Oct. My question is are all Club level rooms on the 5th floor? Any certain room you like over another? I am off to read more post. Very excited about this!

Would anyone be able to tell me what the YC Club level promos are?? Would they be available for the last week in August (8/29-9/7) - we're currently booked in a standard at the YC.

Thanks!
